"Your mothers warned you about my coming" 🥶 💀
if you actually take it in, that is a cold line. He's basically saying "yo mama's told you stories about me when you were lil youngins"
HE COLD
From Paul onii chan
To Papa Muad'Dib
He became the Spice Daddy
He’s warning that the coming of Lisan Al gaib may not be such a good thing for them after all.
Kinda like how the prophecy of the Chosen one which the Jedi interpreted as positive was actually a warning of doom to both Jedi & Sith.
I'll use that in my Tinder profile
I love how Lady Jessica tells him to slow down, becaue it shows that Paul has completely surpassed her. He knows more than her, and knows that every word he says is exactly what needs to be said to achieve their ends. He becomes more than a Bene Gesserit.
The power of prescience
They are both reverend mothers, they share knowledge lol

@@augustinefaithdefender Except Paul can see his male side all the way down, she can only she her female side. He can effectively see double
Stilgar makes these scenes feel real. You can see the transition from doubt to zealot and it is glorious in a horrifying way.
In the book, it horrifies Paul too. He sees a close friend turns into a fanatical zealot. And that is part of what influences his subsequent actions.
@@lazmanariffsulaiman7569 That's very sad to hear... Cant wait for more of the books to be adapted.
@@lazmanariffsulaiman7569 Yeah. practically 80% of Dune 2 is Paul being afraid to embrace his destiny and become Lisan Al-Ghaib.
Because he knows what that will mean, millions of people, and his closest friends, will no longer view him the same.
And billions will die because of it.
great actor Javier Bardem
It is horrible indeed.
Oscar worthy scene
i felt it so strongly watching the movie because I was imagining myself as one of the Fremen and this speech would've moved me to fight through hell for a person not even from my Planet. I felt somewhat scared that humans can be so easily manipulated into anything. It makes you think if there was any point in your life where someone's 'Voice' compelled you to act to their benefit.
If the Oscars weren't trash, Dune Part 2 would sweep; but it won't.
@@hurin1932 it may
It won't, hollyweird has a white saviour complex.
@@raz1980. You do realize that Paul isn t a savior right ? You do realize he is a calamity right ?
Gotta hand it to Chalamet, he really won me over with his performance in Dune 2. I joke to my friends that if I was in that room I might've been chanting Lisan Al-Gaib myself
I feel like saying his name at the theater too
Fr I didn't know he could bring that kind of powerful voice 😅 always thought of him as a twink but damn bro got vocal cords
How he switches from chakobsa to common to chakobsa to claim the foreign title of duke but then back to chakobsa to assert his is the Lisan al Gaib (the voice from the outer world speaks in a foreign language to show how he is both one with them but set above them) is masterful.
You can see it on Jessica's face too, she was surprised and proud that Paul introduced himself as a Duke. She probably thought he'd fully embrace being a fremen to gain their support but as he said, he'll be pointing the way
@@mikhaelralliv9533 She also cautioned him against going to fast and he ignored her and did what he knew would work. He grows beyond her in this scene. He grows beyond all of them.
@@mikhaelralliv9533 also, Gurney was quite joyful - one of the things that is clear from 1) his training AND taking the Water of Life 2) his cementing his place with the Fremen and 3) his inheritence as Duke (including the nukes) is just how many distinct, powerful forces were pushing Paul to take the role he did - it is little wonder the Reverend Mother feared him as too powerful.
Can you maybe type a more clear sentence like Jesus. This entire comment section is unbearable to read like holy shit.
@@ABitOfApplauseYes you could see the pride beam on her face as she realized he had awakened and was unstoppable.
1:32 "In that instant, Paul saw how Stilgar had been transformed from the Fremen naib to a creature of the Lisan al-Gaib, a receptacle for awe and obedience. It was a lessening of the man, and Paul felt the ghost-wind of the jihad in it."

