Tackling my tire carrier next week. Finally bought my own welder so it's time to burn some beads in. Built my own rear bumper and putting a swing carrier on it. I built a flip down for the jeep I used to own but found it cumbersome to operate. I love the diy4x stuff but going homemade for this one. Thanks for the videos.
Great video sir! I purchased my 86 K5 last year and have been slowly working on her. I call it my 5 year project. looking forward to more videos and ideas. Cheers, from Texas!
James Merrick Love ur videos man keep up the good job. Been watching them for a while. Just a quick question do you know where I can find that torsion spring?
Where can I get one of those tire carrier. My wife has been bugging me to get one for my 74 blazer because I don't have a spare in case I get a flat..please help
Did you switch to the smaller 12.50 tire? Also about how much was the bumper? I'm in AZ but I take trips to Cali maybe 2-3 times a year when I have time. Does your buddy have a website to look at his stuff? There's a guy here but he moved and I haven't been able to find him, SUCKS.

Hey Merrick, long time watcher. Do you think the spring and latch mechanism are available separately? They don't make bolt on stuff for my vehicle.
I actually think Kert made them himself. Check out McMaster Carr. They have so many parts and fittings etc...
How did this not go viral? Need a clip for TH-cam shorts or “Best of MG” video.
Ha ha. That’s not a bad idea. If my video files weren’t spread across like 18 hard drives it would be easier! Ha ha.
Hi thank you for the video I have a 1989 K5 and I love your bumper we’re can buy one or you build it yourself thanks C.M
These bumpers are made by DIY4X. Great stuff!
Excellent videos! Thank you.
James, what are you gonna do with that old bumper?
Sold it!
Damn. Something like that would work for my Tahoe.
Is that swing down from diy 4x4?
