  • Create Absolutely Realistic Water Reflections in Photoshop Using 3D! In this lesson, learn how to create water in a three-dimension workspace and add properties such as reflection, waves, and ripples.
We will start with fundamental color grading and sky replacement to make the scene more dramatic. Then, we will recreate the land and water in 3D. After which, we'll learn to work and experiment with material properties to make the water material to reflect the land.
I hope this video helps you. Thank you so much for watching :)

Since going through this tutorial, I've been creating water reflections in everything so that I will remember the steps. Created NYC partially underwater. Mt. Everest now has a lake. It needed one. In particular, the room in the image for the create a vignette in under a minute tutorial is flooded. I showed, not publicly, a friend and he said all it needed was a shark. Next morning I added a shark fin and its shadow/reflection. To do that, I found an image of a shark fin and ocean and extracted it using the method in your transparent PNGs with shadows tutorial. Worked perfectly. I even used your smudge tool trick to tuck a rough edge under the fin. But then I found a better fin. Your tutorials are wonderful. Just wanted to let you know they're not wasted. Thank You!!!

Better idea for the white reflections: make the initial 3D background wider using content-aware fill, and then you will still get convincing reflections from the water.
