Mourinho functions best with big characters that aren’t as readily available in the game now. Players are being coached into systems and ideologies with more intensity and for longer so they react more to hands on guidance into a managers vision more than inspiration and siege mentality. What were once fighters are now philosophers.
Pep destroyed Mourinho more times. In their derbies Barca won 7 matches. Real won 2 matches. In one match (2009), Barca thrashed Real 5-0. You can watch the match in its entirety on TH-cam. And City dominates the league two seasons in a row. Mourinho is currently far behind, in 8th position, one of the worst starts to a season in Man Utd's PL history. Mourinho is an outdated egotistical manager. Pep moves with the times and adapts his tactics as needed. He modified his tiki taka strategy when it was no longer working well for him. Mourinho stays fixed using the same old tactics even when he fails with them. Even Chelsea and Arsenal have moved up past Man Utd and are well above it now. Mourinho is tanking in his third season. Don't say it's because Man City spent more than Man Utd. City is performing according to their investment. Man Utd is underperforming relative to their investment. No excuse for it to be in eighth place.
@@engespress we get it, you like pep and think Mourinho is trash. You also probably like Messi and say Ronaldo is trash. If those are your opinions that's cool, just don't try to evangelize people. They are still just your opinions.
I still remember people saying he destroyed beautiful football that day he beat Barca. To me, that was the most beautiful tactical win I have ever seen, he forced Barca to play his own game, denied any advantage that Messi had, and really made history that day.
What a player. Ryan Giggs has said he was his toughest opponent, which means something considering the longevity of Giggs' career and the quality of players he's been up against over the years.
As was Samuel. It was a crime that both of them missed out on the 2010 world cup(and in Zanetti's case the 2006,though he may have been injured i am not sure).
If you look deeply, actually most of them are so underrated and being ignored so much by media: Milito - the most criminally underrated striker ever, such a shame Maradona always kept him in the bench during world cup 2010 Sneijder - Being robbed at Ballon d'or 2010 Cambiasso and Stankovic - People acknowladge their ability, but whenever comes to great midfielders, people always seem forget to talk and include them Maicon, Chivu and Julio Cesar - Same case Zanetti - Although everybody know that Zanetti is Inter's legend, but people seem to underlook him and it's same case as well, whenever people talking about club legends, people always talk and praising about Totti, Giggs, Gerrard, Buffon, Maldini, Xavi, Puyol, and Terry...
This, in my opinion, is Mourinho's crowning legacy. He won the treble with a squad with an average age of +30. That's insane. What's more, the entire squad played like absolute madmen for Mourinho.
Inter fan since 2001 here. I will just point out a couple things you got wrong. 1. Eto'o played on the left, Pandev on the right. 2. Chivu was the starting LB. Zanetti played all over, DM, RB, CB but maybe least at LB. although he notably marked Messi out at that position. 3. Cesar was not a sweeper keeper. 4. Motta played as much as Stankovic did. 5. In Italy, Inter had no problem playing attacking football and did so often. 6. Zanetti Is no stranger to attacking, made obvious by his signature runs down the byline.
Eto'o mainly played on the left the following season with the arrival of Rafa Benitez and then Leonardo but in season 2009/2010 he played the majority of the matches alongside Diego Milito in 4-3-1-2 or on the right side in 4-2-3-1, as an italian and an Inter supporter that witness and lived that wonderful season i stil remember that.
I still remember how 39 year-old Zanetti started the counter attack by dribbling from his own penalty area, running past 3 Milan players and delivering a cross that unfortunately failed to create a goal because Nesta kicked the ball away. Zanetti is truly inhuman.
Every kid nowadays forget defending is hard when opponents keeps on attcking. Eg: Simeone tried to defend 90min but failed terribly this year vs juve. To defend you need players who don't lose confidence and have strong mentality. In 2004 euro greece beat the mighty Portuguese by defending and parking the bus. Defending is an art which many players couldn't master.
