You were flying with FlyArystan, that's daughter company of AirAstana and since they are low cost airlines, they charge for everything like registration to flight (check-in), for luggages, i think even for hand luggages too, but i might be wrong on that. Plus food is not free, too. Next time if you've got the chance fly with Air Astana, also it's a little bit pricey - you'll got everything included in that price and they service is also the best in Kazakhstan, I promise.
