Excellent video and I find your choices of fountain pens enlightening, my interest in fountain pens for 2024/2025 has been Asvine, I just recently purchased one, however, I have yet to start to write with it, but I shall. Thanks for sharing this video!
My taste in nibs has changed over time. I used to only go for B, M and stubs. Now I‘m gravitating towards F and even EF. But in reality, I love them all depending on my mood. I really like JOWO pens because of interchangeability of nibs (Lamy too and TWSBI with different nib sections).
JOWO nib units are amazing in general. I love how easy they make changing nibs especially since I am in a phase where I want to try all the different nib grinds. I do think I am going to make giving fine and extra fine nibs a fair shot this year because I do really love the look of fine handwriting (just not mine!).
I like how you stayed true to your favorite pen. I love my twsbi ecos a ton and would give it a high ranking even amongst my more expensive pens. Not sure what my number one is yet. We’ll see this year.
Thank you! Rating a number 1 pen is always hard. If I ranked based on the one that was the most fun, it would probably be the Mag650, if I picked the one I could write with the longest, that would be another, or if I picked the one that I was able to write prettiest letters with, yet another. I just went with most used/pen that I default to.
Very interesting choices. I am that EF/F girl that writes pretty small so I appreciate seeing the fun ways you use your pens and nibs. This was a great video, thanks for sharing.
@@peggylove1 thank you so much!! I envy you fine and extra fine people, the precision blows me away. I am just too sloppy of a writer to pull it off lol
It is really a beautiful pen and to be honest, I enjoy writing with it more than the FPR pen, but because it was not inexpensive, I am a lot more hesitant to reach for it. That is something I will hopefully get over at some point!
I also have the HongDian N23 in White Rabbit with the Long Knife Nib and it is one of my very favorites. I reach for it before I reach for my more expensive pens. A delight to write with.
It is such a great pen! Not only is the nib great, but I really love the weight of it too. Even though the grip is smooth, it somehow manages to not feel slippery. I would love it if they would make more colors (not for me! I swear! For gifts! I promise haha)
I love ink so much, I think I just really like seeing that much ink on the paper. It definitely helps me get through my ink supply! I am sort of shocked at how much I love that Benu nib. I can't wait to see how it acts with more ink throughout this year.
Oh that is a great point! Maybe I could ease into the idea of fine pens with a Benu since they are generally smooth, and I could maybe avoid the "cutting into the paper" feeling I don't like with fine points.
Girl, as a flex girlie myself, I cannot recommend Les Sheely's nibs from Stylosuite highly enough. I also have the magna carta and the Regalia crossflex and neither holds a candle to Les's X-wing Harpoon nibs. Where are you located? Maybe he will be at a show near you? I have some videos about him and his nibs on my channel if you want to check them out.
Yes! You have already penabled Les and Sylosuite just from your videos and they are at the very very top of my flex pen wishlist, and by very top, I mean so very far above anything else! I would like to go to a pen show this year, and if I do, I’m only going if he is going to be there (completely serious). I’ll be the one camping his booth before he even opens like you were 😂
You have me intrigued on the Nahvalur. I also love flex pens and your writing sample demonstrated how dang fat it is. I will investigate. I second the FPR gold ultra recommendation. I have it in the same White Ice Jaipur you have and I like it better than my MC 600. I bought a used Namiki Falcon in 2024 and it makes me smile when I write with it. Pilot makes some wickedly awesome nibs. Try one… Thanks for your channel.
Which Octopus ink is in the Gravitas? I also broke the piston on my Jaipur V2. I now unscrew the nib section and eye deep fill the pen and write on. Great collection.
The Octopus ink is Medusa. It is a really nice purple with some sheening. I just cleaned all of my pens, and it amazes me how often I forget that I can just unscrew the nib assembly on some of my pens. That is a great workaround for the piston issue!
That is an excellent question, because the smell you are talking about is terrible! The Jaipur V2 Fountain Pen Revolution pens do not have any sort of smell, at least not any of the cracked ice style resin pens. I haven't purchased an ebonite version so I am not sure about those. The Himalaya V1 and V2 pens DO have a smell, but the smell is coming from the converter, not the pen itself, at least with the ones I have had. Because it is just the converter, it isn't very noticeable while using the pen, but I do notice it when I clean them. Noticeable, but nothing like Noodler pens though. I do think getting the Ultra Flex nib Jowo nib assembly with the ebonite feed might be the way to go for most people, especially if they already have a pen that they like that takes that type of nib.

Magna Carta 650 is my favorite from your top, it's my Grail pen
It is really a beautiful pen and to be honest, I enjoy writing with it more than the FPR pen, but because it was not inexpensive, I am a lot more hesitant to reach for it. That is something I will hopefully get over at some point!
Great video! The Magna Carta flex nib is my favorite for everyday writing in my journal.
It is so much fun to write with. I especially enjoy when I can sit down and write entire pages with it!
Thanks for sharing your Interesting collection, I may have to try an architect nib this year. I enjoy flex pens too!

Have you tried the Fountain Pen Revolution ultra flex with a gold nib in the $200 price range?
I have not! That is another thing on the wish list. I really want to see how it compares to the Mag600/650
We’re a month in and you’ve already got 5 pens😮 I’ve only inked up two this year
I have a problem with keeping sort of a crazy number of pens inked at once. I 100% acknowledge this about myself. I admire your restraint!
Omg I love your glasses. The seafoam green on the bottom rocks.
Thank you so much! They are those Pair glasses with the tops you can change around
I love Broad nibs and architects. The wet wet Benu nibs are an also a favorite of mine. As is the Mag 600/650

You have issue with scratch fine nib pens? Get an Asvine. I haven't purchased a scratchy nib from Asvine yet. Nor Jinhao for that matter.
Interesting, I believe I have an Asvine fine that I haven't used in quite a while. I'll have to get that into my rotation this month. Thanks!
I just discovered the long knife nib and loving it too!
That darn long knife nib is 100% responsible for my architect grind nib buying frenzy of last year haha I really do love it!
I get it, I'm not a fine nib pen user. However, there are some brands where the fine work ok such as the Benu
Oh that is a great point! Maybe I could ease into the idea of fine pens with a Benu since they are generally smooth, and I could maybe avoid the "cutting into the paper" feeling I don't like with fine points.
You look great!

hello maam ;-0 wher u get that plain scratched copper - metallic coffee cup ?
Hello! That coffee mug is just the copper Ember mug (the kind that had a base that charges the cup and keeps your coffee/tea warm).
Where did you buy your last pen?
The last pen is from Fountain Pen Revolution and is a Jaipur V2. The website is fprevolutionusa.com
I've heard FPR pens smell bad. Is that true ?

@@WhimsyofThingsOops, it was the Noodler's brand. But, thank you for telling me about FPR brand too.
Not a fan of ef or f either
I could maybe do a fine, I have serious doubts about ever wanting an extra fine though. And a needlepoint?? I could never!
