You definitely need one with Usagi because he came through the portal in his first appearance in season 3 of the 1987 show. That is also the first episode with this portal generator in it.

Yeah, I was quite underwhelmed when I opened mine today. I thought only one of the inserts was just okay.
Since Turtles are apparently going to show up in the Masters of the Universe Origins line next year, it’d be nice to see an insert with Castle Grayskull or something else MOTU related.

I personally would like a couple crossovers into the Turtle- verse portals with other TMNT versions looking back. Mirage in their black and white comic world, 89 movie turtles, 2012 nickelodeon turtles… even the Bay Movie Turtles.

I was also underwhelmed, but it was exactly what I thought it would be. I would’ve liked the classic tecnodrome in dimension X image. Also a silicone panel that things could enter or exit from. That would be my custom wishlist.

Power ranger command center. Have you thought about using non glossy paper? Makes it easier to photograph
Yeah, they will most likely be on card stock with no gloss. This was just to test and get it out for the video. Power Rangers is great!
*Some ideas for screens (cause they're endless) would be:
1). The original Mirage Turtles - like the shot from that TMNT '03 crossover episode
2). The movie Turtles looking back in bewilderment
3). An effect that looks like it's from Stargate
4). Static on a TV - a bit boring, but it's an idea 🤷🏼♂️
5). Army of Darkness portal image with the Necronomicon twirling about
6). A whole bunch of images - akin to Marty Jr. from BTTF 2 where he turns on all those TV channels at once.
7). The Simpsons couch gag - but with Turtles! And poor Splinter tryin' to squeeze in like Homer.
Wonderful ideas!
Could do portal cross overs with characters like Battle Toads, Double Dragon, Simpsons, X-Men! (yes I'm thinking of all the competing beat em up arcades from back in the day, I intend to use my portal with my Turtles in Time)

I would make ones that had cutouts where you could place a figure in it so it looked like it was coming out of the portal. Might take a few tries to get the cutout just right so it wasn't all gappy.
Yes! I would like to do this, but not sure the best route to make it universal
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Probably have to pick a character and a pose and have that as the predetermined cutout. Or maybe several copies of the same background with a few different cutouts for different poses? I'm not sure either.
One with Usagi's world and a cutout for a foot to come through and maybe his upper torso and arm would be rad.
@@joenovak2261 that would be sweet. May have to do those as personal options or leave it for other folks. I gotta work in the universal space with these prints. Really want that Usagi setup now. Haha
@@NostalgiaUnboxed That makes sense, and I think I might have come up with a more universal solution. Make the complete backdrop with no cutout, then have a file someone can download and print of the cutout design and maybe they can move it around a blank template of the portal pattern so they can cut it out of their copy of the backdrop?
5:47 Hmmm, my perspective has very much changed now since seeing what you made. Those drawings, my god, those drawings. You're just as good as me, yet I am in complete awe with how you made those look _exactly_ like they're from the show. All the shadowing and colour transitions. This is far beyond my version of Photoshop. So it's all from a iPad eh. I've never drawn with a stylus pen. Back in circa '95, I'd draw Looney Tunes/Lion King characters via the arrow keys on a computer, then using a mose in Paint. Now I'm quite sure these techniques are a bit more difficult than using a pen on a screen lol. I'd probably intensely enjoy drawing this digital way that you (and seemingly everyone online) do.
I recommend it. An iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and the Procreate app. With all the brushes included in the app and the free packs creators offer, it really helps in getting the look I am going after. I thought the Batman background would be harder to do, but I found some textured brushed that seemed to do the trick. (at least for generic cave stuff). I really want to do Mutant Mayhem, but I'm struggling with that brush look they have

Not sure if anyone has suggested this one or if it is lame, but maybe you could do the original Star Trek cast (Kirk, Spock) looking through that portal that sent them to Depression era Earth. I know you said animated, and there was an animated Star Trek series. Maybe not the most popular or current reference, but Star Trek fans would get it

I hope Neca will make Holcomb Hare. Idk if Holcomb was created for the cartoon. Or if he was an actual fairytale character. Like always it's probably a rights issue. Wether it's a company or an individual that owns Holcomb's rights. Since 2024 is the year of the rabbit. Now is the perfect time to make him.

for the drawings, you could even add magnifying lenses or lenticular sheets to them, to sort of match the feel of the ones included. My idea for a cool insert would be to 3D resin print screens with actual 3D figures popping out of it

I've actually been waiting to see how the back of this looks and how the cards slide in. I might make some mini dios for it with some backlit images. I didn't care for the ventricular images either and they're typically pretty limited to very specific/niche scenes. I'm looking forward to getting the 2 I ordered tomorrow!

It's *nuts* this thing was over $30. I've seen _waaaaay_ better dio pieces come with Diamond Select figures. So if going that route, this should be a pack-in with a figure. Like that Hokum Hare fella I mentioned. Him and the portal generator packed in a "VHS" ultimate box for $34.99-$37.99...whatever the new 'standard' price is.

Yeah, I did the screen image for Batman, but wanted Rick and Morty to really pull their portal into this world. Depending on how I can connect the two worlds I may do the portal overlay like you're saying. I wanted to mostly use the other world's interface, but I may run out of ways to link them like that
