Correction. You can OHKO bosses, if you do enough damage at once. To blow past one shield, you have to do at LEAST 2x the boss' max HP. To blow past two, you have to do 4x max HP. To blow past 3, you have to do 8x max HP. And so on. Or, have a Skill Link Toucannon with the Multi-Lens item and the move Beak Blast.

Rogenrola was second stage and Sobble found in third. Managed to dynamax the latter. Switched it straight into an Eternabeam and reset cause I've never fought Eternatus before. Shellos was the goat. Storm Drain and ground typing alongside map meant Lake>Construction Site>Power Plant for days. Surge just folded, as did Wake 3 separate times. Last one standing. ... As an aside, I got a reward for beating the game with Pichu. And Pikachu. Buggy pokedex. I love Shellos and their Annihilape boyfriend. And the Gigalith Stealth Rocks cutting Rayqauza down to size.
Pichu and Pikachu are separate starters, so I think starting with Pichu made you clear both. Makes me want to try to beat the game starting with Snorlax instead of Munchlax to see if I only pop 1 as they are also separate starters.

wait wait wait wait, hold up. i can confirmed that Boss's can be ohko'd. it's happened twice to me. i'd hit and all HP would be gone. while i have no evidence to prove this. i can confirm this to be the case. unless it's a bug.
the way it works is it takes damage in levels. if you deal damage less than a health bar, it just does damage as normal. if you deal damage more than one health bar, but not enough for two, it will deal all the damage of one health bar without affecting the next, but if you do enough damage to completely bypass both health bars, you can one hit ko a boss with two health bars. hopefully that makes sense lol
