Bro I cannot say how thankful I am, my motor was stuttering and cogging, and I gave up on it until today, once I recalibrated the esc to the motor it runs so smooth, I’ve been stuck with this problem for the past year.

Dude, your a life saver. Bought a used Kyosho mad van and never been happy with the setup. The manual is not very descriptive and couldn't get an answer on forums etc. Now setup perfect. Great video 👍👍👍

I'm a pretty technically minded bloke but I admit I was a little intimidated by the setting up of new Hardware on these thing but now I'm feeling a little more confident, pretty easy really.

Worthless information if your model doesn't use this method .. many different models of esc with many different ways to calibrate
Ah well, you're entitled to your opinion as much as I'm entitled to disagree.
@@pyrace it's not an opinion it's a fact. The video makes it sound like all esc are calibrated this way and most are not. So like I said it's worthless if yours is different and useful if yours happens to be one that it will work this method. Hopefully it did work for you 👍

This video saved me by changing my typhon mega from brushed motor to brusheless motor and the esc and it did not give recoil I did not know what it was so I looked I found this video I did not know that I had to calibrate it thanks
I just changed my nephew's mega to brushless with a cheap combo so it wouldn't be too fast for him. Got flycolor 45 amp esc motor combo figuring it'd be perfect for 2s lipo but it's clogging out and has really weak reverse now. Idk if u have any tips but if so please lmk . Thx

Same problem my throttle will only work if I try to turn then when I got the trigger nothing

I’m having trouble?!?!I was driving my rebuild rustler and now the motor doesn’t work it just keeps making a ticking noise and the wheels don’t move they just keep moving back and forth like something is blocking it but when it’s off you can move the motor freely
same with me bro now idk what to do. i only can move left right but the esc still blinks 3 times and cant move

At :53 you mention that the throttle adjustment should be set to zero before proceeding with calibration, yet the manual for my EZRUN-WP-SC8 says to "set the EPA/ATV value of throttle channel to 100%". Why the difference? Great videos. Thanks.

So I'm not getting full speed going forward but I'm getting full speed in reverse I calibrated it three times even the opposite way I haven't found a solution is my ESC just bad?
Try swapping any two of the motor wires :-)

Not familiar with some of those brands, but the Tamiya RS540 is a brushed motor. If that ESC can operate in brushed mode, then yes that sounds all good :-)

OK so I did all these steps to the T on my Redcar shredder w\sc8-rtr ESC, neutral beeps once, throttle beeps twice, brakes beeps 3 and I wait holding brakes until it beeps an blinks green then it starts flashing red and I let go of brakes and nothing happens, I still get no throttle or brakes just steering works, is there something I'm doing wrongly?

When I'm turning on my RC car ESC glows red light for 2 seconds without flashing idk what to do, just recalibrate it? Before it was normaly giving me the sound signal right with turning the switch on. Now it has like 2 seconds delay before the sound signal.

Hey I have a brontosaurus pro in for some reason I have a full charge battery the esc just flash green does that mean my lipo battery is bad it just turns don't move but I can put a 850 mAh lipo battery in it in it work for a sec then cuts off

Mine won't do the process it'll beep once but it doesn't beep at all during the calibration what am I doing wrong is it the shitbox R-45 3ch receiver I got from redcat racing or is it that I don't know where to plug receiver's in. Cause I know it's not the esc.

I have a JLB Cheetah 11101 c/w a DumboRC X4 transmitter. I have been having problems while attempting to reverse the vehicle. It seems to be a 'hit or miss' scenario. Sometimes I can push the trigger all the way forward (in order to reverse the vehicle) but I get no response.Forward seems to be working fine. Any suggestions?🤔

If u have forward brake and reverse .. u can't go straight from forward into reverse because it damage the gears .. forward .. if u brake then return to neutral and wait a second then reverse ... Just work out how long u need to delay before trying to hit reverse
The reason I was having trouble reversing the vehicle was because I had the throttle trim on the transmitter turned down too low. On my tx, it has to be set slightly to the right of 12:00 in order to engage the reverse gearing.
My esc never goes green, and I can not get it to program in right order, it does neutral fine, but nothing at full throttle. But if it full brake it beeps twice then let's me go full throttle beep 3 times. But now reverse way faster than forward. I've tried several time to get it to program in right order, wtf am I doing wrong

Hard to say without more info - what esc, what radio, any flashing leds? Are you sure the throttle channel is working/dual rate turned up?
Hi mate,im a newbie to RC n i have only 1 truck,a JLB J3 SPEED,I just bought this esc from eBay and I'm having trouble calibrating it to the truck,I'll hold "set" n switch it on,the red light flashes(the next step is the issue) while it's flashes I'll push "set"again (while in neural on control) n the light is supposed to go green,mine doesn't do this,it just stops beeping with no light,...PLEASE HELP....lol...i dont no if this is a factor but when I turn on the control (Dumborc) my steering servo twitches slightly.
Im having trouble with my kyosho inferno neo 3.0 ve, when it accelarates it works perfect but when i try to hit the brakes, it like the car doesnt have brakes, i dont know if the problem is with the esc or something else. Please i need help finding the solution. Every electronic is stock
i just built my first rc car and after a while of driving the esc slowly switched the brake funcion with the throttle, and the reverse is when i pull the trigger (supposed to be forwards). i tried this but it didnt work, and i dont know what that esc is and dont have a manual. is there another way to reset it?

