For the laughing one, I have a few go-tos. 1) Can you guys give me either the highest pitched, or lowest pitched laugh that you can? You'll usually get a couple seconds of ridiculous faces, but then they hear how silly they sound and give an actual laugh. Works great for wedding party photos too. 2) Okay, gonna count down and give you guys something to do. Ready? 3,2,1 TICKLE FIGHT. In five years, that one has yet to fail me. 3) I would like you to whisper in the brides ear as sensually as you can, which type of cheese you find to be the most arousing. Without fail, always gets a laugh.
My favorite time to get portraits of the bride and groom is actually right after they finish getting ready. Window light portraits are the bees knees, and like... easy mode for getting a good photo.
One of my usual go-tos is actually one that I hijacked from my own wedding photographer because of how much I loved it. (Shout-out to Alisha Light there) She had my wife hold onto the end of her dress and slowly wave it back and forth, while we held hands and gazed off into the distance in opposite directions. We had eloped in Colorado in front of the Flatirons, and the photo of us like that with the mountains behind us was by far my favorite photo.
Great video! This is one reason why I *really* hope all of my couples do a first look, it allows for extra portrait time!! Plus, it’s such a sweet moment for the two of them. ❤️☺️
Fantastic tips thank you. I have been asked to photograph and video a wedding of 35 in Leeds, England. . Have no experience but like your outlay of portrait shots for bride and groom. Have taken note. 👍
Hey John it would be great if you could talk about how to deal with videographers, especially when it comes to introducing yourself and agreeing with some ground rules. Thank you
I typically let them know how I shoot different parts of the day, they can shoot with me or I'll ask if they want to step in before a transition. It's always better for everyone if they are willing to work together to make the day great.
ooOOOOoo. I've never actually used a Zeiss. I'm always open to reviews however I really want to be able to use it for real rather than just for a week. So If I ever get my hands on one I'll look into it.
@@jbivphotography thanks a lot. I’m confused between that lens and 16mm f2.8, wondering if 16mm is enough for most wedding situations here in Malaysia. Anyway I’m your fans from Malaysia brother
@@jbivphotography I was really hoping you'd say that. Lol. I've been an amateur photographer for two years and I've just booked my first wedding. One camera, 3 lenses and a second shooter. Your videos have been instrumental in my preparations and I cannot thank you enough.
YES PLEASE!! A video working alongside the videographer would be highly welcomed 🙏🏾😀
Thanks in advance
yeah I think that one might be SUPER important actually. I really need to plan it out.
Thank you, for these, they are really great.

Bahahaha the comment about the planner asking “are you done?!” at the end of this video is SO REAL 😂😅 great video!!!
😫😫 OMG! Nothing against planners but I swear EVERY WEDDING. And I'm over there like "omg I JUST started taking portraits"
I hate that too Hahahaa
The planner and I had a DJ doing this to us 🤦♀️
John....The world needs an app for the 10 poses to have at our fingertips !
Thank you for your tips! I'm shooting my first wedding today!! Freaking out a bit but so so so grateful for your channel!

This video was so helpful!! I always love doing a veil toss or having the couple go under the veil for a photo.
Glad it was helpful!

You're welcome! Happy to help out!
Excellent content as usual. Geesh I have a long way to go but it was encouraging to see that I do capture a lot of these poses.
Agreed. I love taking solos first. Even if they are together - I'll take a few quick solos before taking them together. If not, I'll forget too. lol
EXACTLY! I always forget it or run out of time if I end up not just doing it in the first place.
good to see you here. .
I'm here. 💞💞.
Great to see you as well.
Nicely put and great work John! 👏👏👏
Thanks for watching
I bought a 50mm from KEH, it was a great lens!
NICE!! I've been VERY happy with their used gear. Trying to stop myself from buying too much more. 😂
Trying to watch this video but just kept staring at that silver play button 🔥
Had to flex a little bit. I'm not going to leave it there however. 😂😂

love keh.
Bro I wish you had posted this last Sunday😂👌🏽👌🏽 fire video tho! Can you make a video on how to start second shooting for weddings?
Oh yeah! A video on seconding would be super helpful. I get a bunch of questions about it oftern.
Solid Tips.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice and reasonable. Thank You, John. Luv.
You're very welcome
💯 thanks
Bravo!!!!
Thanks a bunch!
Excellent video. :)
Thank you very much! I hope it was helpful.
Are you done 100x 💯 Facts
Me: Hold on, one last shot, oh again this spot is cool, promise one last shot.
you are awesome!!
Thanks a bunch! Glad you're enjoying the content.
Very helpful for wedding photographer. Can you review Zeiss Touitt 12mm 2.8
ooOOOOoo. I've never actually used a Zeiss. I'm always open to reviews however I really want to be able to use it for real rather than just for a week. So If I ever get my hands on one I'll look into it.

You're welcome!
Good stuff bro!
Appreciate it
Are you using flash,OCF or a mix of both?
What do film simulation you use in wedding event ? Please
🤩😍
In Colombia, many times the woman is taller than the man. Do you have any tips for this situation at weddings?
I love your channel
Джон, очень круто. 👍
Do your focal lengths take crop value into consideration?
No. So my 50mm is more like an 85. Or my 23 is more like a 35mm. I hope that helps.

Hi!
How many couples portraits do you take? How big are the photos and how wide are they?
Keyword: INTERACT
Q: How many photos do you give away to your client? How many poses?
Would you say a videographer is a must (in addition to a photographer)?
I think it really depends on the couple and what their wants are. I don't think it's a must have but I'm sure it's nice.
please make the video working with a videographer
wow still hand slapping, bye
