- DID I MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE LIVING IN BURIRAM. I did say to my girlfriend i will try to live hear . As time is moving on everything started to change. I mean everything. I didn't make many videos in pattaya . I did have problems with the laptop because the windows had an update, and it changed everything downloading videos from my camera . I am sorry about this, and i am not happy at all . so much i wanted to show you . I couldn't record videos because I was really stressed about it . I hope you all understand . This video is me in buriram living with my girlfriend in her house. This is definitely something I will share with all of you. The next video coming very soon . I live in Buriram and living in a village can be very stressful, even if the place is quiet and tranquil.
Just remember you are giving her a better life than she could have dreamed off, so don't lower your standards and make sure you don't get pulled into any family politics.
@AndrewpeterkilleyAndrewKilley Since I have been in buriram, I have noticed a lot of problems financially . No one has money or is not working. Big problems . @@jay.b. The government is going to give 10,000 baht handouts to most locals soon, as the country's economy is running on fumes. If you intend on staying in Buriram or nearby, you must start meeting local farang, as they can / will help you.

You seem like a nice guy. Sorry if this sounds negative, but you have a great deal to learn about Thailand and particularly Thai women. Be very careful what you commit too, I would hate it if you ended up like many foreign men here who have had their life's ruined. Border runs are not the answer to staying here long term either. That’s not bad for 15000 baht , that’s about £330 .
It works out roughly £10 a night so it’s a good deal I think.
You need to relax a bit Jay and take in the Thai culture.
Maybe hire yourself a scooter and go for a ride .
Thai villages are very quiet and laid back .
I like this guy but I’ve realise that I’d get bored if I retired.

When you get to 50 years old get a retirement visa. Try Cornerstone Property Agency in Pattaya which is run by an English guy who can advise you on the best courses of action for someone in your position. He can help you out with all sorts of issues.
In the meantime you may find that you need to do a few border runs. Good luck.

Hi Jay the village looks nice. Do what makes you both happy Jay. The country life is ok but it’s not for everyone. Having your condo and then spending some weekends at her home may help with getting about doing things so you’re not sitting around . A few vlogs uploaded Jay looking forward to watching them.

Sorry but no way should you be staying in Burriram, you don’t want to hear this but get out of there. It’s only going to cost more and more. I noticed a very expensive gold bracelet on her wrist in the last vlog. Gold is as good as cash to Thai women. Please do yourself a favour and think. As others have said talking from experience. All the attention is good at first, but quickly becomes stale especially in Burriram.

@@jay.b. Just so you know I moved here 3 weeks ago at the age of 49. I have been coming to Thailand since 2017 and made many mistakes, luckily didn’t cost me to much but they cost me. My girlfriend at the time took me to Burriram and believe me I was paying for everything but as it’s so cheap you don’t mind because it doesn’t cost that much. I lasted 4 days and got out of there. I now rent a condo in Jomtien, have a Thai bank account. Then in the next month I’m going to a school or having lessons to learn the language before I do any travelling. You seem to much of a nice person to lose everything
Hi Jay. Speaking from experience (I lived in Thailand for 20 years) you should ignore the naysayers and make your own decisions. It would be good for you to stay in the village for a month or two. Walk a lot ,exercise,eat and drink with the locals you will learn some Thai. People in the village live on less than 500 baht per day,this should be your budget. Stick to it. If the girl has feelings for you she will want to save your money not spend it. It will do you good to learn about Thai people,food culture etc.

Hi mate. I've been married for 15 years. My biggest piece of advice is to say "No" and smile. They're only asking likw children with ice cream. Eventually we tell the kids. No you've had enough. My wife is amazing but i forget sometimes shes Thai. Good luck it can be a great life change you've made.

Firstly jay you should always listen to your gut instincts as they are usually right. You may not see any red flags at this moment in time but your gut feelings will.
You left swathling to change your life from feeling bored, depressed and lonely, you are starting to go back to that now slowly the only difference is your not lonely now.
In my opinion you need to be in an area where there are alot more people so you can interact with them on a daily basis.
You spent too long in the uk feeling isolated so any super quiet place may
not be for you .
Everybody in life needs a purpose so you need a plan.
Perhaps options could be change your visa over to a education visa and go to school and learn thai , a visa that may allow you to do voluntary work eg dog/ cat rescues , homeless shelters if they have, orphanages etc you need to do something to feel useful.we all do.
You know the saying there is a girl in every port jay? As much as i know you really like your lady, there will always be others and even better, that you will meet.
It can be very easy to loose focus on what you set out to achieve once a woman is involved.
Its going to be very hard for you as you are a very kind empathetic man who wears his heart on his sleeve.
Stay focused and always listen to your instincts, they will always guide you the right way.❤️
Having just watched this entire vlog I stick to my other comment about jetting out of Burriram. You are kidding yourself if you think you are happy. You keep saying you want time alone with your girlfriend away from her family, do you not realise you come behind the family dog in the pecking order. If you carry on like this I promise in 6 months you will be skint and back in England, the girlfriend and her family will be living off your proceeds. You have no plan. You need to learn the language before you go to somewhere like Burriram.

@jay.b. normal video ratio on you tube is accepted as 16/9 horizontal or 9/16 vertical you seem to be shooting/ editing in 4/3. You can set video ratio on your camera or editing software or both.

@jay.b. on the go pro you can set everything up. Try 16/9 format and 4 k resolution if the light is good. Better still watch a you tube video on setting up your camera. An external mic would help too as sound quality is poor. You also speak quite quietly.😄

Watching this is like deja vu for me. I did it and spent almost 750.000 POUNDS trying to make it work "up country" and now I'm back in the UK and surviving. That was 10 years ago and guys are STILL thi king this is the life for them. It's not. It's for Thais. Holidays are one thing, but life in Isaan is NOT for you. Please move to Jomtien, join an expat club, and CHILL.The other guys will have the advice face to face for you and not a 1000 miles away up country. @jay.b. I'm OK because I had family and friends to go back to. Always have an escape plan! Please! One thing that, no matter HOW much a girl cares or even loves you, DOES matter. The LANGUAGE BARRIER. You can survive in Pattaya etc but you are at the mercy of thai culture - good and bad - when you're alone up there in their country.

Just because your GF invited you to meet her family doesn’t mean she is going to rip you off and she is a money grabber .
At the end of the day the decision is yours , you either want a relationship with a Thai woman or you want to be alone and never trust any Thai woman .
I Married a Thai woman but my mistake was that I rushed into it and it didn’t last and she was from isaan .
Just take your time and don’t rush into anything, don’t make promises that you don’t intend to keep but just take your time and enjoy time with your companion
