This turned out to be the most successful 007 film and one of the best overall reviewed Bond films in the franchise. A true quality piece and a work of art.

Couldn't be more thrilled about this film. Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Albert Finney with Sam Mendes directing. I'm calling it right now there's a very good chance it'll go down as the best Bond film ever...

@croonlover i really hate to burst the bubble but they are in pre production that means that the sound department hasn't even started let alone composing the soundtrack.

When they anounce the next bond like this in a press conference ,they use stock bond music from a previous bond flick.

I hope he does, he's an amazing actor.
I hope Henry Jackman will get the chance to score the movie. His score for Kick Ass and X-Men First Class is epic. David Arnold scoring five straight James Bond films has pretty much run its course. The new Bond movie needs a new and fresh sound and Henry Jackman is capable of doing that in my opinion.

@MrLoullers I think it will. QoS was rushed due to the writer's strike. It always felt like a rough draft. But they've had a lot of time to work on Skyfall's screenplay so they have no excuse.

God they all seem so nervous, Craig and the villain guy especially, which I think is why we got such short, quick, and abrasive answers on everything. Plus British movie news conference vs American movie news conference...the formality of the british was really getting to Craig. Either that or he was on drugs. Lastly point of news conference if you don't give much info?

As a James Bond aficianado, I hope that Skyfall is a tremendous success, both critically and commercially; the involvement of Sam Mendes as director is particularly promising, and the cast, which includes Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes and Albert Finney, is top notch. However, I also believe that Broccoli and Wilson, the producers, gave Pierce Brosnan, who revived the franchise, a raw deal by the manner in which he was phased out of the role.
I'm interested in the next storyline, is it going to leave off from the last movie? i enjoyed watching Casino Royale and then Quantum of Solace as i was hooked into the story line, perhaps this time around we'll find out a bit more about 'Quantum' and seeing Daniel Craig as Bond who is excellent made me want to go out and buy many more Bond films, so enjoyed them all, todays common place technology has removed Bonds gadgets it seems, it's all about information gathering now, cheers

YESSS the setup and awesome ending of casino royale hyped me up for the new continuation of bond...then qos came out...bleh...hopefully this will be the follow up that royale deserved.

@RaikenXion actually he was suppose to play bond in casino royale but daniel craig was later cast because henry was too young. I think henry has also been promised the role after daniel craig's bond dies out but as of now i am enjoying daniel craig as bond and i cant wait for skyfall

I'm slightly ashamed however that they aren't filming in Jamaica as next features 50 years of Dr No.
Overall, the production sounds very interesting with a great looking cast. I look forward to see the actual release but not so sure about Craig's beard - makes him look like he's returned from a deserted island.
The silly thing, after all this care and secrecy, is that the trailers will reveal the entire bloody film as usual!

I'm a little disappointed to hear that this one won't feature the Quantum organization. Ralph Fiennes would be great as a Blofeld-like character.
Will Q return? I really want him to return aswell as Miss Moneypenny
notice when the title appears some people laugh, the story SURE as hell better pay off.

So I guess the biggest question for me at least is are they planning on continuing the "Quantum" story in a future film?
@TheTlost72 Ofcourse, Moneypenny and Q I think. I dont want them to keep taking these things out just cus they feel it doesnt fit with this whole realistic tone they're going with now. I want to see them do totally different things like make it where Bond is introduced to Moneypenny and they dont get on at first, like MP is really cold with Bond much like M was with him in Goldeneye. Also I want to see Bond finding he has to use sum gadgets (to save his life lol), but he really hates using them

Why didn't anyone ask if this would get an IMAX release, or if they've considered shooting any future films using IMAX cameras? You'd think they'd be first in line to try and amp up the spectacle of action films!

DC is awesome as Bond. Casino Royale was one the best films ever made. QoS, not as much, but still very watchable. I'm cautiously optimistic about Skyfall.
I love how they spend about 30 min. beating around the bush unable to answer a majority of the questions. The ones asking these questions have to know that they won't give out certain information yet.

@58fenix He retired? This is news, I figured he just took a break, perhaps if a good enough script came to him the same way Leonard Nimoy came back to Star Trek because he liked the script for the 2009 film, he might just consider it.
@Ubersnuber how are they wasting people's time? They could only disclose whatever they were allowed to answer. They just started filming not that long ago.
This Bond is closer to the books Ian Flemming's books, of which the movies are based on.

The title's not that bad, let's face it, there have been far worse (Die Another Day anyone?). Bardem will be one of the great Bond villains and Mendes is a proven director who has talked of his love for the Bond films, whereas Forster was an unknown quantity who confessed to never having seen a Bond film. As far as the music goes, I agrees David Arnold has had his day - my choice would be John Murphy, with Adele to sing the song. Just praying this one is a huge improvement on the dire QOS!!!!
