Yes. Finally a good year for films. JoJo Rabbit and Richard Jewell were two of my favorites. But 1917 was my absolute favorite. Not fond of the implausibilities of Parasite. But that's just me. I loved Snowpiercer though.

Diego Pisfil It doesn’t have an Editing nom. 9 out of the past 10 Best Picture were nominated for Editing (Birdman was the exception). It’s almost impossible for a film to win Best Picture without an Editing nom, even more impossible than not having a director nod.

BAFTA would not put forward any feature film for an award without minorities playing in a positive role. The defence for this is feature films are not reality they are entertainment. explanation for outsiders BAFTA, is a cheap version of the Oscars, or the Cannes Film Festival. This 1917 is not history it is a feature film entertainment.
pizza I praise the acting as well as the cinematography. I just feel like the story could’ve been worked out a little better and the score should’ve been cut down a little more to create a little more ambience and tension within the atmosphere. My personal favorite war movie is All Quiet on the Western Front.

And the scene with the baby is one of many scenes that transform his point of view and make him decide to return back home.
