Really glad you decided to full send this series! I like the fact you're learning as you go! There's something deeply satisfying about stripping down mechanical tech, cleaning it up and trying to figure out how the components operate and making it good as new again - great work!
In all the years messing with carburetters I never had one apart to this extent. I only went as far as I needed to to fix the fault. You may want to purchase two Gunson Colour Tunes that allow you to seen the combustion colour. I say two because that carb is split in two. The two solinoids are anti run on valves, back in the day it was not uncommon for your engine to keep kind of running after turning it off "dieseling".
The best of luck I really do hope it works. We'll done for completing the refurbishment of the carburettor. Like I said in last video when I had a5 series 2.5 the solex carburettor was toast so was told to fot mini electric pump. Worked for me 😆
Great video George, l enjoyed seeing the carb disassembled and this takes me back to the days of servicing my favourite carburettor, the twin choke Weber. It's very satisfying to refurbish and re-install the finished job. The engine will fire up and should run nicely. Well done with this latest project. 😊
I own a 1981 bmw 320/6 , sat since 2007 in a garage , after oiling engine and fresh gas it fired right up with no ill symptoms, I am glad I found your video for down the road , where did u buy your rebuilt kit from? BTY I am in the process shipping it to USA , I have owned it since 1986

Hi George The part what the missing rod connects to on your carb is seized and not operating freely like yours Could you tell me what the diaphragm part is called and if I can get a replacement. I spoke to classic carbs great guy but he can’t help Thanks
This is the best seties yet! Looking forward to the next part.
More to come!

We shall see.. I’m not hopeful though with how I’ve messed with the adjustment screws 😅
Great work George, not the simplest carburettor to work on for your first one but you nailed it.
Good luck on your next day's work on the car
Thanks 👍
Great video SIR GEORGE,for someone who doesn’t know what he’s doing, your doing a fantastic job, weldone🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks 👍
You may find carbs complicated but I’m from an era where setting up one is far easier than modern cars 😂
Get yourself an Ultrasonic cleaner, they work wonders on carb bits.
Would be lovely!
Hi mate, what’s latest with garage build?
Should have an update at the end of Jan👍🏻
Hey, could you by any chance share the pdf?
Great video.Who manufactured the carburettor?..I'm guessing Pierburg Neuss?🤔
Correct👍🏻
@@GeorgeAusters I had this carburettor in a 1979 Ford Granada 2.3L.The automatic choke would play up and the engine would stall.
@simontrigg9059 Did you find the problem with it? I can’t see any problems with my choke system
@@GeorgeAusters I did'nt,no! Engine would stall during warm up.Yours should be fine as you've overhauled and thoroughly cleaned it.
We’ll see once it’s back up and running👍🏻
George do u have the disassemble video?
I love this channel .
Great job bro
Regards from USA
I didn’t bother to film the disassembly of it because it’s not a very common item and not many are watching these videos