Bro dropped the hardest Dune edit and thought we wouldn't notice.
This movie has truly shown us the POWER OF WORDS. Incredible and astounding portrayal of a man became voice of millions.
A big thematic point in the Dune Saga is the power of words and the woes of trusting charismatic leaders.
You should read ahead on how it turns out for the Fremen.
A man became the voice of millions, but the death of billions in the jihad he brought.
Herbert always been clear that paul isnt a hero. He wanted to show that powerfull people becomes dansgerous for the masses.
Let them believe the lies it's a bigger regret when they realise they were apart of universal genocide and they themselves have to understand they too chant mudbib n so they too are part of the jihad that will kill billions upon billions in Paul's name.
I honestly didn’t believe Timothee had what it takes to play this side of Paul. But he does. Villeneuve could not have picked a better actor for the part.
Totally agree.
I recommend watching The King (2019). His performance in that is what convinced me he would crush this role.

@@NoiseMaker231 nah u right I was judging based off the length of the video but it’s still an awesome speech!
Dude when I saw this scene in the cinema for the first time I was so flabbergasted I knew It was one of those scenes I had to rewind like 50 times to keep re-experiencing it. The presence Timothy commands in this scene is so intense. As a massive skeptic of religion myself, I was like shit if I was there I would be bowing down as well.
When he said “COW BAKA KAH LEE KAKAH LEE”, I felt that
“In your nightmares, you give water to the dead, and it brings joy to your heart!”
That line gives me goosebumps every time
its worse when you realize he's prying into that particular Naib's dreams. Shedding tears, giving water to the dead, is sacrosanct, but also something intensely private. Water is everything after all, and shedding tears can be said to be the greatest offering there. But he is a Naib and should be above such things. Yet he dreams of it and it brings him joy.
Imagine how it feels if someone peered into your sweetest dreams from you and laid it bare for all to see.
This moment was epic AF in cinema

When I saw this in the cinema, I wanted to stand up and shout LISAN AL GAIB.
Greatest movie in the last years.
When he says “the Hand of God be my witness, I am the voice from the outer World (Lisan Al Gaaib)” I get goosebumps every single time. This was my favorite scene in the movie just because of the way he controls the room by telling them didn’t you all pray for this day? Great delivery by Timothee as well after looking like a scrawny quiet kid in the first film
Same, it gives me goosebumps. Best scene in the movie. I perfectly captures the messianic expectations being realized.
AE Rudhi-diina, Heshidanii , ne Lisan Al Gaib..
False Messiah or not, theres a deep yearning our hearts to take charge of our lives, overcome the obstacles and Become that which we are destined to be. Thats what makes Paul's character resonate with all of us.
He represnts an Ideal we all aspire to.
At the same time, he represent the fear of what we may become if we succumb to our darkest instincts. All that Lisan Al Gaib represents is fanaticism, death and destruction. Also, in the far distance, a hope for humanity. The kwisath haderach played the part of the "Lisan al-Gaib" to secure a future for humanity.
the thing is, he kinda did what the prophecy foretold. It's just that the prophecy entailed some consequences that weren't understood
If Denis makes part 3 this could be one of the best trilogies ever
There is going to be a third movie.
I believe every generation gets an epic trilogy. Gen Xs got the Star Wars trilogy, Millennials LotR (also the Matrix trilogy). Gen Z is getting Dune.
GEN X here. I couldn't think of any si fi movie better than Star Wars or Blade Runner. Dune is amazing I can't wait for the 3rd movie honestly my new favorite si fi , being that I don't watch the new Disney adaptations of star wars, Dune has won me over.
@@Maidez09millennials got LOTR (if we're talking about the best)
This whole scene is when I realized the tragedy in dune, amazing storytelling 10/10
This scene is so powerful. I'm terrified that a leader could arise and convince me so easily.
But he's actually the Kwisatz Haderach which is a very real power.
He can literally see people's past, the Past, and the Future.
If someone actually had that power in our world, yah they might convince me too
This was the point that Frank Herbert was making by writing the Dune series. Charisma is a double-edged sword in that those who have this trait in spades can accomplish anything they wish. However, those who are charismatic tend to be people who get caught up in their own charisma and lose sight of any rational or moral reasoning. They are not inherently corrupt, nor does power corrupt them, but those individuals are drawn to power because they are corruptible.
Best scene in the movie for me and one of the best speech in cinema history.

