Marcel, the background noise(sounds sort of like a water feature) is an annoying audio distraction from your speaking and playing. ( just saying )otherwise- cool!
Nothing fancy. I use D'addario Medium Phospher Bronze and I change my strings often. Generally, bluegrass guitarists take every opportunity to change strings. There's no magic string that will stay bright and we really need all the help we can get!
Many thanks, I currently use Elixir light on my Martin, but your D"addario sounds more bright.I live in South Africa and luckily we get D'addario here as well. Again thanks for the comments and continue with the good work.
No problem! They say you need enough tension on the strings to "drive" the top of the guitar. So a lot of times light strings will make a great guitar feel under powered but medium strings will make the guitar vibrate more and be louder/cut more, etc. Happy picking!
Bluegrass and flamenco are the only guitar youtube channels that try to charge you for fuckin everything. When will they realize they can make that money giving 90% of it away for free?
Then I humbly and sincerely apologize. I just love bluegrass guitar and I try to grab every little shred of info I can( which consistently proves to be very little). Im excited you said that and will look forward to supporting it. Respect the way you handled that. Peace
You sure know your way on the fretboard mister! Great video and study material!
Really elegant explanations man. Nicely done.
Outstanding teaching/playing/ presentation/communicating.
great info.
i like the ascending/descending slide ideas too. never thought of that before
Another awesome lesson dude!
Best lesson on youtube
Wow! Thank you so much
Do you use that D shape position much? I don't at all- that little jog in the pattern kills me!
Buster B Jones always suggested you need to practice your licks in all keys.
is there a leaky faucet back there ?
I'm guessing fish tank.
Vraiment une vidéo très intéressante ! 👍
Why are fretting notes that should be played open? D and G
Do you use all 5 positions in each key or just one position
+Marcel Ardans (Lessons With Marcel) thank you... this helps alot
Curious as to the guitar. Looks like my custom D
Every time I listen to this I have the sudden urge to pee.....

TL;DW: if you learn a lick, learn to play it in all positions on the fretboard
Speaking of doing things wrong, that last note should be a downstroke.
