I always clenched and my doula said wiggle your toes and you won't clench! Best tip ever! I would sway and wiggle my toes slightly as I thought in my mind "open...open...open"
I've done this 7 times and about to do it again next week. Ive tried alllllll of these things because i truly trust that ladies like you know what you're talking about. However my labours go too fast no matter what i do and sometimes you just have to do certain things in the moment.
Idk about too fast, that sounds right up my alley! 😂 congrats mommma! Assuming you have now been one badass woman8 times by now! It’s abt to be #3 for me! I’m so scared. Lol.
Thank you! This was so helpful. I've heard before that muscle relaxation is important, but never thought much about how automatic it can be to clench my butt when I'm in pain, or tense up my face, neck, and shoulders.
@@birthtoolbox yes! I had an 11 lb baby & didn't tare! & when I got to my midwife I was dilated 8cm & i said "are you sure?" I was so amazed bc It did not hurt!! I kept just thanking God for every surge & focused on relaxing, & keeping my whole body loose & breathing & saying "down" and "open". I also had been taking 'gentle birth' & listening to hypnobirthing videos by bridget teyler. & videos by care about little ones... All the tips & truth help!
I've had contractions start twice this pregnancy, at 37 weeks and at 39 weeks. Both times I decided to go to sleep and by the time I awoke they had stopped completely. I recommend NOT sleeping for mothers who want to keep contractions going. Stay on your feet.
That sounds frustrating, but I’m sticking to my experience and training with this and respectfully disagreeing. If labor is real, it won’t stop because you fall asleep. It is common that people experience times of contractions that aren’t real labor and it stops.
Hi mam, is there any alternative for birth ball or peanut ball? Can we use chair instead of birth ball...when will be ur next live childbirth classes? Am 34 weeks pregnant mam...
I. Always. Clench. My. Butt. when talking about NOT clenching your butt. LOL I can even catch myself doing it when supporting people in labor! A trick I learned to help me release my butt is to wiggle my toes.
Let me know if you clenched your butt during that first tip!!
Butt was clenched!
yes!
@@laurahamlyn3247 it’s hard not too, right?

Lol if it's labour nothings stopping it
I managed to sleep on my knees between my contractions and nothing stopped my labour. (It was night time)
This is what I'm dealing with now. Every time I go to sleep the contractions stop
Super helpful. Thank you

Yes 🙌 every time and now on to my fourth baby 😢
Love it!! I have 4 too.
Any tips for twins??
Tim?? Is this an announcement??
Is tens machine good to use if we should keep our mucles relaxed?
Yes, I think you could still be loose and relaxed with a tens machine on. But, I would only use the Tens if you had back labor.
You said one shouldn’t change positions but what if one feels like urinating
Just wait for the contraction to be over and urinate during the rest time between contractions.

LOL and I love that trick!
Anyone else here trying to figure out how slow down labor lol
That’s uncommon! Are you too early for labor?
@@birthtoolboxright? not really early, just worried of things escalating too quickly before I get to the hospital 🙈
Is it ok to do hip circles on a birth ball during a contraction or do you have to stay still?
Yes! Totally okay during and in between a contraction. Do what feels right!
Yeah, I’m a supper buts clincher 😅😅
No clinching in labor!! 😀
Oh shit lol ... that'd my natural response....I wanted to squeeze a stress ball.... but damn I must let the pain consume me
I like to think of it as riding the wave instead of letting it consume. Just a different way of thinking!
❤
Thank you for all of your comments! I really appreciate them.
Butt clench i def tried it as u said it
LOL! It's hard not too!
