Great video Tad! I noticed that the unit has a Symbio control board. There’s an app for your phone called Symbio Service and Install that lets you connect to the unit via Bluetooth. With that, you can change how the unit is set up, timers, see alarm logs, etc. The other cool thing is that it gives you the ability to run test modes for any stage of heating or cooling so that you don’t have to unplug any thermostat wires or jump any out. It’s a great tool to have👍 thank you for the videos and information you put out man!

I went to a call one time at a Fedex store in Atlanta and the three phase unit had been running the compressor backwards for two years. It was screaming! The funny thing is that the fans were running the correct direction but the compressor was phased different. It was a Lennox. They had so many other units that they never noticed until another one went out.

I installed 2 twin circuit 7.5T heat pumps where I work. Both have Symbio 700 controls and both have had controllers replaced. One of them twice. They go into Boot Fail and according to Trane there isn't anything to be done in field other than replace and reconfigure controller. One system developed a leak after 6 months and dumped 20# of 410. All were warranty repairs, but a lot for new equipment. They replaced 20+ year old Carriers.

Almost 5 ton if you go by your duct size, what concur to put in 7.5 ton? Isn't your duct too small.?
Duct is to small for sure just went with the next size down

Was the other unit bringing in a lot of outside air? Sometimes units are oversized if it has to condition outside air.

What is the max static pressure that unit can run at? When you find that out re-check your ductculator.

A lot of leaks with Micro Channels across the board. Trane has 6 week plus lead time for replacements.

Hey Tad, just curious man, if American Standard does a good job with their products in terms of quality on the commercial side why don’t you seem to talk about them more on your videos on the residential side? I know you’ve installed residential American Standard HVAC, but we mostly see York and Samsung on your channel. Is this because of the price of the equipment that customers don’t select it or you’re not that fond of their residential product portfolio? Great video as always!
Probably because they make decent commercial equipment but the resi stuff is garbage?
I am loyal to my distributor because we have had a long history together and they always take care of me.
I know most of the people at the company so its a personal relationship and it works.
Check the plugs to the contractors , they tend to get loose and give you “compressor proving lock out” alarm.

There isnt polarity in AC power. There aren't any poles. AC alternates positive and negative. It looks like a sine wave on a scope. What you're talking about is phase rotation.
