Ikechi is horrible. He's an insecure man who is a big fake and is intimated by a very successful woman. Him and Michelle are both the worst in this season! Madison isn't into Allen which sucks for him since he's such a nice guy. I love David, he may not be right for everyone, but he's trying more than most men would have and has always been nice to matter how horrible she is to him. I am very much a family person and he's a real family man which again for me is very appealing, but again, I get that he may not be right for Michelle, but she has no excuse for how she treats him. I really don't get what Camille's issue is since she is also biracial and doesn't have any "swag" either. I think Camille likes a more bad boy type and Thomas obvious isn't but he seems like a really decent guy and obviously her bad boy type hasn't worked out for her. Karla is just a little out there who wants someone who will support her and go along with her weird ideas and that's not Juan. I also don't think Juan is attracted to her. I love your reviews Lex!
I can't stand Ikechi. That man's going to die alone. This is a great breakdown comment. Juan is not esoteric like Karla...it's not gunna work. Camille is too much into this race card. Ikechi is just a no all the way around. Madison is filled with hate...I dunno why she came on this show.
Another great analysis and breakdown Lex. And you have the best hair on TH-cam. I love your hair! I just wanted to say that for the first time, I understood Camille's issue. There IS a cultural difference and potential concern (and incompatibility) for me if my spouse frequents clubs known for racist behavior. If Camille, for example, has a zero or low tolerance for racist environments, and Thomas turns a blind eye in those environments, that is a huge issue. Call it a "cultural" difference. Call it lack of swagger. Call it whatever you want. But that is a reason for concern that i would acknowledge. That is exactly a concern that creeps into interracial relationships, but rarely in relationships with two Black folks together. To me, this episode clarified a lot of Camille's concern to me. I would not expect my mate to be Marcus Garvey or Malcolm X. But at the same time, I would not want a partner who is oblivious, scared or ill equipped to handle race in America. (I'm sort of speaking from the experience of recently dating interracially and had this exact issue arise) You gave Tom all kinds of grace in this episode -)😅
Thank you so much! 😄 I 100% understand where you are coming from and ABSOLUTELY agree that I would never want a partner who turns a blind eye to racial issues or simply doesn’t understand/or want to understand what it’s like to be a black (woman) person in America. I would NEVER want to make it seem like that is my stance because it’s not. I do understand where Camille is coming from, and have had a moment like that myself. However, to me, because I don’t know further about them frequenting a club with “racial issues” until they have an in depth conversation, I really don’t find it enough to say that she and Tom are completely different people and to even imply he’s not black. My opinions may change further and I really hope they talk about it more because it gives me more questions than anything.
@@LexAddison I agree. We need more context. It will be interesting to see how they unfold. My fear is that eventually, Thomas will give up. He seems like the cultural issue is getting overwhelming and exhausting to him. I think he wants a woman can sort "give it a rest" on race and cultural conversations.
Lex, love your hair up. Makes your beautiful face stand out. I love this look on you ❤ Ikechi just hates women in my opinion. He reminds me of a guy in the closet who talks down to women and makes them the reason for a relationship not working out. He's clearly there to promote himself as a song writer and author. He's just a jerk. He doesn't deserve that beautiful successful woman. Emem deserves so much more.
I think Juan and Ikechi hate women on the low. Neither are there for the right reasons, both want fame. Michelle is being mean to David. Him living at home was a hard no for her. I also think she dosen't like that blonde hair, blue eyes plug & play thing he has. It's specfic & she is no natural blonde. ..
Michele asked for a light skin black man. I think she wanted a different type of light skin black man. Pretty sure she does not like David's top knot hair do either.
Michelle thinks she's got Emem money. Also renting is not more expensive than buying. Study after study has shown, renting will ultimately always be cheaper.
Saying that renting is “throwing away money” is in reference to the fact that when you’re renting that you’re not investing in anything. A house will be more expensive, of course, due to being responsible for the other costs that come with a house.
Camille absolutely knows what she’s talking about! If Thomas is used to hanging out at a bar that is known to have racially charged incidents occur there - and he’s okay with that, as evidenced by his continued presence at said bar - then he is not in touch with his blackness/ethnicity such that such behavior would be a problem for him. Camille is right to have a problem with that: Why is Thomas allowing folks to disrespect him, giving the establishment his money, when they’re a business that treats brown people poorly?
@ Well, the way Camille said it suggests that demeaning incidents at the bar was common knowledge amongst brown ethnic folks; but who knows, really 🤷♀️. It’s just that she keeps trying to explain what she’s feeling, and it feels to me that reviewers are downplaying her sincere concerns- even when she gives a specific example, like the rac$ist bar. I think that many of us who went to predominantly white high schools and colleges can remember our well-meaning white friends trying to fix us up w black guys who *seemed* to be from a similar background; yet when you meet the dude, it’s clear that he is not celebratory of his ethnicity in a way that’s comfortable to you. The wyt girls at my school did not know how I hung out in my day-to-day life w my family, how we behaved at family barbecues or reunions, how I cut up with friends in my neighborhood. Camille wants to feel comfortable w her man - and that’s not too much to ask, seeing as minorities have to make ourselves fit into wyt spaces 80% of our day (at the job, etc). Let her come home w her partner and relax in her blackness, which is how she identifies.
@ look, I also grew up in a predominantly white environment and understand a lot of what you’re saying. For me, as a reviewer, all I can really discuss is what I see on screen. I’ve even given Camille grace in my last video where I stated a lot of what you said regarding wanting to feel comfortable with your partner and their friends. There is nothing that truly suggests that Thomas is “not in tune with his blackness” and nothing that really shows that she and Thomas are very different. I may eat my words in a few episodes though!
@@LexAddison Yes I agree. After this episode, I will now reserve judgment and see what they show us. But prior to this, I had nothing to work with for Camille other than this generalized problem with "swagger". However, if future episodes show that Thomas exists in and socially plants himself in racially insensitive spaces, that is a legitimate concern. Keep in mind when it was brought up in this episode, neither Tom nor Tim or anyone in his crew disputed it. But I agree with Lex, my eyebrow is raised, but I will reserve judgment until I get more information. But I was never as harsh on Camille in general. I believe she is in her rights to want someone who is in alignment with her culturally. My issue is she is navigating it wrong. She should just sit quiet, express her concern, and let it unfold. Constantly crucifying him about his "lack of" swag or culture is mean behavior. And if Thomas doesn't snap soon, he's rounded up his support circle now and they will likely shut her down themselves, especially Tim. A person can only take so much passive aggressive attacking on their character or identify.
That book Ikechi is writing has to be called How to Lose a Girl in 10 Days 🤣
💯 Ikechi was trying to shame Em for not cooking and he ain’t fooling me! 3:30

Great vid Lex!!! I watch this show through your reviews 😭😂😂
Love the review, I can't with Ikche and Camille!
Geeze, who is out here on TH-cam calling you aggressive??
You're just straightforward and know how to back up/clarify your opinion! Love your replies!
She’s aggressive? Says the guy who just tried to pick a fight with her in front of her friends.. 😅
