Knew absolutely nothing about them going into their show with Ghost last week. What… a… show!!! Totally blown away would be an understatement. This is one band you MUST see live. Completely hooked. All I’ve been listening to since.

What ended up being decissive for them was James Hetfield did a secret visit to Michael Poulsen in Denmark, where they say in a bar/restaurant in Vesterbro Copenhagen, that Michael had to arrange on the spot, because visit was unexpected. Hetfield then stunned Poulsen by knowing almost all Volbeats songs.
There is another Danish band which have the same sound quality when they go live. They are called Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. They play a kind of progressive rock. I have been at a concert where I could not tell the difference if it was live or studio :-) But for sure Volbeat are up there with the best of the best. The singer on chorus Johan also plays in a third Danish band called "Magtens Korridorer" which translates to "Corridors of power"...another very cool band. At the small break before 4th chorus...Johan and Michael looking at each other...saying....."Do we dare do this"...they know this is the spot where the audience goes full in 🙂 BTW "For evigt" means "4 ever". Volbeat's been a little out of the Limelight here in Denmark, but when making a top ten, Volbeat is on a lot of other peoples' lists, I did actually kinda forget them, but I instantly recalled this, because it'd be in every party, in every club, and on every radio station for years on end, and it didn't actually become too old, like a lot of other good songs often become when played too often. There were just a lot of other up and coming artists that took over the spotlight, once they didn't release as many bangers.
I was introduced to Volbeat by my cousin about 4 years ago. I absolutely love them!! I think a lot of the older fans don’t care for this one as much because it’s not as hard as some of their old stuff but I’m like you…this song speaks to me and I love it so much!!! Wonderful band!

This was the first song I ever heard by volbeat and I've been a fan ever since. Love both versions of the song. A lot of people don't like the English version so much but I think it's almost as good as the original. When you consider that the danish to English translation is a mouthful and doesn't flow as easily for English listeners it's easy to appreciate the English version. Either way either version is incredible. 🤗🤗

Yes I was waiting for some Volbeat. I think I saw this band 15 times live. Even twice in one month. My favorite album is Rock the Rebel / Metal the Devil. Still Counting was the first song I ever heard years ago when I was a kid, and always liked it, it wasn't until I grew up more and understand what I liked more that I found the band again. What everyone do not know is that Johan olsen do not always attend on volbeats concerts. Johan olsen is the guy who songs for evigt, the guy in jeans clothes. When e lurks up and begins to sing that gives me huge gose pumps. Alot if people have been very harsh against Johan olsen, for example calling out that he looks lika a bum etc. What most people do not know is that Johan olsen went to the university and got ph.d in proteincrystallography and is a quite big scientist in Copenhagen. Just a little info for the listeners. You should listen to the gardens tale, their music video, Johan olsen also sing in that one on Danish.
The whole Volbeat thing hasn't caught on with me, even though I'm a Dane. Magtens Korridorer, the band of the other guy, Johan Olsen though, I've listened to quite a bit. It could still change though. Originally I didn't like Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. Possibly because of the hype. It didn't change till I had to play the bass on some of their songs(while taking music classes).

When you consider that the danish to English translation is a mouthful and doesn't flow as easily for English listeners it's easy to appreciate the English version. Johan Olsen, the guy who looks like a homeless drug addict, has a PhD in molecular biology and used to work for Copenhagen University. As well as being the lead singer of Magtens Korridorer, a really popular rock band in Denmark.

Did you know that before Volbeat the singer (Michael Poulsen) had another band? The name of that band is Dominus and they have an album with the title Vol.Beat. So now you know where the name Volbeat came from.

Still Counting was the first song I ever heard years ago when I was a kid, and always liked it, it wasn't until I grew up more and understand what I liked more that I found the band again. Great Musik. Great band. A shame I only remembered them from your steams but hey, we're back now. Definitely a great song, dad and I were watching Led Zeppelin "The Song Remains the Same" last night and holy shit. I was never big on Zeppelin but, you can't say they weren't a Hel of a rock band. Jimmy Page and fucking John Bonham. Definitely kings.
I am going to see them at Sweden rock festival this Summer. Nightwish first and right after them it is Volbeat. Its going to be great. For me Nightwish is the better band but still will be a great evening

What everyone do not know is that Johan olsen do not always attend on volbeats concerts. Johan olsen is the guy who songs for evigt, the guy in jeans clothes.
When e lurks up and begins to sing that gives me huge gose pumps.
Alot if people have been very harsh against Johan olsen, for example calling out that he looks lika a bum etc.
What most people do not know is that Johan olsen went to the university and got ph.d in proteincrystallography and is a quite big scientist in Copenhagen.
