Interesting how they slam Wilson for his lack of production before last season. Nolan Smith had 2.5, 2.5 and 4.5 sacks his first three years and came out as the top recruit in the nation. He then "dominated" with.... 3 sacks in 2022. Wilson had 7 sacks each of the 2 seasons and only played 10 games in 2022. The other advantage of Wilson is he has SIZE and can play a traditional DE in a 4 man front front even move inside on passing downs. Nolen Smith weighs 235 pounds...... Wilson weighs 275 pounds. These guys like hearing themselves talk. Oh, Will Anderson had 10 sacks, 7.5 sacks less than the previous year. He was also manhandled by Wright against TN. But he is can't miss when all the OTs in the NFL are going to be big, strong and mobile. Anderson you could argue feasted on poor OT play, had 3 sacks against Vandy.
You have to look at how someone will project in the NFL. There is a reason Ziggy Ansah went top 5 back in the day and was getting double digit sacks shortly thereafter.
Tyree Wilson isn't an Edge rusher... He is Deforest Buckner, and inside guy or 5 Tech in a 3-4. Can he play the Edge? Of course, but his size (He will put on another 10-15lbs in the NFL) will make him more of an interior disruptor who can play both the run and pass.
At what point do we just stop listening to pff? Ur reasonings for not taking him make absolutely no sense. But even if u don’t think he will provide an immediate pass rushing impact there is absolutely no question he enters the league as pretty easily a top 20ish run stopping edge rusher. And ur saying “does he have upside? Yes but..” almost completely discrediting the sheer unicorn he actually is. He’s not just long, he’s incredibly long. He’s not just big, he’s really big. He’s not just strong, he’s really strong. He’s an elite level athlete and those are the type of players u bet on. Literally the only logical reason u should pass on him is if ur worried about age/injury concerns in the scope of his development. Cause it’s reasonable to think he won’t be elite for a few years and that u don’t want to have a guy who will only start becoming an elite player at age 25/26. That’s fair. But what ur saying is just baffling. This is gunna age like milk… and I don’t see a way he falls out of the top 8-10 picks
Make no sense? An older prospect who never dominated in college, is not a very good run defender and didn't test as the combine is a lock for the top 10? On tape his burst is slow, his sole move is the bullrush and his production came against weaker tackles in a pass heavy conference. Myles Murphy makes a lot more sense if you're betting on traits. Wilson is the sensation of media hype as a top pick in this draft.
This just validates why you guys are just throwing darts. You say, "I watched the tape" but.... If you were given truth serum, you would be saying: "hey Steve, we need to start doing some CYA stuff, so we are covered either way." In other words, we have him at 5, but he could be a bust. If he's great, you say: "that's why we took him at 5!" If he does poorly you say: "I knew there was a risk. Remember we talked about it." Too funny. I just came across this video and decided to watch it, what a waste of time.
If draft analysts go way against the grain and put a guy higher or lower than consensus they're called out for clickbaiting and attention seeking, then if they go middle ground on a prospect they're conflicted on, they're "trying to play both sides". Ok lol, If only draft fans did less scorekeeping and more enjoying of the draft season and the process of analysis and mock drafts everyone would probably be able to have a lot more fun with this whole thing...
These guys get like 80% of their evaluation wrong so I would believe a fart tank before I take anything they say seriously and by the way this show is depressing to watch something about the setting.
@@MNZGamin players who would’ve gone top 2-3 in any other draft are steals when taken at 5. Anderson carter and tyree are top 3 caliber players. Getting them at 5 is most definitely a steal
@@joshfrumin6508 that also doesn’t make sense because everyone’s draft board & draft needs are different. Teams that have their franchise QBs are not going to draft QB when they have a major need at OT or DT. It’s not a steal for the 3-5 team to draft the top QB when they don’t need one. You can’t make blanket statements as if context doesn’t exist. A steal is like Aaron Donald falling out of the top 10.
Have to disagree. Tyree was demolishing offensive lines the whole year, collapsing pockets and being disruptive. I think the Gregory Rousseau comp is good from a stylistic perspective, but Wilson is way more powerful than he is. He's like a mix of Rousseau and Marcus Davenport, I think that could be a special combo. Imo he doesn't have to be refined like a Bosa to be very productive at the next level. As a Seahawks fan I really hope they can get Tyree and Kancey... Two completely different ends of the spectrum but I love the upside for both of them
They look 100% on sacks and pressure but a guy who can hold the edge and play with power as well as speed is very valuable. Being able to move inside on passing downs is huge. I get it there are 240 pound guys that look good in the combine and dominate college OTs that will be selling insurance after college but a guy like Wilson can be a key player even if he doesn't get double digit sacks.
I'd let someone else draft him. There are always other positions to fill - I'd rather take a guy I think is a sure starter in the first two rounds than gamble on a guy at one position, even if I'd like to fill that position.
Jonathan Gannon should not be a head coach in the first place. And now he's going to screw it up before his first game by taking Wilson. The Cardinals have the worst roster in the NFL. Wilson won't help.
Wilson is better than Will Anderson and he will be drafted before him too. I bet Wilson first defensive player taken at +750 and the odds have shifted to +120 since. Seems like the word is getting out.
I've been around a lot of D1 guys. I've stood next to Tyree. You immediately know he's different. Top 3.

Very true points sir

This take is going to age like milk
True!!!
Seems like it aged well
@@Ballssjfudud I guess guys only have one year to become an all star nowadays
Not. It's aged perfectly.

Went at #7 LV Raiders. Hope Cosby and he can wreck something.
I think this video will come back to haunt them

Im not sure what Smith is. He didnt even have 12 sacks for his entire career at Georgia. 3.5 sacks is his career high in one year.

Reality is, you don’t find the majority of HOFs in round 1 🤷🏽♂️

Tyree Wilson will get you fired... he is not a bad player but not a 1st rounder.

Sorry you don't know talent. Physical tools cannot be coached. Ty has got great tools.
lol
He could be the Zack Wilson of the draft and they have the same last name .
