    I use the FodSports FX8, I bought them for when riding with the kids.They work awesome.
    Also use one for when riding on the Adventure Bike, for taking phone calls, Spotify and navigation.
    I don't bother when trail riding.

    Wouldn't be without my cardo, especially for 2 up communication. I also like to listen to music while riding on road. I agree 15 riders in your ear would be a nightmare. I agree with you on distance it is really just line of sight. This looks like a good cheap alternative. Good luck to the crew for winning this!

    Hi Mark, I tried an Aldi and it was ok but the battery was not lasting long so I grabbed a Fodsports when I updated my helmet the voice on it is the same voice on the Telheer. I listen to music, sing along and I sometimes just listen to the bike. It's great to have your favourite music while riding down some awesome track, it really adds to the experience for me. I know riders that use headsets to warn other riders in their group if some hazard is ahead like mud, roos, police ahead etc so the benefits are easy to see. On my headset I have two sources available so i hook up to my gps (with music on an SD card) and my phone. You don't have to answer it but I would hate myself if I missed a call advising me that my wife/kids/family needed me due to a serious accident and here I am just riding around for fun.

    Hi Mark. Where I have found the headsets useful is that I have a cheap eBay dongle for my UHF and a seperate Bluetooth button where you can put anywhere on your bike. Mine is on the indicator switch block. This way I have ooodles of range with the UHF and it keeps us in contact with the sweep rider or support vehicle. Doesn’t matter if your listening to music or gps but as soon as some talks via UHF it takes priority and cuts everything else out.

    Hey Mark, nice that you try them out. I'm driving lots of times with friends and most of us have different systems whom won't pair or not easily. So we end up having a group call. As we have all of our phone connected anyway. This is way quicker and range is limitless. especially now we have unlimited calling minutes.

    After your review I ordered one to try, works a treat with the only issue fitting to my helmet, could not use the clamp mount & had to use the stick on mounting plate. The speakers were a issue & I need to trim a little to relief a bit of pressure on my ears, might order another then the wife can talk to me when 2up (that could be a mistake)

    Important question what plug dose the speakers and microphone have some run standard 3.5mm plugs like a cell phone, others have perpetuity plugs. 3.5mm gives your more options if you ever need to replace a parts.
    I bought a cheap set they work great but uses a odd plug. After watching a EveRide he uses one that runs 3.5mm so any headphones with a microphone can be plugged in which opens up more options, and the ability to upgrade speaker.

    Hi Mark
    Enjoy your videos but in my opinion to ride a motorcycle the last thing you need whilst riding through say a 100km twisties is a phone call or somebody talking to you.Consentration is optimal whist riding a motorcycle. These have a place if your riding two up with a partner or commuting on a bike as part of your job were you need to be contacted. Just
    my opinion
    Keep up the great input
    Regards Andrew

    Really all I need is something that's waterproof and is loud and clear so I can hear my gps and maybe listen to music, as I have never owned one, I wouldn't use it for calls or as a comm system as I ride solo and the reason I ride solo is for some me time, alone..

      I think they have a purpose. I use mine to be able to communicate with another rider[s] when going through towns or turning onto another road and the rider behind isn't aware. Beats sitting at an intersections yelling at each other so you can understand what you are saying to each other. Personally don't have phone connected.

    • @_vain_
      @_vain_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BikerBits that is exceptional. I would have guessed at 8 or 9 working. That might be worth a look. There's normally just 2 of us riding so that could be the idea. A couple of years ago we bought the Aldi intercoms and that did us well at $60 bucks each unit. The price you quoted is cheaper with a better battery life. Thanks for that.

    • @wobblysauce
      @wobblysauce 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@_vain_ depending on how good you are with the fiddly stuff, you can change the batteries in most for higher capacity, but for most people 8ish hours is more than enough, and when you stop can charge it when you take a break.

      @_vain_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wobblysauce lol, when we got the Aldi coms, my mate said that he can't see the point really.... now he never shut up. Nah not really but we do use them a lot more than we expected. Hes not bad with electronics, I'll suggest it to him. Thanks for the tip.

    • @wobblysauce

      That said, most times when I am solo... I just use a little '2in1 Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver 3.5mm Aux Wireless Audio Adapter', the mic isn't needed, speaker or Earmold with the device in chest pocket and can just tap the button when needed.
      I got 2 but one has the details of is small ‎3.81 x 1.27 x 7.62 cm; 113 Grams, 30ish hrs battery life, but comes in a range of makes but generally all the same components inside.

    • @wobblysauce

      That was mainly a Cardo and Sena issue as they wanted people in their ecosystem and the different mesh networks but using normal Bluetooth, you can connect them.

    Unfortunately... when you don't understand how something works most people will say it no good... if you are having issues hooking up the cardo Packtalks you are doing it incorrect.. Packtalk uses DMC Mesh for coms and although you can use BT for coms you shouldn't.. the BT channels are for Phone and GPS ... Mesh is for comms . This video seriously displays the inability to use the product correctly... the advantage of Mesh over BT are massive but clearly you are not understanding it... is poor review and misleading information at best... do I have affiliatation with Cardo not at all. I have the cheap $50 units and they do work well but not even close to how DMC Mesh works if you are in a group of riders......

    Have Cardo Freecom 4+ and it's utter crap. Static pops between riders. The JBL speakers sound ok but not more. Battery life is not what they promise. The buttons are insanely hard to use with gloves. The roller for volume is too light. So I am throwing them away and getting a cheap one. I really hate them from the bottom of my heart. What a waste of money.