Especially modern players! Ppl say Mourinho isn't suited for Premier League as if the Premier League creates world class teams...no the teams like Man Utd 2008, Inter 2010, Real 2016-2018,Bayern, Milan 2003-2007 & Barcelona 2001! None of the modern Premier League creates that, the closest is Klopp's LFC but we all know how quickly that fell apart & Man City doesn't rlly create teams, they just have a huge squad! An all-english UCL final is only happening because Tuchel is brilliant
At Porto he won the UEFA cup and the league and the next year he won the Champions League and the league. It was at Porto that he became a legend then he just kept confirming it at other clubs
@@amantsegu528 At which club that he's been to, has there ever been a successful youth system? Your logic is to blame Mourinho for clubs choosing to look at the short term? I mean, you're talking about the two clubs that have fired double digits worth of managers EACH in the last 10+ years.
this could only be possible if an inter or milan manager makes a stable selection between 5-3-2 and 4-4-2 formations (arrigo sacchi's style) with an appropriate selection of players i 'm a dedicated fan of ac milan myself and i could feel the nostalgia coming from the good old times of the past years
Leon Tan cause lukaku can only wash Diego milito's scrotum. Plus no rb has ever be like Maicon and i don't even want ti start talking bout Walter Samuel
A good example of Mourinho's brilliance. Please make one of Louis van Gaal's great forgotten Ajax team of 1994/95. It, too, was nearly perfect and is worth remembrance.
You completely skipped over Motta, who played probably the most key role in their successful season. Stankovic was the rotation player that covered for all 3 of Motta, Cambiasso, and Sneijder. And even sometimes for Balotelli/Pandev when Mourinho would change the system to 4-3-1-2. But Motta-Cambiasso were the main partnership.
. That is some top googling you've done there mate. But like 007 said, Stankovic covered for 3/4 different positions. So it doesn't mean much that he had more games or minutes OR starts. I don't know whether or not Motta-Cambiasso was the main partnership, it probably was in the big games, but you haven't convinced me otherwise.
Yes, Cambiasso-Motta was the main partnership, but Motta was affected by various small injuries that season, that may explain the statistics. Anyways, Stankovic will always retain a more prestigious place in Inter history, not only because he played longer and won more titles, but mostly because he was and still is more attached to Inter colors than Motta, who never actually gave a shit about that.
Pep is better. Pep's Barca destroyed Mou's Real several times. Barca won 7 matches in their derbies. Real won 2. The signs were there long before now that Pep was the better coach. Now everyone can clearly see it in the Premier League. Possession tiki-taka football with pressing and wing attack is the best style of football today. Mourinho's defensive football and center attack is outdated and many times the club has been played out of the park by supposedly weak teams. The maddening thing is that Mourinho refuses to change his tactics. Too arrogant and egotistical probably to see that his methods are faulty.
His stint at Inter was Jose's masterpiece imo ... He built a beautifully effective team that was without egotistical 'star' players and worked as a perfectly functioning unit.
I pray that one day Inter returns to excellence, its disgraceful that a team with such a history and presence struggle to make even the Europa league. Edit in 2023: WE'RE SO BACK
Here is the brief history. Mourinho starts earlier as a coach and has phenomenal success as an unknown. He gets a reputation for being pragmatic. Barcelona were having problems in 06/07 and 07/08. They won UCL 3 years ago, but for these last 2 years, they were slipping. Ronaldinho was getting lazy and Deco had lost his spark. Barcelona got a new president and they set out to find a new manager. Mourinho desperately wanted the Barcelona job as he had worked there as an assistant coach/translator for Bobby Robson. But the Barca board were scared that he would cause too many problems and instead gave the job to their golden child Guardiola. Guardiola was a big risk as he had never coached a senior team before, unlike Mourinho who was a serial winner. However in Guardiola's first season, Guardiola won every trophy available. 6 in total including a phenomenal Champions League final. It had never been done before. Not only that, he did it in Barcelona's style with Barcelona youth players. They were the toast of world football and people all over the world aspired to play like them. Eventually, Mourinho's Inter met Guardiola's Barcelona and when Inter won, Mourinho ran onto the Camp Nou pitch to celebrate and try to humiliate the Barca board who rejected him. Mourinho's counterattacking went on to beat heavy favourites Bayern Munich in that year's final, another possession based team. Real Madrid was jealous of Barcelona and hired Mourinho to be Barcelona and Guardiola's Kryptonite. Barcelona welcomed Mourinho to La Liga by defeating Madrid 5-0 in their first match up and even though they lost that 10/11 season, there were signs of Madrid coming to life. Madrid won the next league season (11/12) in fantastic attacking fashion scoring a then record for points on the table and total league goals. But there were signs that despite the goals, Madrid weren't living up to the noble values that they were always known to for. Mourinho was accused of creating a team of thugs that played with a siege mentality. It was like he turned a team of royalty into a backstreet gang. And the competition became a battle of archetypes. The philosophical artistry of Guardiola against the pragmatic ruthlessness of Mourinho. However by this stage, the perfectionist Guardiola was already feeling the burnout and pressure from the Barca board. He left Barca after 4 years of success winning 14 trophies, including 2 UCL and 3 leagues. The next year, Barcelona returned to their dominating pattern under new coach Tito Vilanova and Mourinho's constant feistiness lost the trust of the club and dressing room and he was fired. Eventually Guardiola and Mourinho renewed their battle in Manchester. Guardiola's second season saw him create a recordbreaking Man City team. On the other hand Mourinho's Man United won the league cup and the FA cup. However, there was always a feeling that Mourinho's United side never lived up to their potential (as they finished outside the Champions League spots). Guardiola's City is still flying, while Mourinho is now out of work. The future looks to belong to Guardiola, but things can change quickly in football.
