- Finally Done with the top drawer socket organization.
It's been a long time coming and countless dollars spent but I think we made it.
Went with Snap On and Olsa Hanson style trays along with some Erwin trays.
Drawer is only sockets and 65% Snap On.
On to the next drawer Organization.

WOW. I thought I had a lot of sockets to sort! My late husband was a custom auto painter and mechanic and left behind thousands of tools that I’m still trying to organize for my father and myself. I have learned so much in the last year and I FINALLY know learned measurements after years of just not having the desire. Well between my husband, his father both auto body and mechanics and my dad AND his dad both carpenters I have four generations of tools. I was so excited to watch your video and I’ll be watching from now on!!! Thanks for sharing and GREAT JOB! It’s so tedious I KNOW. I can spend 8 hours in the barn and th ink it’s only been an hour!!! Sorry for your loss and so nice that you are holding on to them. Do you have 1/4” drive impact sizes: Shallow 5/32 & Deep 1/8, 5/32? I am trying to complete my set and am missing these sizes in 1/4” impact sockets. Not sure who carries them in stock (brand) - SnapOn, Mack, Matco,

That's a nice setup. I know what you mean about muscle memory. That's why a lot of pit crews have similar setups on their tool carts. Everyone knows where everything is. It has helped me everytime I rebuilt my tool carts. I set them up the same way.

Haha I'm the same way, all my trays can't have missing spots, I don't know why it drives me nuts, even if I rarely use the size I'm missing, maybe I'm just OCD 😂. That's an impressive collection you have there.

Insane amount of sockets !! , glad it's to a acceptable point for you!! Sick organization!! Also that drawer must weight 1k pounds . Try and get it weighed. Might need a forklift to remove the drawer and to reinstall

My 19 piece 3/8 rachet and socket set fit in their own little case under my socks in my sock drawer.
Looks great. Empty spots and different brands together drives my OCD crazy lol. I'm just a home fixer guy not a pro

Absolutely love the half inch shallow snap on impact sockets. Bought the set that comes with the universals. Complete set 10 - 25 i think. Then bought a 27 and a 30 to match the set

Have you looked into the peg board organizer that Matco makes. Find someone who has a 3d printer and there is a file online for the socket organizer pieces and just print a ton of them and save money

I separated my sockets by different colored rails according to 1/4” 3/8” 1/2” and some 3/4” and also separated by SAE and METRIC

My lay out of SNAP-ON sockets almost look like that with the exception of the lack of SAE and 12point ...I have the exact same problem but need a different storage...I dont even bother with opening the sets just yet I just work with my normal day to day equipment at the moment..and I have equipment that hasn't even been looked at in months do to the organization...it definitely takes time and patience this is a Excellent video I'm loving this right here that is a great drawer set up you can never have enough even if they aren't use every day or on every job it's the point of you having them so when you come across a situation I'd rather have it than get stuck with out it especially when you run into them extra extraordinary situations Great video Great Content I need some of them extra long deep power sockets and spline drive sets and spring loaded magnetic sets and I could definitely use a few of them magnetic trays
