8. Joyce Becker's Soap Opera Festival at The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (This is a seaside amusement park located in my home town. It is probably best known in pop culture as the amusement park in "The Lost Boys", which was released only around a month after these aired. Back then it was known for hosting meet and greets like this during the summer season. As a kid I saw the Ecto 1 from Ghostbusters there along with an Egon Spengler lookalike:

Lady Speed Stick- 🎶 By Mennen!🎶 One of the simplest jingles I've heard and it's every bit as charming as a jingle that's much longer.
La Choy- I wish I had a room in my house that flew anywhere like an airplane like that family does, complete with the announcing flight attendant.
So nostalgic watching these commercials from the 80's leaves no doubt the 80's was the best at and for everything.
11:15 BRING BACK APPLE SLICE!
From this video's TH-cam thumbnail, photographic proof that Apple Slice soda existed! I only saw it one time in the 1980s, in a vending machine.

The Young and the Restless was my mom's favorite soap opera
It was my grandmother’s favorite show. Then she would watch the news at 12 PM, bold and the beautiful, As the World Turns, and guiding light. Honestly, I think that was the final year that capital was on CBS before bold and the beautiful came along.

My young daughter loves going to the boardwalk so I had to show her the old commercials I grew up with.

Apple 🍎 Slice was the only Slice I liked as a kid
I remember all these products from the 80s. My parents used those exact speed stick deodorants for years. VO5 shampoo I hadn’t thought about for years. Awesome video it definitely took me way back in time

7:52 I remember seeing Looney Tunes specials like this. They would have the old cartoons with new animated segments for the special. It looked like you wouldn't see that on TH-cam.
I think the only "original" Looney Tunes special was "Bugs Bunny in King Arthur's Court." You can see that on TH-cam:

But for some reason I'm really loving that Chex Snack Mix ad! They don't make jingles like they used to!
That bumper for The Young and the Restless theme and graphic unlocked a memory of mine when my Grandma was always watching the show throughout the 90's.

I thought the Price Is Right aired before the noon news in 1987 on CBS unless it aired earlier because of time zone differences
The Price is Right always aired at 10AM around here growing up near the bay area, I have no idea when it aired everywhere else.
@@80sCommercialVault it was always 10 AM here in Wisconsin followed by The Young and the Restless.
@@80sCommercialVault It was and is at 11 AM in the Raleigh Durham area even with all of the affiliate changes since the 1980s.
Each affiliate can choose to pre-empt or delay shows and basically air them whenever they want.
Speaking from experience, KPIX in the Bay Area aired The Price is Right at 10 AM, Y&R at 11 AM and then had the Noon News at 12. This recording reflects that. It sounds like other affiliates across the country did the same thing.
