    Mornin' Phil, nobody puts Baby in the corner. How are you liking your new CB rotisserie... I ordered the power adapter at the same time, but those D batteries should last for 3-4 cooks. You sure do know how to put out a good spread... everything looked great!!! I'm going to make it down there for one of your game day cooks... lol. The rotisserie makes for a nice juicy bird... my next favorite way to cook a chicken is to spatchcock it. Thanks for the video... You and Mama have a great day... biggsinflorence : )

      Biggs' Home Cookin' Hey Chris, yea that was a lot of food and lot of prep, but it's worth it. I love ham and veggie leftovers when they're grilled. The rotisserie worked good. Batteries held up okay. It took longer to get done due to charcoal being in bottom vs. Kettle setup bird in middle using kidney pans or SnS on side at 5 inch level. I thought of that before, but wanted to stack the food to see what it would do. My truss was fine, but you need double forks when doing two birds. As they cook they get loose and flop around. Another one in the books. You see any reason this video won't monetize? Mentioning the full name of a university football team maybe?

      No I don't Phil... it was either Gamecocks or Cajun Bandit, but like Christy said, it is resolved in a short period of time. From what I noticed, before the 1,000 view mark. If that was the case, my videos would still be demonetized... lol

    Looking like a great setup, ty for sharing. I am curious as to how you control the temperature though, given how much air can leak in and out of a WSM.

    • @progers5019
      @progers5019  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RB1844
      Thanks for watching and commenting. About temp control. I hardly ever use the water pan because I love the open pit flavor. However, the water pan does act as a heat sync and is very hepful with that. I use the Thermoworks Smoke thermometer and keep the remote receiver with me to monitor pit and meat temps. Maintaining constant temp requires a little more attention but i have the time. Thanks-Phil

    Hey Phil.....were You cooking for the entire football team or what? :-) Now that's how to load up that WSM! I'm guessing you're liking the first run with the CB rotisserie ......it's Heavy Metal.
    It also gives you more room to add layers of racks, which apparently you like and need for all that food! :-) I wouldn't be too concerned about using a battery......they last longer than you think.
    But getting the adapter is a good idea. Keep on Rockin' My Friend! \m/

    • @progers5019
      @progers5019  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heavy Metal Bar-B-Que Yeah, my late daddy instilled in his 6 children that "More is Better". He was always inviting people over to eat, sometimes when mom didn't even know about it. Some people don't like crowds at their house, but the more the better. Guess he was a party animal and didn't know it. Lol. I like the CB accessory and Rotisserie. It took an hour longer on cook time having the charcoal deep in the belly and with all the food. I guess if you use the kettle setup with the charcoal up higher it would cook faster. I also ordered a pair of Turkey Hangers from PBC, so can go that way too. This was a good cook one of my favorites. The grull veggies store nicely in gallon bags in the fridge. Even enhanced flavors after marinating each other overnight . If you do it do plenty or you will be sorry when the leftover bag only has a few pieces left. Lol

    Quite the feast there, Phil. However, I personally would never cook any type of bird over other foods, it just is not safe practice. Sure, I am pretty reckless in many ways, but not when it comes to poultry. Just a word of caution, my friend. Keep up the great vids.

      Cooking Green Bastard Style Hey GB, it was a feast. I do know about that but i don't think it's an issue outside of being raw on the tabletop and preparation. At those high temps and 3 hour time period, the bad juices were turned into good juices. Like cooking Brunswick Stew when you put raw chicken, beef, and pork all in the same pot. Anyway, the back door trots haven't hit me yet. Lol However, I understand what you're saying. Thanks for stopping by. RO
