- I was feeling a wee bit run down, so I decided to play a tank that I think everyone should give another shot. The M24 Chaffee.
The M24 Chaffee is a US light tank that's available early in the tech tree. It sits at 3.3 BR and is a very capable machine. Probably my favourite light tank in the game.
Panzers, T-34's and even the mighty KV-1 can fall victim to the M24's powerful 75mm M6 gun due to its quick reactions and vertical stabiliser. It's mobility gets it around the battlefield with ease and with good use of the scouting mechanic, it can help identify threats to your team mates before they've even seen them.

I live in Washington State so it's the same for me. Anything over room temp outside is hot if it's sunny lol. I prefer cold weather

Chaffee, M3 Lee, and Crusader mk3 are the best allied tanks hands down

Speed of the brain or the vehicle? You can be an absolute moron and do well in a Russian T50. Or you can pull 200 IQ plays with a T95 that moves about as fast as my grandma.

The Chaffee is my favorite late-game spawn at 5.7. Nobody is ready for the speed and sneaky sneaks.
Idk man, for me it gets outrun too much by panthers and others. Not a chance.

The most kills i have ever gotten in a match was with the chaffee and f6f5 with a total of 26 kills, never will have a game like that again
2ish years ago I somehow managed to score 21 kills in 1 life with the Chaffee on Abandoned Factory. Since then the M24 makes up probably 75% of my time in war thunder

Haven't played this game in about 4 or 5 years but I loved the Chaffee. I understand the mechanics of the game have changed but back then angled armor could get some pretty stupid bounces. Bounced a KV-2 aphe shell with the front of the chaffee one time.

still one of if not my #1 favorite tank in the game. The Chaffee, first Sherman, the P40, and the P47 and I can be entertained all day long
P38 and Chaffee is one of the most powerful combos in the game. So much fun.
Just started the game last week, took the Chaffee into RB Japan as the south team and played off of the hill northwest of C. Angle was a bit tricky but the gun depression made it manageable. Picked up like 9 kills in that game alone.
It's literally criminal that you don't have a larger following dude. Your videos are a lot more informative and entertaining than a lot of the bigger names in the community.
What a difference a good crew makes. In that first game a relatively new player would have been dead. Those crews who were red in this video would have been dead a long time ago. Well played though. Want to give the Chaffee a whirl now
Waaaay back in the day the Chaffee didn't have its hull gunner and it was honestly way worse. Now you can sometimes survive a smack to the turret and get away, but back then a single 20mm hvap coming in at the right angle would empty your turret and leave you dead. She didn't have smoke grenades, or scouting and I honestly freaking hated it. As the years have gone on, she's gotten nothing but better and better. Now the Chaf is probably my favorite low tier US scout, and is useful way above its actual BR range.
People seriously under use smoke at almost all tiers but the highest. It can not be stated how amazing it is to just flat out block line of sight. Things like dropping a grenade into a 4 way intersection and scooting thru it without being spotted, using them to cover your allies advance or repairs. The ability to retreat into cover if need be, even in flat and open terrain. Blocking sight for aircraft. I stand by that if you still have smokes in the chaffee when you die, you didn't do something right.

Chaffee’s HE rounds saved me many times.
Sometimes light targets like trucks or certain open top tank destroyers can be destroyed by HE without necessarily hitting the target directly.
Splash Damage.
When I grinded out the Japanese tech tree, I swear the M24 was my ace in the hole. I could bring it to any battle rating up to Rank IV and it was just something I could really rely on.

Odd playing in 3.7 is basically an m1 Abrams fighting an Italian L3/33

The Chafee is so fast that people forget its so small and just rush into Battle.
Then again as a Flankpanzer 38 I love killing them.

XP-38 does pretty good at it's br in ground, granted the battles are low br but the rockets and the offensive armament do pretty good damage.

@@cainburnell5272 M8 rockets are not bad at that br, they're cheap and have minor performance penalties so I sometimes I take them in Air RB cause why not
@@howiethehowitzer7398 Yeah i use the XP-38 for my 3.3 lineup and even up to my 4.7 lineup since i haven't researched the attacker line of the tech tree

As you mentioned about Server Connection issues, honestly, I never had any lagging or connection Problems on the EU Servers.

They should add the norwegian NM116, a beefed up M24 with 90mm, new driveline and laser rangefinder and support for NVD/infrared optics.

am in north america and the game has been giving me fits lately same thing with the pl and terrible ping as well considering am on the us servers ffs had a few days of server not responding all in the last 4 weeks or so great video as usual hope you feel better

I usually hop in with the M24 chaffee and rack up some quick 3-4 kills with it and then I go on with either the M10 or some Shermans lol
An Angled T-34 1940 is really good too
This is one of the few tanks that you can uptier to 6.0 and be like: Alright bring it on.
Alway reverse in the M24 as the reverse limit is 14mph and the stabilizer is good up until 15mph.

inspired me to use m24, i take it out a game and get 13 kills no deaths using only the tank. pro tip, turn sound down, your own engine sound down, gun and enemy engine sound up you will be like an owl to picking off mice
