Classic synth pop, Europe was crazy for this sort of stuff at the time, still kind of is in some ways. I vaguely remember they had a handful of other tunes, this was definitely the biggest. Looks like a Roland Sh101 he's playing, worth a small fortune now!
@Sandy-dd4le - I was starting to get into making music around that time, together with some friends, and that Roland SH-101 was one of the instruments we were lusting after; It's 'only' a mono-synth, I found out much later. Good thing our synthist ended up with a Poly800 instead, Korg's most-affordable polyphonic synth! 😄 Man, those past 40 years went fast! 🤯
@@mightyV444 I've played around with one a handful of times, a mate of my brother had one back in the day. It was a lot of fun. A little weird to think that a lot of the people who might use it now as a plug in, have probably never touched or even seen the real thing, I can't help but think they are missing something, perhaps that's just nostalgia on my part.
@@mightyV444 I guess it'd be difficult for us English speaking folk wouldn't be able to easily detect the difference between French Canadian music and Italo Pop. I still have a soft spot for Umbero Tozzi's ''Gloria''.
@@I_was_a_Countdown_Kid-75-83 - 'Gloria' definitely has aged much better than some other Italo Pop! Like for example 'Happy Children' by P-Lion, which I'd loooved at the time and especially for its drum sound - which now is the exact thing making it sound terribly dated 😅

@hanierfamily - That's still nowhere near Italy, though! 😉 😄 One of my friends was at least a little closer by thinking they were French (because of that one French line in the lyrics)! 😄

The song & video are from 1983 but not until 1985 did this song become a hit in the US & UK. A very 80's tune it is ! Fun on the dance floor 💃 🕺
This genre still famous in Mexico city. I like the girl on this reaction moving the whole song.
Trans-X's frontman and brain Pasqual STILL performs, as he lives there as well.

This was on a 82/83 compilation I had back then called "Can't Stop Dancin". Holy memories!

I didn't know this was Canadian! What a surprise! I used to dance to this at the clubs in Melbourne back in the early 80's.
A big surprise also for me! I'd always classed this as Italo Pop! 😄

I never knew this band was Canadian. I've always liked the song though 😊
This was a minor hit in the U.K. a bit of a one hit wonder, I think it was more popular in other parts of Europe.
It was a MASSIVE Hit in Germany! (where I'm originally from. I live in NZ now)

Quebec, actually.

Done that, got the T Shirt. Last time I had Six or Seven layers and the bottom one had Japanese style Art on it that lifted off with the layer above.

Almost a rip off of Hazel O'Connor with Breaking Glass. Try Hazel O'Connor singing Blackman.
