I carried that uncomfortable hunk of metal up my Wazoo for 2 years ... and now little man , I give this p38 to you ! 🤣🤣🤣
Didn't he refer to the p38 as a p55, wtf is that?
@@mikeb.6705 p55 is a jumbo p38 .
@Timothy Mckee I was referring to the can opener in his hat ... the pistol is a whole nuther level of discomfort !
Kinda a comedic non sequitur , butt hey ... 😳
It was a P51. The P38 was the small can opener that was given to the individuals. The P51 was usually used by the cooks, it was larger so it was easier to open the large #10 cans they would have to open at the mess trailer.
Great review, just a thought:
They shouldn't have placed the logo on the outside, it sort of defeats the whole inconspicuous application of this accessory. As more and more people see and know about these sort of hats, they won't actually go unnoticed and the logo will be a giveaway that something may be stashed. Luckily, the logo on the version with the velcro attachment can be covered up by the patch.
Exactly right!
If someone recognizes Wazoo on your cap, it's like a secret handshake. It's a fellow prepared brethern/cistern(sp?).
You never know what Sootch00 is going to pull out of his hat.😂
Or his wazoo
Hahaha yup
Imagine what you could fit in a cowboy hat
Or an abe lincoln hat lol
If you need a discount let me know i am with wazoo
A cowboy?
Especially a 10 gallon hat.
@@markcampebll5606 Maybe a 10 pound hat...
Your channel is what got me into prepping
Mission accomplished! Thanks Brother
I have their belt. It came fully equipped. It was when they were a Kickstarter.
Wow, an original supporter! Thanks TIN Man! You helped bring that product to life and now it's very popular. Thanks a ton!
This is convenient if you don’t have pockets for some reason...so I guess if you’re on Miami Beach wearing nothing but a speedo and a baseball cap, and you happen to need survival gear, you’re in luck!
Until the wind catches it and blows it out to sea.
#Freethepockets
@@jerrymclellan4711 my thoughts exactly
How well does it handle sweat? Does it soak in through the pockets?
I almost expected you to pull out an ar 15 out of it lol
My experience has been that Murphy was an optimist. Thanks for the review.
Haha, can't argue with that!
Hahahahahahah! Continually awesome outtakes! Thank you Sootch for being so open and honest and hilarious.
You could make this a tinfoil hat AND wear it with no one noticing! Perfect! Nice product, and nice review. 👍
Haha, nice!
How about wazoo does not put their name on the outside of the cap to make it more nondescript they can put their name on the inside
So glad to learn that key is just a 'dummy key' - I still think you should help educate people though.
*** WARNING*** never put footage of keys on social media or yt.
They can be copied from image.
Great idea, specially camping. Thanks Sootch. Happy New Year to you and your family!
Thanks JG!
Great logo . . . . . right on the cap . . . . tells everyone you have a stash in your cap. It would be better if the logo wasn't visible. kind of like a stealth cap that doesn't tip others off.
If someone recognizes the logo on your cap, it's like a secret handshake. It's a fellow prepared brethern/cistern(sp?).
Pairs up well with Grim Workshop dog tag tools.
Right on DANIEL!
A bottle opener? What the hell kind of emergency are you prepping for? A return to the 70s? LOL! I would actually welcome that. Great review.
Some Beer bottle are not twist tops.... that's SHTF! lol! Thanks Rick
@@SensiblePrepper That's true, but they are rare these days. Out of habit I twisted the cap on a long neck beer bottle just the other weekend and ended up snapping the neck! That's 2020 for you!
BTW, love your videos. Happy and safe New Year to you and yours from Canada!
The afterparty!
This is the best "Hat" trick I have ever seen.
😬
A really nice cap. But a wide-brimmed waterproof boonie or outback-type hat will keep you more comfortable in the rain
The worm rake on the readyman card isn't worth carrying. Pick and shims seem to work well enough but the rake did nothing for me.
