Yamaha introducing the 2018 Yamaha Grand Filano(Yamaha D'elight 125) in Thailand at a price of 62,000 Thai baht (£1,375). The Grand Filano is designed for urban use and comes in two variants - with and without ABS.
The Grand Filano Hybrid is powered by a single-cylinder 125 cc Yamaha Blue Core engine fuelled by EFI, coupled with a Smart Motor Generator. This gives the Grand Filano extra electrical power and save fuel under certain conditions.
Transmission is CVT, as is the norm with scooters, and this is complemented by engine start-stop with Yamaha’s Blue Core Efficiency engine design philosophy. For the Grand Filano, users have the option of leaving engine start-stop on or off, as desired.
As befits a modern urban scooter, the Grand Filano comes equipped with all modern conveniences, including keyless start, full LED lighting front and rear and USB charging socket. A 27-litre storage compartment is found under the lift-up seat, along with easily stowable passenger footpegs and a colour TFT-LCD instrument panel in the cockpit.
Rolling on 12-inch wheels, stopping is done with a hydraulic disc in front and drum brake at the back. Suspension is with conventional telescopic forks and swingarm mounted shock absorber.
Seat height on the Grand Filano Hybrid is 790 mm and fuel is carried in a 4.4-litre tank, with weight being 102 kg for the ABS equipped version. The 2018 Yamaha Grand Filano Hybrid comes in several colour options, the non ABS model having five while the ABS model gets two.

Nice little scoot; but at £2900 it just seems way too much for what you get. For an extra £500 you could get yourself an NMAX which of course is faster, much more powerful! With the added road presence.

Nmax would be my pick 100% but then again i'm more the demographic for the Nmax than the D'elight.

@Ryan piaggio Colchester we’re selling a 125cc brand new not long ago with £500 of RRP. Could be a good buy for you, can’t remember the name of the scooter but I’m sure it was down to 2299/2499 so a nice saving on one of these for effectively the same little scooter.
      Wheels up! Have fun !

India has a similar scooter called Yamaha Fascino 125 which costs around £1000. £2900 is way too much for this scooter. Aerox 155 also is also cheaper in India at just £1900.

India income is way lower than Europe. That's why this price gap

Is this essentially the same as the Yamaha Grand Filano, rebadged for Europe? It seems to be.

the older model has a problem with the fuel pump and after 25,000 km it consumes oil. probably 22g> is the same for this one. this scooter is not worth it for someone who works kilometers

Hi today I checked on both Yamaha d'light and Honda dio (110cc). I felt Yamaha is less heavy than Honda. Also, Honda has less under seat capacity. I am still not sure which one to buy. Can you please tell me which one is better?

Hey Ash have you by any chance decided on which motorcycle to buy? Also, it might be worth noting that the Suzuki address is similar in this comparison.

Just ride within your own capabilities you'll soon get used to the scooters characteristics and how it performs.

This bike is for people like me who doesnt want to spend that extra money on a vespa, or a nmax, i do about 20 miles a day just commuting to work and back, on a mix of roads and its perfect for me, its not the quickest no, but if you want quicker, get a real bike. 😂, im just kidding, if price seems a bit steep, if you look at pre-owned, you can get a decent deal, low mileage, low owners for less than 2k.

You wouldn't buy this instead off the vision pure and simple. Love the ybr and they make great bikes Yamaha but I can't see a slot in the market for it.

Problem with this scooter is that ten inch rear tire. They wear out really fast, so I will have to give this one a pass.

Doesnt come close to the Kymko Like 200i, yet oddly similar style. Too much money, not enough power.

Had to laugh, just as you started the road test a stupid advert flashed on screen for a Bentley Bentayga, or was it telling me to stuff a D'elight in the boot?