@@jaycehhe is not. His son was suppose to be, Paul was suppose to be the mother of the prophecy. A prophecy which by the way ain't prophecy, but convenient propaganda for the galaxy takeover the bene Gesserit were planning. Paul just took opportunity that he happened to fit into their religion.

Gurney looks so proud seeing the boy he knew as a infant, stand before the masses, wearing his grandfathers signet ring and announcing himself Duke Atreides.
Everyone has a moment they remember from the film, but that was honestly the part I loved the most.
Gurney failed his duke, watched his army fall, and atreides burn, but now he sees the ring of his duke being worn by Paul. His loyalty to atredies is bound once more, and you can see in his eyes just how happy and proud he is of his new duke.

Coldest speech in recent movie history.
The bass when you hear it in theaters is so strong during this speech you feel the urge to join the Fremen in just bowing down to Paul.
Immediately recognized this as the central turnaround scene in movie - Paul for the first time embracing his role as Lisan Al Gaib and using the power given to him. Its one of the most impressive scenes I've ever seen, unbelievably strong and tragic as well. The fremen voluntarily becoming pawns in this battle that's not theirs following a prophet that was foisted to them.
Scene very much reminded me of, at least imo, one of the best star wars scenes (and especially Padme's line at the end): 'so this is how liberty dies - to thunderous applause'
it's one of the best scenes in any movie. Really spectacularly done.

@@koko40800 your wrong, dune source and its original saying "the exact reference" comes from a report {the Hindustan times} on the Algerian freedom fighters who chanted the Muslim saying, " long live the martyrs ". this was the only similar recorded war chant which existed before frank Herbert's specific dune book was made for that part of the lore. after which he copied and made it into his own, inspired by that war chant, just like how he took entire lines from a book on Muslim freedom fighters " the sabres of paradise ". the book of which he took most of the lines from for his book, if not probably the most inspiring book for him on his creation of " dune ".

There's so many incredible scenes in this movie but this might be my favourite. Everything about Paul from his walk to his voice shows a different man. As if the water of life killed Paul Atreides for the Lisan Al-Gaib to be born. Stilgar dropping to his knees as he completely believes in Paul's battlecry. It's equally heroic and horrifying to watch unfold.

When he said "nobody in this room can stand against me" and all the fremen pulled out their knives would make me shit buckets. Props to him for not buckling.
"As it was written"....Literally
The scene shot from above as Paul moves through the huge crowd of Freman is a visual reference to him being the Kwisatz Haderach. In Dune part 1 Mohiam says "Like sifting sand through a screen we sift people". The scene from above resembles grains of sand with Paul sifting through them but being separate because he is the Kwisatz Haderach that the Bene Gesserit have been working towards all those years.
Nice one
One thing I love about this edit, is how the music really decides whether you’re the hero or the villain.

Man I wish there was a whole movie showing Paul at his peak power, just being OP as fuck. We get a taste of it here after he drinks the water of life but it’s towards the end of the movie. Dune messiah results in Paul basically renouncing his godhood. But man I just wish there was a whole movie of him just being light years ahead of everyone else. Also frank Hubert wrote this as a cautionary tale but I find it funny that everyone is making videos glorifying Pauls ascendance to godhood but I don’t blame everyone because it’s so badass.
If Herbert wanted us not to follow him, he shouldn't have made him so intoxicating. 🤣 It's almost like we never got to see peak Anakin or Vader and now everything is filling that in. I hope we don't have to wait 30 years for a peak Paul TV show. I won't make it. 😅