True they are entertaining but at what cost? At ss 13/14, they were tremendous but the Gegen pressing squeezes them out so much. Lots of injuries ruin the team, as u can see the next seasons they cannot perform well anymore. At first, I thought it was great and exciting to watch Dortmund (which it is!) but it's really hurt to witness the players fall for injuries (Reus as an example). Klopp's Liverpool this year as well: Half-first season great, the other half they start losing their peak.
Still remember when that Inter team defeated Barcelona! Great match! Diego Millito was a beast. Unfortunately he was not even shortlisted for Ballon D'or!
This year I was 15-16 and would study with soccer on TV. Inter was starting the year off great and were heavily covered. I was immediately a fan. I would bring alot of the stuff I was seeing out on the pitch during high school games. I saw one of the most well organized teams and it reminded me of the mavericks last run with Jason kidd. Had alot of guys finishing their careers strong this year.
The greatest back four I have ever witnessed, I play football as a hobby and play as a CB, watching the defensive masterclass of this team in the champions league gave me goosebumps, I have never in my life looked up to defenders as much as that back four during Joses treble winning team, especially against Chelsea and even more so against Barcelona.
one crucial point for 4-2-3-1 formation when inter was on the defensive mode, because of the small distances between the lines mourinho managed to create two defensive triangles in order to dramatically minimize the treat from the opponent's wingers by minimize the space in they were making their attacking movements (from the left side.chivu -cambiasso-pandev,from the right maicon-zanetti-eto'o were playing very close to each other and they were creating an area of "clashing rocks" from the each side
Almost every player was close to their physical peak or generally very fit and experienced. That probably also contributed to their organization and style
And yet somehow people were calling Inter washed out before Mou arrived lol. Plus Mou did state that this was probably the last time that most of his players would get a shot at the UCL because of their 'age', which does suggest that they were not peaking anymore. They were already on the decline, sadly.
Could you do a video on Mircea Lucescu's Shakhtar Donetsk? He is one of the main reasons why Ukraine is still on the footballing map at club level and is actually the one who discovered Pirlo (look up Pirlo's story from when he was 15 and how Lucescu helped him reach his potential). Also, love your content, hope you reach one million subscribers asap, 'cause you deserve it
I sort of loved how this Inter team and the Bayern team kind of came out if nowhere to challenge to the CL. Even both clubs acknowledged that they didn't expect it.
The way Mourinho still seeks Ibrahimovic to this day when he takes on a new job it's further demonstration that he is a much more complete manager than what most people think. Consider that Inter won that UCL because they got rid of the Swedish guy who used to get the ball and not play with the team like Eto' did after him. It is taxing for a team to have Mou as their manager, he is a great motivator but can leave a team "empty" after pushing the players for a whole year in tough fashion. Benitez found a drained team, both physically and mentally. On the bad side, a team might not tolerate his method. But when it does, he is sure they are totally committed. That's how Inter won the treble, getting rid of an extraordinary player for one keen to play for the team, and trusting their manager. Eto' was basically the only player who kept on playing well the year after: that's why he's one of the greates wingers ever and has uncanny ethics and love for the game.
Dario Alfredo Michielini the one problem with this explanation is that inter didn't want to sell Ibrahimovic, he left because Barca forced through the move and offered Eto'o as part of the deal. Also Millito was played exactly the way you said Ibrahimovic did.
