Would you really ?? Don't forget you would have to take the good with the bad also. Most people had no car. an outside toilet, a coal fire, and a tin bath. No TV ,obviously no internet or social media. You might be on perhaps £3.00 per week if you're lucky. Still like to go back ??
Somehow, she looks kinda small now. I know the KGV specs and as a boy was in awe of them all. But, looking at them against today's oil tankers, or those stupid hotel barges, or a Ford aircraft carrier... Time marches on I guess.
I’m very proud to say that my father served on HMS Duke of York a magnificent example of British engineering and power.
Greetings from the British Royal family I will love to know more about you message me via my email princeandrew241@gmail.com
Terry Burrell She was a magnificent ship. My father also served on DOY and was at the battle of North Cape in 43, he was a midshipman.
was he there, when Scharnhorst was met ?
God how I wish I could live in those days. Back when we were allowed to be proud being British. Back when Britain was British.
If only, JM, if only!
I don't care if I'm allowed to or not... I AM proud to be British, and to anyone who doesn't like that? Tough... 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

All this was not enough to preserve any battleship of the R.N. Shame!