I believe Zach Fowler, winner of Alone season three, was a proponent for Wazoo and actually wore a Wazoo survival bracelet; orange being his favorite color, the bracelet was orange with brown trim. He used the ferro rod and striker quite often. This hat reminds me of the boonie hats the EOD teams I worked with as their medic and they maintained mini first aid kits, sticks of gum, and whatever else fit in the inside and outside bands. I have one of the Wazoo camo hats with the velcro morale patch field. The items I keep are a dozen stormproof matches with a strike board and some tinder (two vaseline saturated cotton balls) in separate small ziploc bags, a mini Bic in one side pocket and a mini Crocs lighter in the other side. Hats with the velcro field are $30.
Yessir Fowler is a modern-day McGyver! Honored to have him rocking our Cache Cap among other pieces of our gear. Thanks for your support Alexander. Appreciate the feedback on how you like to loadout yours too. That's great!
Add a chin strap , don't want it to blow away , the velcro patch on the front remove the top seam for more stowage , add a flat clip on cap light with extra button batteries , add some chlorofloc packets , a very small sewing kit , ,,, lots of things possible ,,,, even more stowage by making a winter cap with ear flaps with a neck cover .
I notice a lot of people keeping lock picking tools without ever practicing picking locks. I recommend you practice. It will take hours and hours of practice to get good at it. Also that card with no handle will make things even harder.
Now that this is over a year old, how do those pockets hold up? Any stretching? Will that ceramic or ferro rod fall out now that it's been used for a while?
HAPPY NEW YEAR SOOTCHOO AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR A GREAT 2020 YEAR SOOTCHOO!!!!!!! I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS YEAR 2021!!!!
I have one and it is great. Its my favorite hat. Very comfortable even with gear in it.
Wow! Thanks Justin. Means a lot to hear that! Appreciate all your support and continued wearing!
Years ago, when I wore a uniform an ex copper gave me a few tips. 1. Always carry $20.00 inside your hat 2. Always carry $5.00 in your notebook (we were in Law Enforcement) 3. Always carry your hat rain cover inside the sweat band. 4. Always keep a $2.00 coin in your wallet. This hat does most of those things.
Wow, that's some cool prep advice. Thanks for sharing Matthew!
A survival ball cap, that is definitely a new one! 👍
Thanks Chris!
Thinking about buying this for a friend: thanks for the review.
Great review, I think the hat with velcro will hide your cache better. 😊
I love wearing caps and this one is a gem, thank you 😊
Wazoo, how about some different colors, blue, gray,? I have to travel and don’t want to look like a contractor.
Love your bloopers bro, good vid.
Great idea but it seems to sit really high on your head kinda like trying to wear a kids hat, appears to sit more on TOP of your head than on your head (if that makes sense). Could just be the amount or type of items that you put in the hat.
Maybe they could design a different style that sits lower.
Probably just perspective. It's crown is built the same size as your average ballcap.
Grim workshop has some nice stuff that goes well in the cashe cap also they have a patch with a pocket in it for more items
Where did you get the ceramic and ferro rods? I would love something those size to add to my hat.
As a Cop, I can say "stash caps" have been a thing with druggies for YEARS.
Bangers be rock collecting with those caps for decades.
That's the first thing I thought of. Something a drug dealer needing to get passed security in a nightclub would wear.
Guns have also been a thing with druggies... just sayin' ;)
Those are good gifts for my guys (dad, hubs, sons) just for Father’s Day or whatever! Very nice!
You betcha!
I bought the beta version of these caps. Looks like they made them more ergonomic and in different colors. Really good caps, great for non-permissive environments.
Thanks Andy! Always good to have options.
Yeah Andy, tons of new updates on the caps. Thanks for the original support, wouldn't be able to constantly improve if we didn't have folks like you!
@@Wazoo after watching this video, I just had to jump on the website and buy one, with the velcro and patch attachment. GREAT cap! 👍
That’s a great “grey man” accessory ✊🏾 Question: Is that the only two colorways they have?
Naw, we have 6 different colors in both patch and no patch.
Could also hide a few small flat items under the patch.
We make a patch with a pocket so you don't have to do that!
Improvise to survive baby! My favorite videos!
