I’m really glad for this guide, haven’t cleared the fight yet but it gave me the confidence to go into pf and try harder content for the first time. On my first attempt I got to second phase enrage, gonna take a shot every day until I get there (playing gnb, ilv 509 currently)
I spent so long studying the sword drops part on phase 2, I even watched this video and had to wait a bit then come back and watch it again so I didn’t hurt my brain LMFAO... BUT I think I finally have a grasp on it 😂 and it is thanks to this guide so thank you. (I do love when mechanics take time and effort to figure out)
I just want to add to this 2 2 2 2 is best for DPS For those struggling with the orb mechanic, easy to understand is if North is Yellow and South Blue it's going to be CW, if North us Blue and South Yellow it's a CCW rotation. Numerous farm runs in I can confirm this.
on the knock back tertius, ive found that you can use KB resist as soon as you see the red circle drop and thats how ive had the most success with avoiding it.
Terminus mechanic = Go to southeast corner (dodge into the corner or away) and you should be fine. If there is an AoE there during a later part, Go northeast. Hasnt failed me yet.
Why do 2:2:2:2, instead of 4:4? 4:4 makes it easier to decide which way to go on both sides, and the damage is considerably more manageable as a healer. You can heal as you go pretty easily.
Idk if it's my mental health saying this or what but ruby wep looking easier now imo. visually looks like a nightmare and I can feel the rage im gonna feel when I keep dying to stupid shit. Not to mention the 4/4 strat i keep seeing in pf.
You can predict what the patter for the firing squad is based on which column is safe first. 2nd column is right right, 3rd is right left, 4th is left right, 5th is right right.
"Divide" here is pronounced "dee-WEE-day", since it's Latin. Latin doesn't have a W consonant, which you can see in Romance languages that write "w" as "double V" (such as Spanish).

@@3ld00N nah in Sos tanks had to be doing something to help with the fight For emerald besides dropping and flare and helping with Aoes/dodging them all they had to do is tank busters, stay north, and stay in the middle So based on difficulty emerald is the easiest out of every ex fight so far for tanks in this expansion
very important, for 2/2/2/2 to work, everyone takes first orb when it spawns then go to center for healing and figure out where to rotate, then go to second orb. and while 2/2/2/2 is best for uptime of dps If your group is having issues with orbs, I have seen: 4 and 4, requires some mitigation for it to work. if you have a pld he can hallowed ground and take 4 orbs. Also I have seen 2 tanks and rest of party in another group, tanks use a cd and this requires little to no healing but makes rotating easier and the damage done to everyone is almost non existent.
4:4 really only requires shields at the beginning and the healers should be able to keep up with the healing afterwards. Then just regroup in center and heal up
@@Montoya1371 Uptime. There is nothing less fun than running away from a boss to do mechanics when it's just as easy to do the mechanics near the bosses hitbox. You have a Warrior with Shake It Off, a PLD with their shield, DRK and GNB with their group mitigations, plus any ranged mitigation AND shields from healers AND any personal mitigation, then there's literally NO REASON to do 4X4 except to be lazy and make the fight go on even longer.

Great guide!
Also can we just take a moment to appreciate how dope the phase 2 music is?
That guitar is sic as hell
Very dope 😂👌
Reminds me of something from command and conquer

Hey! I really like your guides. They are always really helpful! :3
7:18 Don't make excuses for Thoros. We all know he wasn't going for the reset. He was just scared of big green.

This needs to be stickied, thank you so much!!!
@@MrPhoenix8008 hey no problem glad this helped, I actually saw this info in another guide video.
If you're assigned to the south side, you can't see the north orb because the boss is in the way
@@somerandomdudeable I listed both.
12:30 If you're a tank, use Arm's Length after the 3rd AoE appears then use your invuln after the knockback goes off to keep uptime.
Great guide quality, as usual.

Nice throwback for FFVII on the font for the mechanics
Really need to get the terminus abilities down but the tanking cooldown windows are really well spaced for mechanic usage, I really like it xD
Been waiting on this. Now it's time for me to get slaughtered while I learn to do it
Goddamn Right
You can also shield through the magitek knockback but you need big shields
Looking forward to your eden savage guide mrhappy

I swapped the tank spot on south with dps spot on east, to be ready for the stacked tankbusters, does that put more stress on the healers?
really helpful !!! just as i started doing it for the first time !
07:19 the monk just sort of jumps off the side
The enrage on part one based on the dummy seems tight.
...what?
You can skip the last minute before enrage even with deaths

Uptime i'm preety sure.
@@goldchampion200 I guess, but with the dps check being as forgiving as it is, it really doesn't make too much of a difference.
I tought because with 4:4 you gotta be faster since the same people have to get more orbs
@@Ninnisha You can literally just walk orb to orb
Lets go baby

4:4 is much safer for learning groups than pairs.
you sir are a monster for suggesting this amount of melee downtime
wish the terminus sword lines had different colours
Make these look easy ty

Tanks one side with cooldowns, everyone else on the other, is the easiest way to handle orbs bar none.

I love ffxiv but why does every extreme encounter have to be a dance fight....
Change my mind
This fight is braindead for tanks
Cleared 10 times on gnb and I'm not going to change your mind lmao. Tanks dont need to have any real teamwork and they dont do half the mechanics
this fight is braindead for any job
It is

i love being early
4\4 strat is better 😤 but thx for the video those swords in phase 2 always mess me up 😅
Right? I don't see why everyone is so adamant about running 2:2:2:2, when 4:4 is easier to heal through and leaves considerably more room for error.

4:4 strat is objectively worse. It is a downtime strat. Stop this.
