- Although some people aren’t convinced face masks are necessary, a new study has found that they work well most of the time, depending on the type. Scientists at Duke University tested 14 commonly used masks. They found that homemade cloth masks and surgical masks are the most effective, but say neck gaiters actually do more harm than good. When you speak through a fleece neck gaiter, the fleece breaks up the droplets into smaller particles that can travel farther and linger in the air longer. #InsideEdition
Social distancing in school most of the time won't work. Kids don't like to listen and hate having to wear masks and then end up taking them off or not wearing them properly when they're not supposed to. I've already seen this because I was in summer school already.
Even worse kids will cough on each other for fun or to annoy people
My mother brought up an excellent point. In a children’s book there’s something called the cheese touch (touch cheese and then touch someone to pass it on) and people will play corona touch, but the cheese would be replaced with coughing or something of that nature

That fleece mask is made for you to breath while running/exercise...it’s not tightly stitched like the others

i still stick PM2.5 filters in my reusable/washable cloth mask, it's the polypropylene in surgical and n95 masks that filters and adds that measure of some security, better than just cloth masks alone, cloth masks protect others, but you oughta protect you too, even minimally

I bought a mask on Amazon for like $30 a few months back. It seemed cool because it had a vent to keep my glasses from fogging. You can open and close it so I don't think its a 'one way' valve but i'm not sure- it has an inner removable cloth liner which i leave in.
Most people where i'm at refuse to wear a mask at all and now i wear one and i get made fun of by them . and now the 'powers that be' say my mask with valve is the wrong kind. I just can't win no matter wtf I do!

Well this is my personal opinion.the nose is for breathing in and out it goes to your lungs and keep your mouth closed if you breath through your mouth is not going to your lungs your breathing with your stomach so the only droplets as they call it is saliva

I'm in 8th grade. There's no way most kids will wear masks or social distance. They will just flip off the teachers behind their backs, take off the masks when the teachers aren't looking, sneak over to each other, etc. Little kids don't understand so they don't understand how important it is.

I already knew all this, lol... I only wear Level 2 or 3 hospital issued surgical masks with my face shield most times. Sometimes without. I will wear the 1 4 ply mask that I have when I run out of my surgical masks.
Tested 16 masks, but never showed the results...

I have the same surgical mask fork day one. I'm not changing it and won't get a new one I refuse to. I sometimes even touch the mask while I shop to adjust it. So guess what it basically just the same if I didn't where a mask. I'm doing it to make a point

To sum it up and save u time they basically said that homemade masks arent affective since they tested it and some droplets went thru them same for the mask that joggers wear they do more harm than good since the smaller droplets also go thru the mask and stay longer in the air just wear a surgical mask and some gloves and ur good to go also for the classrooms they should limit the amount of students and social distance same for every other situation 6 feet apart mask and gloves on keep a limited amount of students in every classroom corridor etc. and there done ur good