Thanks Brock!!!
Wazoo looks like a good company with some neat products, thanks for bringing them to my attention. Not really interested in this hat but I do really like their Bushcraft Necklace.
Nice to meet ya Jonny! Get in touch if you need anything!
Great idea, but you could sew or velcro a travel pouch on the inside top part of any standard cap
Could, but then you'd be doing a lot more work for a sub-par result.
Did you have all the stuff you showed, in the hat while you had it on in the beginning of the video?
Thanks
Yes he said he did
35 yrs in service. Always called p38. Period.
Tilley hat has a pocket that is huge.
Ours is bigger! 😬
That ceramic rod is the smallest I have seen, do wazoo sell that as well.
Not a rod, just ceramic scrapers that are flat, but can sharpen as well.
The main ssue I have with this hat is that in extreme windy conditions the hat blows away and all is lost. With the Wazoo surival belt this is not so.
Yeah, redundancies and situational strategies for sure.
Eh, I don't know. I guess so? But you would have to have a REALLY strong wind. I've worn this hat going 50mph on a 4 wheeler, and had no issues.
I got one of these for Christmas, cool to get ideas for what to hide in it!
Congrats Andrew! No coal in it right?
Not unless I forage for some!
I wouldn't keep my keys or ID in something that could be blown off my head, but some emergency essentials looks good in there.
Thanks for your thoughts!
That’s neat and some thought went into the design of that hat
Thank! Yes, a lot of thought.
Major flaw; it can be easily swiped off your head in 2 seconds and then you're screwed. Especially if you have a DL or credit card/cash in there.
Interesting and ideal for small things thank you for the video and thumbs up. :)
Thanks Richard!
I forgot these existed! I wish you'd done this before xmas 😂 I definitely need one in my life. The only thing I don't really care for is the velcro. I prefer those zip-tie type straps. They should make different hat types though, that would be. Cool.
Haha, there's lots of holidays coming up!
Pretty cool! Happy new year
Thanks eltenda!
cool idea... but be carefully and dont loose your cap if you were on a boat or on a hill if it is very windy...
Fact!
Cache is French that means hide, and is pronounced like cash
Oui!
The trouble with caps is there is not protection from the sun on your ears. I would rather wear a proper hat, but still. Great product.
Ive carried a small ferrocerium rod,a small zip tie and a razor blade in my hat for years and there I thought I was doing something lol
Yes!!!
Would my NAA revolver fit inside that pocket?
They must love you at security checkpoints. lol. This is an awesome hat though. Might just pick one up.
I can tell you stories...
Industrial velcro can help too
Wazoo definitely has a bunch of great items. Fire starter necklace, Viking sharpening stone, & foraging bandana to name a few that I have and love.
Woohoo!!! Thanks!!!
Love your videos. Thought you would like to know that you are pronouncing "cache" as "cachet".
Haha, yep!
Does it float when unloaded?
I hope they have a trucker cap version for this 😍
Thanks Sootch!
Wonder if this will fit me. Most normal caps are a tight fit on my head and this one is a “one size fits most”
You'd be surprised how it fits most. Check out Corporal's Corner.
What is the link to buy from those who sent you the stuff?
Box of .50
ammo, machete, .22lr takedown rifle, sandwich, flashlight, knife. Great cap 🧢
Sootch buddy, that can open is called a P38, DONT KNOW WHAT UOU CALLED IT BUT THAT AINT RIGHT!
I think the P38s are smaller. There are bigger ones that you find at the surplus stores when they don't have the authentic ones. Maybe those are the 51s or whatever.
😬
Can you get one without the Wazoo embroidery? No point in giving the secrets away to those familiar with the brand.
If someone recognizes Wazoo on your cap, it's like a secret handshake. It's a fellow prepared brethern/cistern(sp?).
@@Wazoo I get your point. Just the same, a sterile version would go further toward the whole 'grey man' strategem. As is, it's 'survivalist chic'. Uh, a cistern is a pit dug to store rain or groundwater. 'Sistern' isn't a word, but it ought to be.
