Job I am honored to have done- 10 years in fact. 1986-1996. US Navy Corpsman. 8 of those years with Marines. The first time I was called Doc is still the greatest achievement other than becoming a father in my life.

I'm not a country fan, but this song is truly universal and tugs straight at the heart.
As a USA veteran, we do call them all doc. Might use their name if we know them well, but usually it’s just doc. Impossible job.
It must be an honor to be called doc. I have the upmost respect for them. And for all the Devi e men. God bless them all.

My Grandfather was a medic in Vietnam he lost a lot of his friends/brothers, he was hit 2 in the same knee, he still had nightmare's for years, you had to wake him up a certaited way.

This song resonates with me 9 years a medic and everyone called me doc and I have the same last name
