      However A220 is way more expensive to be produced compared to E2 due the large use of composite materials in the fuselage, the airlines has a lot of E1 pilots, which reduces drastically the costs with retraining, besides that 195E2 range is about 5k km, more than ideal for international flights between all european countries and some parts of Asia and Africa, E2 is a bit more efficient too.

      What a reach. The A220 has its disadvantages, like its weight. The E2 is better for short flights. A220 is better for mainline, even though the 195-E2 can fly more than 2 hours with efficiency too. I'd say the E195-E2 is more versitile. I hate this A220 overhype. It is selling that much because Airbus is selling it cheap, the A320neo do whatever the A220 does, but better, with less cask. Airbus itself said the CSeries wasn't that great but after buying the project, boom, the CSeries suddenlly is the best thing on earth. Give me a break... I know A220 looks really neat and is very comfy, but Embraer did an amazing job with the E2, it's technically a clean sheet plane in comparison to the E1. The E2 and the A220 even share the same engine, which is basically the main factor responsible for their efficiency.

    • @ABCantonese
      @ABCantonese 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @neilpickup237
    @neilpickup237 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Such a shame they didn't go with the A220. Having travelled on both the A220 and the E-Jet (admittedly the previous version) the terrible placement of the windows in many of the rows resulting from the unusually lengthy amount of fuselage between them does not make for a pleasant experience if you chose a window seat to actually look out of the window!

    • @uriblaketheriddimprotege
      @uriblaketheriddimprotege 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not neccesarily a shame, if you notice airfrance-klm are split when it comes to airbus and boeing, airfrance has more airbusses than boeings and klm has more boeings than airbusses. And it was already obvious that af would go with the a220, so therefore klm would take the e-jets. Also because they already had e-jets.

    • @robertofernandes4375
      @robertofernandes4375 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This has nothing to do with the manufacturer. The non alignment with the windows has to do with the quantity of seats that the air carriers decide to fit into the total space available in the cabin.

    • @neilpickup237
      @neilpickup237 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertofernandes4375As you stated, the seat alignment has much to do with the airlines specifications. I have flown on both aircraft types on numerous occasions so my comment was based on personal experience. With the A220 and its large closely spaced windows, it is usual to find yourself with either an acceptably placed window, or a choice of two with not too much wall between them. However, with the Embraer and it's very widely spaced windows, you often find yourself with a wall rather than a window, and the need to lean quite far forward, or look back over your shoulder to see out. This has everything to do with the manufacturer.

    • @ifpstopmotions9720
      @ifpstopmotions9720 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem that you stated has nothing to do with the aircraft itself. Not to mention that you can not compare the older family with the A220, since the E2 were made to compete with the A220, not the E1. The E2 has a lot more advantages for the passengers, such as way wider windows, better seats, low noise levels, and the killing feature 2+2 configuration.

    • @robertofernandes4375
      @robertofernandes4375 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say for Cityhopper, the E2 would be better as it still profitable on lower demand routes (that was one of the main reasons why the original E-Jet was very popular), besides, the A220 is more of a short haul (i.e 737 MAX 7/8 and A320) whereas the E2 is more regional (A319, CRJ and maybe even the Dash 7 and ATR-72 for the smaller -175). But it mostly comes down airline choice I'd say

      Fabrício 94 the a220 has a more efficient airframe and better wings. The a220 also can turn around faster and airport staff like it more. The a220 is also cheaper for many airlines as it is built in the northern hemisphere. Also the a220 is bigger so it gets more passengers at a similar amount of fuel.

    • @fabricio1803
      @fabricio1803 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@TysonIke, both versions of the A220 are heavier than the E195-E2 and they share the same engine. Again, you are reaching. As for their capacity, it really depends on the airline configuration. KLM cityhopper's seats 132 passengers and Air Canada's A220-300 seats 137, but it's a heavier plane. The E2 costs less than the A220. The fact that the A220 is built in the northern hemisphere has nothing to do with its price lol. Airbus is losing money with the A220 project.