Casey Vitti yea i opened it up, it had the 2 mosfets just gone in to ashes, ima get a new one for 5euro from my friend if i cant fix it. the only problem is i have tons of mosfets but cant find the datasheet for the burnt ones. my gens 5300mah still ok, but maybe i cant see the puff bc of the hard case.

That ESC uses the exact same programming protocol as in the video. If it no longer has the set key, you'll need a compatible program card.
I cant seem to be able to enter reset mode. I hold the reset button, turn on amd it still just beeps twice with the gteen flashing light. I have put the controller on first and made sure all batteries are charged.
Try cleaning the whole switch assembly out with contact cleaner - it sounds like the set button isn't working.

In the programming menu, it's the first option. Set it to 2 beeps :-) There's a table of all the programmable items in the instructions.

Hey everyone. I just inherited a 1/8 rally car from my father (who is no longer able to use it due to illness). I don’t have a manual and trying to work out what the heck I am doing. The car works but am I able to adjust the throttle as it is so sensitive. I have tried the instructions in this video but I don’t get a beep when I release the button next to the on switch (very first step) it’s a hobby king car using a 120a ESC. Any help would be appreciated very much. I also cannot find any manual online....
I just got a used rc car and it has the same esc as in the video but when I try to run the car only the steering works and the esc blinks green 3 time. Do you know how to fix this? I can’t find anything about this when I look it up
According to the manual, the green LED flashing 3 times means Over-Heat Protection :-/

dose this work on MST 2.5 RTR cars? i just got one and it seems to be LOCKED on Throttle when i plug battery in it just takes off even if the car is set to off on its switch
I'm going to assume it has a brushed ESC? If it goes full throttle without the switch even being turned on, then it sounds like the ESC has burned out and is just sending the full voltage of the battery to the motor :-/

After a quick google, the car looks to be a rebrand of the Xinlehong 9125. So while the car can technically run 3s, be careful it doesn't overheat as it's technically not recommended. Fun though!
Thanks! it resolved car running out when radio was powered off. But I have another issue, when radio is powered off, the digital servo is moving aleatory. Is that a form to resolve this problem? Thanks in advance!
The radio should be the first thing on and the last thing off; never have the car switched on without the radio being on 🙂

My problem with this one is when i put it on the grass it wont drive fast..

Hi mate make sure your wheel bearings move freely I had that issue if that does not work I would consider getting a 5200mah zeee battery mine flies now thanks to that If not tires could be it make sure its not too heavy remember your tires could get water of or dirt in them just my experience

You might need a program card for that, have you checked the instructions?
Dear admin... I too using the same model, but drift type... I just wanted to know why when I accelerate the car moving forward it run slow but when I reverse the backward it run faster... any setting problems
Swap the 1 of the 3 motor's cable.
I did find this useful but I'm still a bit lost as to changing the parameters as in push settings, brake force ect cuz ive yet to get this rc car to get reverse, well full reverse anyway. It's very weak and makes clicking sounds which just doesn't make sense considering ive gone thru the rear diff, spur gear, pinion.... Everything! I just don't get it and I don't ha e any decent hobby shop near me that isn't Traxxas biased soo.... any help is much appreciated, by anyone evenin comments, idc I just want my nephew to be able to enjoy the car I got him. Typhon mega.550 brushed, now brushless since the original setup was also just garbo.

I have a redcat tornado, sometimes it will go into reverse but very rare. I recalibrated the car and it still doesn't go reverse only forward and turning, can anyone help?
I did the calibration and it went well I think but after a while, after reverse, I let go the trottle, it still reverses automatically without me pressing any trigger. I hope you could advife in this. Thanks 😀
That’s because you don’t put your throttle trim to zero..
If it was calibrated correctly u shouldnt need to move trim .. but he may have adjusted trim with out knowing

Another point that may be worth mentioning, the brakes work fine while reversing, but not so well while going forward.🤔🤔
I had a similar problem and calibration did not help. But, switch two wires from motor that connect to the esc, and keep an eye on your transmitter, mine was in reverse , but once I switched the wires it needed to be in normal. Because of this my breaks stop on a dime now going forward. Hope it helps!

After I start it and its beeping, when I click it again it just goes quiet and the light turns off
That sounds like the first step; when you press it for the first time (after holding it down) the beeping should stop. You then move on to calibrating the throttle and brake end points.
hi, i just put the goolrc motor and esc combo in my tamiya cars it works great, but if i try it in a wltoys car i get the stutter? i can lift the car up and it runs fine, but on the ground it struggles at first to get moving? i really like these wltoys cars but the brushless issue is puzzling
wltoys are really high gearing , if you used a small motor they cog hard.