I'm good with the first part, apologies for the "getting rid" part :) The one about Milito I'm not quite sure. We'll never know, but I guess Ibra would have stomped on Snejder's feet in the build up.
Dario Alfredo Michielini The first Chelsea team he built won the CL after he left. The only addition was probably Anelka. His Real Madrid team also won two CLs after he left, he bought in Modric and a few others. We can argue about how much of that team was his, some players were there already, Bale and others were bought in after... But as for leaving teams drained and fatigued or whatever, that's not really true is it? Look at Chelsea this season. Probably Inter was the only team to do worse after he left. His Porto team failed to win the CL again because it was looted by Europe's top clubs - Deco, Carvalho etc
That year for Inter was a now or never situation. All the starting xi were around their 30s and luckily for Mou they were all in top form. Mou left Benitez with an old squad who had already seen their best days and 0 ambition for the upcoming season. Inter has been experimenting with different players and rebuilding their squad from scratch these past years if you think about it. I wouldn't be surprised if they bring in a top manager again to win them the CL once they get a fix on their starting xi and gain some stability in Serie A like they did 10 years ago.
What a team this Inter side had - Zanetti, Lucio, Samuel, Maicon, Sneijder, Eto'o, Milito, Pandev, Stankovic (the most underrated midfielder ever IMO), Cambiasso, Motta....... Sadly they declined ever since. Still waiting for the days when Inter and Milan were challenging Europe together with Juventus to come back again......
sibin mathew Sneijder lost due to the popular vote (thats what I remember back then) . Sneijder or atleast Iniesta should deserve Ballon d'Or that year but because of vote , Messi won it . Don't get it wrong , Messi is good too but not amazing as what Sneijder & Iniesta have achieve that year . Really dissapoint with that award when someone really deserve it can't win it just because of the vote . That the only year where Sneijder have a big chance to win it :/ .
Alkan Channel To be fair Messi was so good that season he was being compared to Pele and maradona. That should give at least some depth to how good he was that season.
They called him boring and defensive, he hammered AC Milan 4-0 at home and 2-0 away, he hammered chelsea 2-1 home and 1-0 away, he hammered Barcelona 3-1 home and eliminated them on aggregate, he hammered Bayern 2-0 in the ucl final.. I'd rather have a boring treble season rather than an aggressive no title season!
That second leg against Barca was insane - Inter sat back following Motta's innocuous face stroke on Busquets. Barca compeleted 555 passes, Inter Milan managed 67. Inter went through. Couldn't help being an Inter fan following Busquets' peekaboo antics.
Been waiting for this one. I enjoyed this side very much (though Inter as a club i dislike). As a non european this was the side which helped m understand tactics more and see how deep football really is. I remember thinking Mourinho was crazy to use Eto the way he did,but it worked. It shows just how far United had fallen that even with his pedigree they won't make the top 4.
This is why this channel is special, it goes in depth. Many are just say that a team was amazing or terrible. But, this channel says why the same team would be amazing or terrible. GG 👏👏👏
Cheers Prithvi, this is what we want to do. We want to look at things in more depth and provide the best content we can. Comments like yours are great - Sam
Mourinho used to play with Zanetti as a DMF with Cambiasso in his side. When Maicon wents up he goes down to cover Maicon's position. If i'm not wrong the only time when Z4 played as LB was when Chivu was injured for the chraneal trauma.
Best manager of all time, beat the best Barcelona of all time 3-1 with a passive attacking way. And the second leg, Barcelona got 86% possession and just scored 1 goal, this manager is crazy man!

Danny try to make a video concerning Greece's football miracle in 2004 which achieved entirely by following counter formation tactical procedures the fact that brings tears in my eyes is that as a fanatic player of managerial pc games i had managed to achieve this miracle on my own by adopting counter tactical patterns on my CM 01-02 game almost 2 years before keep up the good work
Can you do a video explaining why Arsene Wenger hasn't won a league title in 13 years and wasn't able to recreate title winning teams like Fergie, who was always able to win league titles time after time?
looking at this. I think Mou needs to get back to the basics of what made him a great manager. His Man Utd team have no defence and are overreliant on the greatness of De Gea... Start from the back and make his way up top. Man Utd need 2 solid central defenders, also need better wing backs (Sandro would be a good addition, maybe Florenzi to deputies for Valencia). They also need another solid CDM, allow Pogba de freedom of roaming maybe play him like he did for Sneijder and they should be fine. They have enough attacking flair up top to let them have fun.
