I watched Sam's review and it looks absolutely tremendous especially in Great Central green. Speaking about maintenance, I only ever serviced Tri-ang and old Hornby Dublo locomotives, it's quite a fuss with this one. I'm broke from buying the Dublo Flying Scotsman but when I pool up more money I most certainly gonna get one
After seeing your criticism of the model, and not caring for the A5s in general, I now have two reasons for wanting to steer clear of this model. It's good to see someone who's not afraid to challenge the general consensus.
Hi mate I hope you are well Yes I've review it and overall a good model It does need a few Twix in it. And definitely more pick ups too. Why do people hate hornby? Thank you for sharing your models with us Keep safe ARP
I almost pushed the "buy" button a few times to acquire either a GCR or L&NER livered example. But several mediocre reviews put me off. Yours has reinforced my decision not to buy. And you're spot on with the general anti-Hornby bias.
I have two of these with roads and rails sound chips and stay alive fitted as part of the service and mine run absolutely fine. Bad Friday nite trains do get in any batch. Guess you where unlucky jock
Agree wholeheartedly about that bl**dy spring on the front bogie - and that’s the one fault on this loco. But how to fixit ….. any ideas🤔🤔 gratefully accepted
I completely agree; as a non-UK resident, though, it would be a net-loss if I sent a model back due to import rights, which is why I rarely do so. I am not annoyed enough by the model's poor quality to send it back.

I wouldn't even go so far as to call the loco mediocre, just designed like it was drawn up 10 years ago!
Saw one of these at a show that was DCC that REFUSED TO TURN A WHEEL for the whole bloody show 😂😂😂

The problem with that is, some faults don't become faults until after they've been used for some time.
It's a toy .It's not real ...honest jock
It's a model. Not a toy.