No way I would put anything valuable in a hat. I've lost several over the years. I'll just keep that stuff in my pants pockets. I've only lost one pair of pants in my life and no, I'm not gonna tell you how.
How?
Come on George, get yourself together man!
A good idea to keep your cash in when traveling !
The belts with hidden pockets are way better. No chance of a belt getting pulled off of you or getting blown away by the wind. Same can't be said for a ball cap.
Exactly!
@@Wazoo No. Unless you want your cap filled with cash to be blown off your head. There are belts with hidden pockets which hide cash and won't be blown off your head in a good gust of wind, nor can they easily be removed from your person like a cap off your head. The funniest thing is the same company makes such a belt. So this cap is just silly on multiple levels. It even broadcasts itself by having the name of the company stitched on the outside of the cap for all to read. Best to have the nondescript belts with money hidden inside than this stupid cap which can be torn off your head easily from a robber or even wind.
Best video ever. I need this!!
Thanks for the review. Interesting concept. I like the idea of a handcuff key hidden. A lot of potential there.
Thanks joe!
Didn't you do a T&E on this hat a year or two ago? Seems to me that you did. If so, are you running out of things to evaluate?
What are you evaluating this week?
They were at shot show. Got some of their gear. That hat is cool tho.
Thanks KC for all your support! Hope to see ya again soon!
I have caps that can be easily converted for some small items. Just don't wear on a boat. Lost a lot of hats when we had a bass boat.
Just stay in the No Wake Zones.
Where Im at now, the little lakes have no big boats. Can do offshore and few at fishing holes. A few kayaks, jonboats and row boats are only allowed on almost all. Too small. Many no houses. When we had a bigger boat in a big lake, lots of annoying jetskis running over our fishing lines, etc. Had to fight wakes to get to quiet spots.
I have been looking at these UV hoodies and stuff a lot lately and have been thinking about if anyone has a hat... Food for thought for Wazoo 💡
UV hoodies?
@@Wazoo they are uv proof apparently. People wear them in the summer. I'm just now learning about them too.
dude how do you keep smashing your thumb?
It’s a nice hat I’ve had one about 2 years I also wear the belt every day I love it.
That's awesome! Thanks sooo much for you support! Appreciate ya. And happy to hear everything is going strong after 2 years!
jeez!!! you can put some hair too
I really liked this, really was looking for something like this since I wear ballcaps all the time. But the price is not worth it. Sorry!
The price is definitely worth it!
Cool cap. I'd like to have one.
Get it Mark!
That's really 😎 cool!!! I love this!!
Thank you!!!
@@Wazoo Yw😎
I like this type of hat minus the wazoo on the outside....
If someone recognizes Wazoo on your cap, it's like a secret handshake. It's a fellow prepared brethern/cistern(sp?).
Where is it made
One size fits MOST, better than your prison wallet
😬
He's got gear up the wazoo haha :)
Nailed it!
God as a correctional officer this scares me so much contraband could be smuggled
There's 1000 other ways folks are smuggling things in the prisons. Many times it's the correctional officers. 😬
Don’t lose your hat Indie👍🏼
Noted!
One of the silliest gimmicky products I have ever seen. Ball caps are easily blown off of heads on windy days.
Not when ya got a lot of stuff in them!
Do they make visor's?
Yes, every Cache Cap has a visor built-in. To deploy, simply to trim off the top.
4:03 I would put the cash into a plastic sealed small bag, so it won't get ruined/damaged by humidity, sweat or rain :)
American cash typically doesn't ruin. I've soaked my wallet in the lake and in the rain plenty of times
@@MkGreene nice
Good call!
Its cool but not impressed.
I don't like to put things that I depend on some where it could be easily separated from me.
Good point.
Noted. Also note, we make other gear to wear in other places.
@@Wazoo cool I'll check it out
Just curious, what the foil would be for?
Wind break. Small cup.
foiling problems!
Crack pipe
Some observations.....
Obviously you use a hammer in your right hand and don't like your left thumb much.
I don't wear a hat but this is a marveled idea. Great video.....