Porto is my best team in defensive transition Real Madrid is my best team in direct counter attack (offensive transition) Internazionale is my best team in defensive low block... quote : Mourinho
Daniel Pereira Messi has been a winger at the start of his career, a false 9 during his prime, back to a winger in 2015, and a 10 since then. Hard to classify him lmao
Jose will achieve even more and he will be on top again one day. Mark my words. I am a mit biased, because i really like him as a manager, but i really think that he will be champion again. He is legend and genial tactician.
England Goals Played 3-3-4 / 4-2-4 w/ Hidegkuti playing in a False 9 position. Czibor, Puskas, Kocsis and Budai would swap positions in the front 4 to confuse the defense and Lantos and Buzanszk would abandon their roles as Centre-backs to play as attacking Full-backs with Zakarias dropping into the back line.
very nice & I know that you don't include actual footage but it would so helpful to see some actual tactics from Inter 09/10 as an example to support what you are saying.
Hi Mohammed. Rights issues would prevent us from showing real game footage, but it's likely out there on the internet somewhere. Have a look yourself and see if you can spot the system in the real game! - Joe
Ancelotti's Milan was interesting tactically as it managed to play so many creative players at once, but they were not very consistent only winning the league one time and being more of a champions league team where they did great, but even there they struggle sometimes, like when they won over deportivo 4:1 and then lost the away leg 4:0. This inter side was a better organised team and would come out on top over that milan side more often than not probably
Spasimir mourinhos Inter have won a lot in Italy because of calciopoli scandal wich practicaly destroyed Juventus team (they had to sell ibra Viera Cannavaro and many other player) and Milan leaving them no real rivals
by that i don't mean that mourinhos Inter won just because of luck or else... they had a great team, Sneijder deserved the balon d'or 10x more than messi... i just think that those 2 teams that i mentioned where superior (Zidane del Piero Davids in Juve and Kakà Seedorf Maldini Nesta Pirlo in milan)
The key to this team was BALANCE. Right footed players playing on the right or right central. And left footed players playing on the left side and left of centre. It maximises the width of the pitch with players going in their natural directions and opens and exposes teams with players playing on the opposite side to their strong foot. A great system. But finding quality left footers is hard.
despite being an Inter fan I have to disagree that this was the best Italian club since Sacchi's Milan. Lippi's Juventus and Ancelotti's Milan were better and had more success too, reaching more than 1 CL final. Mourinho's side collapsed after he left even though none of the players left the club. Their success was a one season success story where everything gelled perfectly but there was also some luck involved. But it's certainly one of the best examples of a great transfer campaign as the team had 5/6 players in the starting line-up who weren't there the previous season.
mourinho had been selecting a defensive 4-2-3-1 formation during his inter spell and the primitive tactical care was the narrowness of the formation. the tactical milestones were a) the small distance between the defensive and the midfielder line (cambiasso and zanetti were playing very much close to the central defenders and sneijder was acting as a deep lying playmaker who was responsible fo making pieces) b) the exceptional tactical way through which wing players were used ( chivu in a left back position in order to help defensively both cambiasso from his side and the left winger (pandev) who adopted either an inside forward or in a winger role .maicon from the right side managed to act as an attacking right back and to make forward crosses as he had covered both from zanetti (who adopted an anchorman's role with little runs) and eto'o who adopted an inside forward or winger role acoording to the pandev's role, respectively. in sum, mourinho's 4-2-3-1 during his inter spell has been his tactical guideline during the following years as he makes an exclusive use of this system until now. during this season ,he also selected a 4-4-2 diamond formation mostly against lower calibre opponents in serie a

Just like Porto in his time there. It's the kind of squad Mourinho seems to excel with.
Mourninho cant work with lazy whiny insta-model
Mourinho functions best with big characters that aren’t as readily available in the game now. Players are being coached into systems and ideologies with more intensity and for longer so they react more to hands on guidance into a managers vision more than inspiration and siege mentality. What were once fighters are now philosophers.
Hate him or love him but you certainly cannot deny that he is a brilliant tactical manager
Eden Hazard10
Is that why pep destroyed him?

