This is absolutely brilliant, one missing aid would have been a tabbing out of the exercises that you demonstrated for easier access to them for those of us who have trouble with the "difficult step" you refer to in both G and C - PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING - this is the best "language lesson" I've ever seen/heard

Tarzan like theory but make head hurt. Must watch again...and again...and again.... Tarzan like pain, too.

Thanks Marcel, Very useful to point out the "practice stops" regarding scales. Sometimes I find it hard to prioritize my practice time and I find myself just beating up the same old crap and not getting anywhere.

I'm a fiddle player who needs to up her bluegrass game, and I'm learning so much from you! You do an amazing job presenting incredibly useful, enlightening material. Depth, pace, graphics...genius. I'm SO GRATEFUL.

I've been doing similar things with licks but never in these strict analysis/practice steps. Seems the way to go, thanks Marcel!

Hey Marcel, at the 7:10 mark you do an exercise "that might sound something like this" and then you go on to say that you need to stop right now and practice until you can do that over and over forever. Can you do a lesson on just what you are doing right there? Really break it down for us? You say it's very important to know but I'm not sure I fully understand what it is that I am supposed to memorize/comprehend. Thank you!

Thanks so much for this video, your teaching style is the best! And since you shouted out the nerds... the Dorian mode doesn’t have the flatted 6th! (4:50) Just kidding, great video!

Every so often I make a mistake on purpose just so people aren't intimidated by how perfect I am. Also, I swear I meant to say major sixth.

I've been playing bluegrass guitar for over 30 years. I don't know anyone, ANYONE, who speaks in these technicalities. 99.99% of the people I talk to, play with, or follow, never use this many references to theory, etc

Hey Caleb! Thanks for the compliments, I started fooling around on my brother's guitars when I was around 13. But I didn't start playing bluegrass until I was around 21!

What's it so damn hard to fake bluegrass? I've been able to fake-know what I'm doing over any other genre until I started Flatpicking.
Now I accidentally have to know what I'm playing and why I'm playing it?!? Help us lazy folk with a "shortcut how to impress your friends that are better than you at guitar" video.

I highly recommend losing all the music terms and references, and simply demonstrate your licks
