The old school tires look cool for show, but put on on some current M/T slicks so it will hook up. It really will go two and a half seconds quicker at least.
I'm 67 also, and I DON'T LET OFF BETWEEN GEARS, ITS CALLED POWER SHIFTING! HE COULD OF KNOCKED OFF HAFE A 10TH OF A SECOND, KOOL STANCE! THAT SETUP SHOULD AT LEAST BE IN THE MID 13 SECOND BRACKET,, MY 66' BUICK G.S. 401C.I. NAILHEAD, BONE STOCK, 4 SPEED WITH STREET TIRES, RUNS MID 14 SECONDS @ 95 m.p h. POWERSHIFTING!!

as El Caminos go, the “square” Chevelle models were the best looking of the lot.