I still remember people saying he destroyed beautiful football that day he beat Barca.
To me, that was the most beautiful tactical win I have ever seen, he forced Barca to play his own game, denied any advantage that Messi had, and really made history that day.
Totally agree with you!
agree +1, there's more than one way to play football.
a little boring but it wins titles
Javier Zanetti is really underrated.
Cambiasso too
Can't agree with you, he is even highly regarded among Milan fans.
What a player. Ryan Giggs has said he was his toughest opponent, which means something considering the longevity of Giggs' career and the quality of players he's been up against over the years.
As a Juve fan, I have to say that Zanetti is one of the best defenders ever. Pure class.
As was Samuel. It was a crime that both of them missed out on the 2010 world cup(and in Zanetti's case the 2006,though he may have been injured i am not sure).
If you look deeply, actually most of them are so underrated and being ignored so much by media:
Milito - the most criminally underrated striker ever, such a shame Maradona always kept him in the bench during world cup 2010
Sneijder - Being robbed at Ballon d'or 2010
Cambiasso and Stankovic - People acknowladge their ability, but whenever comes to great midfielders, people always seem forget to talk and include them
Maicon, Chivu and Julio Cesar - Same case
Zanetti - Although everybody know that Zanetti is Inter's legend, but people seem to underlook him and it's same case as well, whenever people talking about club legends, people always talk and praising about Totti, Giggs, Gerrard, Buffon, Maldini, Xavi, Puyol, and Terry...
having same nationality with Maradona and Messi will do that to anyone.
Sneijder wasn't robbed

Same with Ribery in 2013 and Bale in 2014 but we all know Ballon d'Or is a popularity contest....
Dexter Morgan exactly, same with how Thierry Henry should have beaten nedved in 2003
This, in my opinion, is Mourinho's crowning legacy.
Sean Patrick well said
Eto'o mainly played on the left the following season with the arrival of Rafa Benitez and then Leonardo but in season 2009/2010 he played the majority of the matches alongside Diego Milito in 4-3-1-2 or on the right side in 4-2-3-1, as an italian and an Inter supporter that witness and lived that wonderful season i stil remember that.
I still remember how 39 year-old Zanetti started the counter attack by dribbling from his own penalty area, running past 3 Milan players and delivering a cross that unfortunately failed to create a goal because Nesta kicked the ball away. Zanetti is truly inhuman.
fucking Zanetti could come back now and still run 15km per match, what a beast
@@aleksandarfilipovic4481 Take a look at Tottenham Legends vs Inter Forever.
An all-english UCL final is only happening because Tuchel is brilliant
true but simeone is still amazing
This is what made Mourinho a Legend not Chelsea, Madrid or Porto. This confirmed his legend status.
And then getting booted out of man united 😂😂😂 and chelsea in the 3rd season 😂😂😂
Porto put him on the map. Chelsea confirmed his status. Inter Immortalised him.
What he did with Porto, no one else will do again. Trebles? They happen at top clubs like inter, albeit rarely.
At Porto he won the UEFA cup and the league and the next year he won the Champions League and the league. It was at Porto that he became a legend then he just kept confirming it at other clubs

I just want Inter and AC Milan to play in the UCL again. They struggle to reach the Europa League once again. Maybe with China-money.
glumandino Dont forget Manchester united and Liverpool

this could only be possible if an inter or milan manager makes a stable selection between 5-3-2 and 4-4-2 formations (arrigo sacchi's style) with an appropriate selection of players
i 'm a dedicated fan of ac milan myself and i could feel the nostalgia coming from the good old times of the past years
Why can't he reproduce this at United?
Leon Tan cause lukaku can only wash Diego milito's scrotum. Plus no rb has ever be like Maicon and i don't even want ti start talking bout Walter Samuel
What a team. Milito was such a goal machine that season.
He got so much wrong. So much.
What a player he was, robbed of a champions league final by Sergio Busquets too
Mourinho is a genius. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't understand football.
Alex Rincon and arrogant also.
Alex Rincon
Is that why pep destroyed Jose the NEXT SEASON in the league with 5-0 and in the CL?
@@robert2690 jose won the league when pep was at barca tho
Pep is better. Pep's Barca destroyed Mou's Real several times. Barca won 7 matches in their derbies. Real won 2. The signs were there long before now that Pep was the better coach. Now everyone can clearly see it in the Premier League. Possession tiki-taka football with pressing and wing attack is the best style of football today.