Humble Opinion... It is far better.
It makes sense to be better, it s a much newer movies
It’s hard to judge greatness without the context of the times.
The fact that Empire Strikes Back, released almost 45 years ago, can continue to be spoken about with such reverence so long after it released is a feat not to be compared to something that is still so new.
I loved Dune 2. Best movie in recent memory. Deserves all the praise it gets and to be considered this generations Empire Strikes Back.
But not better than.
@@artsohc and George Lucas says Star Wars has been inspired a lot by Dune.
I love Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back, but I think as movies that stand on their own, Star Wars Empire is blown out of the water by Dune: Part Two, if we're comparing. And it may be an unfair comparison given that Dune has been made in more modern times with better tools and effects. If we're comparing acting, cinematography, direction, and other movie aspects, Dune by far.
But if we're just comparing movies based on cultural significance, then that's unfair to Dune as well because we don't know its impact as of yet. A few things work with Star Wars, like you can watch this with your kids. You can't with Dune. You can market Star Wars merch like hell, you can't with Dune.

And while the database is updated live with every change you make, the general flow of events won't change. Sort of the assumption that if someone killed Hitler as a baby, someone else would have risen in his place anyway.
That is Paul Mua'Dib Atreides. And it scares himself when he realizes the extent and also limitation of his powers.
@@halleffect5439seeing the future and seeing peoples private thoughts are basic science?
It was false from the beginning to the very end and Fremen were nothing more than victims of Paul's vast power and his vengeance. That's exactly the thing that Pardot Kynes warned his son against: that too charismatic religious leader will pull the Fremen away from creating their own paradise on Arrakis. That's what Paul did, he promised them green paradise and in truth destroyed Fremen culture and heritage on Dune.
I have not read the whole story. But from what I do know from watching the movie is that although Paul is not necessarily the saviour they were waiting for, he is the one they need. Paul IS special. Paul IS competent. Paul IS an excellent leader. There comes a point where, if someone so powerful and knowledgeable comes around, and gives you the best bet to get the outcome you seek... is it truly a terrible thing to 'settle' for him? Will someone better REALLY come around?
The Harkonnen wish to wipe them out -- seeing them as an thorn in the side of their operations. The Emporor cares nothing for the Fremen people, so long as spice continues to be delivered by the Harkonnen they are content and overlook any injustice or brutality exacted upon them. The Great houses and Merchant guild of course share this attitude of ambivalence towards the Fremen people. They all know the terrors of Dune, but they choose not to intervene.
Paul does care. Yes he has his own agenda too, but from what I know thus-far -- he does intend to achieve the Fremen dream. He is not just using the Fremen at no risk to himself.
The Fremen are a people who were held prisoners by the lies of the Bene Gesserit. Paul uses it to spur them into action instead of allowing those same teachings to keep them contained in a state of 'waiting' for a saviour. Unfortunately he has not had the luxury of time to attempt a less controversial method to unite the people, and how could he? Its no simple task to combat centuries of dogma and he doesn't have time. If taking the high road would lead to the death of them all, himself and the Fremen, then i'm not going to argue he should have just died in peace and accepted such a fate.
Paul might be the manipulator they needed, maybe in the future, in less desperate times their eyes will open and they will come to see that Paul was not a divine guide... just a really incredible human being who took advantage of circumstances for their (The Fremen) own benefit as well as his own.
But hey, i'm yet to read Dune: Messiah and the other books, maybe I've got this totally wrong. I look forward to finding out!
well to be honest theres no on in the book who is the real messiah, it never existed even after the end of all the books. but paul is the one they been waiting for centuries he was the Kwisatz Haderach because he was the first male one existed in the movie that powerful enough to bridge space and time, pass and future thats why fremen see paul as the voice of the outer world because he is. no one ever come close to becoming Kwisatz Haderach with in the existing movies but in the book there is one but i wont say it but it was part of his bloodlines. paul is not fake, he is the way. he was able to freed fremen from oppression against the great houses. without paul atreides eventually fremen will be swept from humanity because they are being hunted
