Morally reprehensible putting the athletes grief out there like this. Let's review: “I’m not going to tell you how to process recent events.” Then she goes on to wax platitudes about grief before remind them that other chumps don't get the chance to compete (which comes off like a subtle reminder that they could lose their shot if they withdraw now). How many athlete had to be thinking at least once, “am I safe today?” How many of them had to choose between competing and grieving but felt coerced because CF leadership went ahead with the games? This is utterly shameful.
