Redeem themselves by making a more traditional Hitman game... and quickly un-redeem themselves by releasing episodic content and having always-online single player... Modern AAA gaming, folks.
To be fair, episodic content isn't necessarily bad, so long as it's free. Yes, it's an excuse to have an incomplete story on launch, but I wouldn't say that that counts as one of the MANY things dragging this game down...

Then by the time the game is complete it feels like you're looking at last year's game but for the price of a new release and it just feels bad. Plus, many people have already played it by the time it's complete, they've found out the secrets and techniques, gotten tired of talking about it and the community just isn't the same as the community for a new game anymore.