just the moment paul was able to freed fremen oppression thats where people view paul as the villian but in fact, paul and fremen where the one being hunt. in short, its all the about the eye beholder who can tell who is the villian in the movies. they show you what they want to show you but not the other way around
As someone who has read the books, this is well said. Paul is walking the line of manufactured destiny and rebellious free will. After the water of life he sees that the only way forward (to prevent human stagnation) is to push forward with the "golden path." But he refuses to allow himself to be manipulated or controlled by anyone, which tragically becomes his downfall.
"THEY HAVE WAITED CENTURIES FOR MY COMING, BUT I AM NOT WHAT THEY EXPECTED.
I HAVE ARRIVED BEFORE MY TIME, AND THEY DON'T KNOW IT."
I don't get the whole "Paul uses them" shit. They use Paul just as much if not more. They used him for his weapons, they use him to lead them. If it weren't for him they'd still be suffering, not getting anywhere
This movie shows how powerful and scary faith and fanatical devotion can be
Fanatical is bad no matter in what. Faith has nothing to do with it.
@@michabarwikowski9145 isnt being a fanatic same as being overreligious zealot?
That is exactly what Frank Herbert was going for.
@@Greeko_Poloz yep
@@patrik9328 What do you mean by being overeligious zealot? For example people who kill for christianity? Well they are not very religious then, because they are not following the 5th rule. Calling them overreligious is like calling Hitler overcaring for jews.
“I will lead you to PARADISE!!”
Best part of the movie. Great edit 👍
The moment when Paul Aterides' character changed entirely.
This was my favorite scene in the whole movie. Rows by rows, people start kneeling down before him. The power he has and his transformation from Paul to the Kwiztach Haderach was utterly *chilling* in theatres 🥶💙
I pride myself as an independent human being but gods help me when a charismatic leader religious leader like this rise up under the banner of my religion. I might just throw myself in his cause....to paradise!
For real 😂 we gotta be careful. If Paul told me he's AlMahdi I might as well believe him with that Charisma and passion he has lol. Fun fact: I'm Shia Muslim and I do actually wait for AlMahdi and pray for his return daily, so this scene kinda touches my heart. I only wish to see AlMahdi's face even once before I die.
This gotta be one of the best most cinematic edit I've ever seen for Dune so far
One of the best film scenes ever 🥵
That is what happen when you have the entire memory of a race.
I am from Saudi Arabia, the harsh weather conditions here enriches a deep rooted spiritual longing among people. Islam promises of eternal paradise "وجنات تجري من تحتها الانهار” which literally translates to “Paradise forests where rivers flow beneath it” here where there are no rivers in the Arabian peninsula and very scarce water sources. I think this movie captures a bit of the essence of the spiritual longing of the Arabs, their cry for life and what gave them the strength to conquer the world during the Islamic conquest.
what we cry for is only 2 things Mehdi to come and after that Isah a.s. from there Paradise
Nah it shows how religion poisons and turns people to brainless followers. Paul basically enslaved an entire race to his bidding because of their belief in him.
@ssj4rit The difference is, Islam wasn't created artificially or man made. It's undeniably from God. Nobody who truly believes in the religion is blindly following it. We are content.
It's a well-known fact that there are many, many borrowings from Islamic/Arab culture in Dune. Try reading the book if you like the movie and you'll quickly see it for yourself.
Thats what fremen believes like you @@mazzo-4k If muhammed was a prophet ,why he didnt ban sex slave trades , why he used to do sex slave trades on daily basis, why he used to gift conquer territory women to become sex slave under his soldiers . Why muhammed married a 6 year when he himself was more than 50(moral degeneracy,) if he was truly a prophet then he would have enhanced the morality but he reduces it
The best movie I’ve ever seen in a theatre
This speech alone os Oscar worthy
this is by far the best edit ive seen for this...and yes dune is unbelievably awesome!
damn i watched it in theatre 4 times due to these scene
This scene and the fight with Feyd-Rautha at the is what sold me. If Timothee Chalamet isn’t nominated for best actor for this film, the game is rigged
Beware of the charismatic leaders…
This could've been a whole trailer for the movie on its own
Strong performance from Tim! His portrayal of power gave me chills the first time I saw it in the cinema. Especially impressive because of his slender frame and un-intimidating looks. Also reminds me of his speech in the The King (2019).
It was nearly something from a play from Shakespeare
