I grew up 5 minutes away from that theater. I saw it completely packed in 1976 (where I saw Jaws for the first time and my first time at a drive in). I saw in close in the eighties and all the car side speakers disappear. Went there the last couple months and it bew my head completely off with the massive crowd and the movies. Thank God it was saved. They might want to fill in all the giant mud puddles in the parking area with some gravel and fix the lights on their sign on rt 443. Can’t even see it at night. If you’re becoming popular bringing back an old drive in go all out and don’t cut corners.
I totally agree about the holes and the lights. I almost miss the turn right in front of the entrance all the time lol But yes those holes need to be filled in for sure. Other than that it's a great place! And I would have loved to have seen Jaws there back in the day!
This has to be the coolest trip ever, oh man does that place feel like home to me.

My girlfriend and I went Friday night. Saw both Video Violence, Cannibal Campout and Drive In Madness. Such a great time! It was our 2nd time at the Mahoning Drive In and we'll definitely keep coming back.
joythief I was going to go Friday, but I didn't wanna go alone. I'll definitely be going again a few more times this summer.

I need to go a place like that, it would be great see all the old school stuff. That Evil Dead 2 custom painted VHS player was awesome looking. That Video Violence pin is fantastic. Antfarm Dickhole!! Great name for a film.

It's awesome they were showing Faces of Death at the drive in. I saw at one of the booths in your video the guy had a clamshell of the first Faces of Death. I remember that version as a kid before they redid the artwork and put them in regular sleeves. Are you interested in collecting the Faces of Death VHS movies?
Horrorfan1978 Yeah I'm not really into them. I saw them when I was younger. I did actually see that at his booth, but again I wasn't interested. If I stumbled upon them at a goodwill or something, I would buy them and sell them

You won't believe this but I...have like 40 STILL IN THE WRAPPER "BETA" tapes (from the "tape of the month club" that I have to watch "someday LOL !!
I think I MAY have one of THE only still working BETAMAX players too...sometimes technology just SUCKS !! IBET I have at LEAST 3 grand in "tape" (and THAT was in 1980 dollars too !!)

I was tempted to go, but the movies they were showing just didn't interest me that much, and was a little busy that weekend to boot :-/ Of course I love that drive in though and will be back for at least a couple more shows this year. You still collect VHS?
Not really, it depends on what it is. If it’s something obscure and I find it in the wild, yes. But I don’t actively seek them out. I do still have a bunch, but mostly ones that are not on Blu-ray.
