The production of this video was possible due to a dozen of Korean importers funding and supporting this project. I can't even count the meetings I've had with all the importers, to make this project a thing. So dozens of importers submitted hundreds of wines for the project. And as we've said many times in the video, the judges of those wines, Peter and I, were completely oblivious as to what they were. That was the whole point of this project. Every individual bottle were concealed with paper bags during the tasting, so we couldn't possibly guess what they were beforehand. It was, in my words, a 'perfect blind tasting'. Therefore, importers couldn't just send any wines to promote them as they want. they sent their best wines, and we didn't know anything about it until we tasted them. That's how the whole thing was done. Of course, with dozens of importers, some of them sent a lot of wines and some of them just a few. The deal was like this: importers with a lof of wine selected during tasting would have to provide more supports to the production of our content, and vice-versa. When none of their wines were selected, the importers weren't charged anything. Not even an entry fee. It was completely free. So in summary, each importer had a choice as to participate in this project and how many wines to submit, but nothing else. We did our tasting completely blind, but importers were promised to give supports proportional to the number of wines selected.
That was the behind the scene of all this. So with those 52 wines selected, I can be sure to say we've chosen them without prejudice.
So all the wines selected, I'll be bringing them wherever I go, drinking them with all the wonderful foods around the world. You'll be able to watch that in my channel, since I'll be filming all of it!~

But I have a question regarding one of your recommendations… back in the video called “LONG TIME NO SEE, MY MENTOR” about a year ago, you both hated CASA DE CONCHA Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. Peter went so far as to even call it a “ripoff” !! Could you please explain as I saw it today in my wine store and thought about picking up a bottle just to try it myself? 마르께스 데 까사 콘차 까베르네 소비뇽 2016은 지난 2021년 1월 영상에서 아주 혹평을 하셨는데 지금 영상에서는 2018 빈티지를 추천을 하셔서 궁금합니다. 빈티지로 인한 차이일까요?
꽤 강하게 혹평하셔서 마르꼐스 데 까사 콘차 레이블은 그냥 다 걸렀었는데, 이번에는 평가가 굉장히 굉장히 좋네요ㅎㅎ
빈티지 차이도 있겠지만 블라인드다보니 그때랑다를 수 있고 그리고 진짜 이영향 때문에 너무별로인게 비추천와인은 남아돌아서 좋을때도있지만 추천와인은 구하기너무힘들어져서... 아무리 이사람들이추천해준다해도 본인입맛을찾아가야하는데 유독 우리나라사람들은 누가이거좋다하면 우르르...
와알못인데요. 얼마전에 홈플러스 갔는데 이 영상 생각나서 와인 매장에 들렀더니 맥스 리제르바 카베르네 소비뇽 2018 가 있더라고요. (다른건 없는건지 눈에 안띄는건지..) 라벨이 특이해서 바로 알아봤습니다. 가져와서 한번 마셔봤는데... 정말 다르네요. 좋은 와인 추천해주셔서 감사합니다. 나머지도 찾아서 마셔봐야겠어요.

I bought a bottle of Bascia Rosso d'Italia (not the Rosso Salento) to taste tonight but I saw a very interesting thing : there's no vintage on the bottle because it appears that the wine is made with a blend of different grapes from different regions and because of that it cannot have a vintage on it !
콘차이토로 까쇼는 제가 약 7~8년전 처음으로 와인에 입문할때 마셔보고 빠져들게 만들었던 놈이었는데 직접 런칭하셨던 거라니 감회가 새롭네요!!

Wow! How the prices vary. Just bought the SOMMOS Reserva some weeks ago for 10€ (10USD now) at a supermarket here in Barcelona-Spain. And you have it at the 20-25USD category? Very nice wine and very nice video!! Somontano DO has been doing great since some years ago, you should definitly keep trying wines from there. And as a guy from Catalonia, you should try and review some Empordà wines like the mid to high end wines from Perelada
Yes, most European wine is about twice as expensive in the United States than in Europe unfortunately.

It was filmed in Korea. The wines are Korean prices. Import tax is 70 per cent. Then there is VAT atop all the costs and taxes. Don't forget shipping, and shipping rates are sky high.
I am looking forward to wines in 20-40 eur range, I believe quality lies there :)

Wow, korean market really need some new importers, the wines you picked are decent but there is so much good stuff att that price range. Like aged riojas, barberas, sangioveses, even good Pinot from Chile like monte alpha. 15-20 bucks from Portugal gives you some serious good wines aswell. Is the taxes high for alcohol in Korea? I remember Soju almost cost nothing in Korea…

I imagine they had to tell the vendors that they would not name the ones they did not like. Otherwise they would probably not send them the sample bottles to talk about.