Mourinho's defensive football and center attack is outdated and many times the club has been played out of the park by supposedly weak teams.
The maddening thing is that Mourinho refuses to change his tactics. Too arrogant and egotistical probably to see that his methods are faulty.

How about doing 'A Brief History of Mourinho and Guardiola's rivalry'?
Joel Beams YEESSSSS
The verdict is Mourinho won the rivalry

Yes, because this was the peak of that team. Probably one of the most exciting teams of the last decade.
LordDivock boring. Everybody knows gegenpressing...

The greatest back four I have ever witnessed, I play football as a hobby and play as a CB, watching the defensive masterclass of this team in the champions league gave me goosebumps, I have never in my life looked up to defenders as much as that back four during Joses treble winning team, especially against Chelsea and even more so against Barcelona.
one crucial point for 4-2-3-1 formation
when inter was on the defensive mode, because of the small distances between the lines mourinho managed to create two defensive triangles in order to dramatically minimize the treat from the opponent's wingers by minimize the space in they were making their attacking movements (from the left side.chivu -cambiasso-pandev,from the right maicon-zanetti-eto'o were playing very close to each other and they were creating an area of "clashing rocks" from the each side
Zanetti was like 34 I think so that's not his 'peak'
Lewis Piper He was 39)
Arguably Mourinho's greatest work, this cut through the peak of tiki-taka.
I'm good with the first part, apologies for the "getting rid" part :)
The one about Milito I'm not quite sure.
Amir Hedayati Diego Simeone
When Samuel eto'o only played in the left wing for Mourinho you know how good a manager he is...
Who's here after the Spurs announcement?

Alkan Channel To be fair Messi was so good that season he was being compared to Pele and maradona. That should give at least some depth to how good he was that season.
What a fantastic player Snejider was, without him the treble would have been impossible.
Been waiting for this one. I enjoyed this side very much (though Inter as a club i dislike). As a non european this was the side which helped m understand tactics more and see how deep football really is. I remember thinking Mourinho was crazy to use Eto the way he did,but it worked. Fantastic video man!! Please post as much videos as you can on INTER!
looking at this.

Best italian team since Sacchi's Milan!?! what about Lippi's Juventus!? Ancelotti's Milan?
Or Capello's Milan, they were arguably even more consistent than Sacchi's. Trappatoni's Juventus were pretty insane too.
by that i don't mean that mourinhos Inter won just because of luck or else... they had a great team, Sneijder deserved the balon d'or 10x more than messi... i just think that those 2 teams that i mentioned where superior (Zidane del Piero Davids in Juve and Kakà Seedorf Maldini Nesta Pirlo in milan)
The treble is the treble. Any team that wins one is part of the GOAT - Danny
But this mourinho's side won more trophy in 1 season
Edo Gunadi true but their success was short-lived whereas those other teams were successful for several years.
Danilo Pochini but we’re talking about mourinhos team not the other mangers
@@deviousz9658 in the video it was said Mourinho's Inter were the best Italian team since Sacchi's Milan. Which I disagreed with.
mourinho had been selecting a defensive 4-2-3-1 formation during his inter spell and the primitive tactical care was the narrowness of the formation.
the tactical milestones were a) the small distance between the defensive and the midfielder line (cambiasso and zanetti were playing very much close to the central defenders and sneijder was acting as a deep lying playmaker who was responsible fo making pieces)
b) the exceptional tactical way through which wing players were used ( chivu in a left back position in order to help defensively both cambiasso from his side and the left winger (pandev) who adopted either an inside forward or in a winger role .maicon from the right side managed to act as an attacking right back and to make forward crosses as he had covered both from zanetti (who adopted an anchorman's role with little runs) and eto'o who adopted an inside forward or winger role acoording to the pandev's role, respectively.
in sum, mourinho's 4-2-3-1 during his inter spell has been his tactical guideline during the following years as he makes an exclusive use of this system until now.
during this season ,he also selected a 4-4-2 diamond formation mostly against lower calibre opponents in serie a
do chelsea's squad for 2004-05. That was an awesome team.
Highly recommended topic. We'll keep it in mind once our World Cup campaign is done with - Danny
