I think due to the climate right now with movies and horror movies in general a Freddy movie wouldn't do too well either unfortunately. You'd have thought with everything the newest Halloween trilogy had going for it they would have had done super well and nailed every beat but we got what we got. Someone new making a new Freddy movie now and having it go well without studio interference, budget issues, and workplace issues would be asking alot. Idk why its that way but it just seems like with everything now it's made with money in mind over everything despite working on things guaranteed to sell well if done right.
How is there anything worse than Halloween Ends? Halloween 5 is a masterpiece compared to Halloween Ends. It honestly might be the worst horror movie I've ever seen from a major franchise.
It’s so frustrating, because I felt like the best part of both 2018 and Kills, was how well they did Michael. Then in Ends, they just made him so weak.
1. They should drop old Myers and JLC and completely reboot the series with new actors 2. Don’t explore Michael’s past 3. Keep Laurie as his sister, because “the one that got away” plot point is kind of nonsensical 4. Prioritize suspense like the og over gore 5. Leave out the cringe marvel-esque humor out of a Halloween movie 6.And most importantly, make the mask similar to the og’s
To me it was a good trilogy and almost everything people hated was a little exaggerated to me. The story made sense, but still may be hard to empathize with. I agree with you though... Corey should've been introduced in any of the previous movies and maybe the twist would've been more emotional or surprising.
6:40 I agree with this 10000000%, such a massive missed opportunity, and it’s not because I had a MASSIVE crush on her, it’s not for that reason, it’s not…….
These are the best Halloween movies since the originals. Like most people, I didn't like Halloween ends, but even that film gets my respect for trying something different.
I agree totally about the music. Hot take here but I think Halloween III Season of the Witch has the best iteration of the classic Halloween theme. The synth and electronic sounds added to it is killer. But H18 and Kills have a great score as well.
I agree with you so much regarding the Halloween movies. Regarding the trilogy, I would have preferred it if Ends had continued on the same Halloween night, it had so much potential with the set up it was given. I found it to be a disappointing final movie for two iconic horror characters. Halloween (1978) through H20 will always be my favorite time line. I also feel that I need to confess....that I really don't mind Resurrection 😬 Thank you again for another great video, Ryan!
Just yesterday I wrote an in-depth analysis of Michael Myers in the Bloomhouse trilogy in which I based my assumptions about Myers' psychology on the philosophical symbolism used by DGG. I came to the conclusion that DGG is a very intelligent screenwriter and puts a lot of thought into what he wants to portray, he just doesn't really know how to correctly translate what he wants to say into a film. I've been told that my analysis of the philosophical psychology of the trilogy made Halloween Ends a lot more entertaining, maybe it can have the same effect on you? I'd be interested in your opinion too, tbh Would you be interested?
The only good Halloween movies in my opinion are: Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), Halloween III season of the witch (1982), Halloween 4 the return of Michael Myers (1988), Halloween H20 twenty years later (1998)
The biggest problem with Halloween Ends is that it was a Halloween movie. Ditch the old franchise baggage and imo you'd have a pretty good slasher film.
Halloween 2018 is my favorite sequel. For some reason the OG sequels besides 2 just don't hit the way they used to and it sucks. 2018 definitely has it's issues, just like the rest of the sequels. I too, wanted them to include Halloween II in the canon, because no connection makes like no sense. With Kills I love the town ganging up to try and stop Michael. The one part of the whole "evil dies tonight" that I don't like is the hospital scene, with the other mental patient. That part got a little annoying lol. Imagine if they could make new Halloween movie with the dude they did up like Loomis, and have him going after Michael. Absolute money haha.
Chanting Evil Dies Tonight! got tired and annoying. Tommy could have said it once and it would have worked. The mob thinking that long haired stout mental patient was Michael is stupid as hell. Other than that Kills was fine.
If ends was a stand alone movie called cory in the house or something, it’d be a passable horror movie.
I strongly believe Halloween should be put on ice for a decade
Freddy is long LONG overdue new content

Describe the Halloween Blumhouse trilogy in two words,
Wasted Potential.
You should maybe toss this in the retrospective playlist or make a new playlist full of everything horror related
You are one of my comfort channels. I really appreciate you!
Oh shiiiiiiiiiii!!!!! That mans is back!! Whadddupp Ryan!

I was so confused when they retconned Michael and Laurie being siblings. Such an unnecessary change and actually hurt the plot.
Love the back-drop you got going on.

the 2018 one is by far the best in this trilogy and don’t even get me started on Halloween Ends.
Simp away, my dude. She is a star. A horror icon.

I hated Season of The Witch when it first came out but the soundtrack always stuck with me. I appreciate it more now though.
Please dont
😂😂
I unironically think ends is better than kills by a mile
Started good, ended like eating a whole bag of Taco Bell.

Horrible trilogy

Not a big fan of this trilogy at all, and I also get parts mixed up with the Zombie movies when I’m thinking back about them.
Halloween Kills SLAPS
