According the fire department the fire burned over the top of the route 2 tunnel at Money Creek but your graphic shows the fire line quite a distance from that tunnel.
This animation was done based on data collected from the flyover at 7:41pm on September 13, if the burnover happened after that, this wouldn't reflect that.
Thnx....I hope all of Grotto has left, but things are getting better as the fire burns on the other side of hiway 2. Gold Bar resident on a hill- mountains and the air is much clearer and no ash the last 2 days. I feel for the wildlife also.
I know 1 guy in Groto im a Baring resident .Groto is looking ok thay saved the well from burning he sent me pics it's looking hopeful and in Baring things also look good. Thair is always the possibility things can change for the worst but as for now things are looking to get better .no power so no we'll water but we lose power up her for months at a time in the winter so take it for what it is , the river has watter and I know I have a way to filter it .

@@Andyjamesontheweb good to hear looked like thair was a small fire up by tunnel creek but I think that one is out . Hopefully the road opens so you all don't have to go east to go shopping for too long .I herd rumors Kohl's corner was out of fuel
Did she have to drive east and go i90 out? Few of my nabors got stuck in skykomish so Thay walked the train tracks down past the highway closure to get back to Baring

Must be an outdated boundary line. The boundary line on inciweb.nwcg.gov shows down to the highway/river in that area.

Thick smoke still but it rained this morning. Ground is damp and leaves are wet in Scenic still. A good sign.
