As a final touch I had my wife label each drawer so you would know exactly where everything is
and you would not have to open each drawer to find different tools. Those strips on each drawer
pull out so you can label them. A great video I enjoyed it.

1/2" piece of plywood across the top, will give you a level surface to throw down a butcher block work top across all of them. I have the same box, with side cab's on both sides. I did the 1/2" plywood, with a 1" piece of plywood across all 3. Solid as hell.

Great Video I seen your idea visually a long time ago when you first mentioned it and not for nothing it was always a very intellectual smart idea from the start which I understood this because it saved you more than a reasonable amount testically compared to purchasing a big long expensive tool truck Brand box with less room your idea from the start was always the best bang for your buck because the cubic storage space was all that it matter instead of one drowning themselves in dept with less room to work with because tool Storages dont make money tools do ....This was Excellent video and great demonstration and a very key eye opener and example to the ones who are paying attention

@@JustinTBraun Not for nothing it would be nice if there was metal fabricator who could customly design a long stainless top that exceeds the length for the 4 boxes or 6 if you do decide to add the 2 other additional boxes and design it in a way were that it could just drop on top flush like a box lid were that it can easily be removed by lifting it off the top just in case you need to move them or relocate but it would look nice if you were to do that better patent the idea before harbor freight steel it

Something i did with my split loom was to take a 5 gallon bucket, and drill a hole in the lid (or the bottom), and coiled the loom inside neatly so that as you pull it out it self uncoils. I put my hole in the lid, and store them on a shelf, but you could also put the hole in the bottom, and hang them from the ceiling. With all that I really only use split loom in locations where the wire could be exposed to an extreme abrasion (like under a vehicle, or trailer) everywhere else i use techflex (the cloth oem style) to protect it.

Nice set up! Hope you got that power probe by now. They are worth every penny. You gave me a great idea with the supply box. I'm planning to buy a 56" harbor freight box and I was going to sell my 44", but I think I'll keep it and use it for wire terminals and the like. Glad to see you have some rivnuts. Not everyone knows about them! You can get smaller installer tools for tight spaces to install them. Great video!

I really enjoyed your video. I recently organized all of my sockets together with the TOOL GRID.
IMHO this s no doubt the best socket organizers on the market and this will save you a lot of space
in your drawers, you ought to consider it. The system is rather expensive but it is a one time expense.
I eliminated all of my socket rails, boxes and trays, saved a lot of space. I tried the tool box widgets
and I didn't like them because of their labeling system in identifying the various socket sizes in the drawers.
Just thought I would pass this on to you and others, again a GREAT video.

AWESOME! I like that you're not a tool snob. I started a mobile auto repair business and I would love to have that setup but the only way would be to put it in a semi trailer, lol. Right now I just have a Husky mobile work bench, 46" I believe. It works, but it's bursting at the seams.

@@JustinTBraun My work van is a 1998 Chrysler Town and Country with the seats removed, lol. I have the 46" Husky mobile workbench . The top drawer is nothing but wrenches, one drawer for infrequently used pliers, another for frequently used pliers, and about three drawers for other stuff. I have another one of those small tabletop tool chest.

Ok. You are utterly insane. This is so wrong and just...crazy. And I love it. WHY DO I LOVE IT?
For one, I like seeing out of the box thinking. And this is out there. Sure, theyre not Snap On, but you saved about a downpayment on a house going this route lol. I do things in a strange way too, so I speak from experience. Im actually re-doing my box (second time this year!) because I got another box that actually used to belong to my father over 30 years ago, then he sold it, now I have it again. And its a mint Mac 50th anniversary. Seller didnt have the keys to it...but I still had them! So yeah, now I have to reoganize, and have a wall of toolbox, but not as long as your setup.
Ok, Im going to watch the video now and see whats inside em lol (I do comment as I watch, but I dont think you'll mind the engagement. I could only wish my guys would comment more lol)

Personally I would stack another box on the ends kinda to make a hutch in the middle. Then grind the middle 2 boxes to put a Long flat work surface.

Very nice set-up. If I were organizing, I would categorize by Trade. As an example left to right or right to left; House Items;; Carpentry/Woodworking items, leading to any Masonry, then Plumbing, Welding/Metalworking, then Electrical (Home to the left, then Auto) and finally Sockets/cordless tools in the middle two top drawers, Pliers/Screwdrivers/hammers below that. Any Auto only tools to the far right. I would tend to put related hardware near each Trade, as that's how you would use it. Enjoy!
