I love watching your sleeper house videos. It reminds of going to Sportsman's Lodge with my dad and his friends when I was younger. Good memories! But nothing is better than watching Gary set the hook!!
Ill be up on lotw out of arnesens jan 23-27, cannot wait, love your videos. Reminds me of all the great times and the excitement of a dead stick bobber down. Keep em comin, tight lines!
I was up last weekend with my boys and we caught a lot more mid to large walleyes. No real small guys. We also caught 5 burbot between 25 and 33 inches. I hope you have a trip like last year! Good luck!
Love watching the banter between the guys while they fish. Should come out to Lake Eries western basin and chase hard water Walter's some time. 10 plus pound walleye all day!!!
Dales is my first choice. Dale and Connie provide great service and take care of everything. I know that they will have pots, pans, dishes...etc, TV, dvd and electricity. So they have all that you need at a fair price. After that I would say it greatly depends on what you are looking for. I have a video on Sportsmans Sleepers so you can see their layout. They do not provide a tv or electricity but you can bring your own if you have a generator. Their ice house is 12 x 18 and set up so that there is a lot of room to move around, it's conversational as you are across from each other rather than back to back and you sleep next to the holes so you can have rattle reels down overnight if you like that. I have also been to Kruegers Ice cabins. They have more of a variety. At Kruegers you pay for the house by the 24 hr period where at the others you pay by the person. Kruegers has a variety of houses so if you have smaller or larger parties they have flexibility to fit. Kruegers also provide tv and electicity. Sportsmans is lower in the bowl, Dales is closer to long point and Kruegers is out of Muskeg bay. We will also be trying Bostic Bay ice castles this year but I haven't been there yet so couldn't tell you what it's like. There are sooooooo many places up there so I have only scratched the surface but I can say that I had a good experience in all three. I hope that helps.
That’s so much for all of that info! We just stayed at sportsmans last weekend and did the day trips for 2 days. Just didn’t feel like we had enough time to fish. Do the Dales sleepers have outlets? We have 2 guys who have CPAPs and would need to be plugged in. Thanks for your help!
@@Mcgeissler88 yes they do. They have some houses with outlets that are right next to the fold down beds and some houses the outlets are up higher. But either way they do have outlets in all their houses
I won't be going up with Gary and Joshua until the end of Feb. I went up last weekend and will be going up five times total. Basically evey other weekend until March. That is not how it usually works out but this year I am getting in some extra trips. Two will be at Dale's. How about you?
@@thegoodenoughangler We are going up to Dale's in March could not get our normal 1st Weekend so ended up with the 18th so hoping it is not an early spring and can't get out on the ice. Have you ever fished that late out of Dale's. I have heard the bite can really turn on later in March, especially other species. Last year I used a drop shot on my dead stick with a rattle claw on the weight and red hook. Pound the bottom, lift and jig for noise then put on the bucket. I caught at least 60 percent of my fish on that rig.
@@galenerdmann6259 Interesting you say that. I had that same set up ready on my last trip but never used it. We caught so many fish (and I was very busy helping my boys) that I never took it out. Maybe I will give it a try next time.
Oh I forgot about the late ice questions. The latest I have ever been is last weekend of Feb going into first weekend of March. I have heard the same thing. I think the fishing is good I just to line up trips like that because I don't want to risk not going. Let's hope you get good ice!
Tom's tackle D frost. They sell Tom's tackle all around baudette. Steve's lucky bait many of the gas stations will have it they do not sell it at outdoors again. It's a gold pink and glow single hook. You can also order online through Tom's tackle website
No, but we easily could have. Joshua will take home his limit, I go up a couple times and usually just take home three which is enough for a meal, Gary will eat it only if we cook it for him :)
Gary always wins, regardless of the "contest rules".

Do you still go?
I usually make a trip up to Red Lake once in a while. I haven't been to LOTW in 16 years unfortunately. I would like to get my dad there again
Happy to see Gary doing much better this trip. It's always fun watching you guys out there. Thank you
Thank you!
Gary is the best! His delayed back breaking hook sets are that of legend too.
Agree, Gary's hook sets are now my favorite thing on youtube!
Love Dales! Gary is pure gold too.
Sick gloves Gary

Another great video!!! Thanks for posting. I’ll be up there next week!!!

That sounds like a blast!
The western basin is tricky but when we do get good ice the fishing is second to none!
Well done...
Thanks Bruce!
Was just in a sleeper on lake of the woods for for days and nights was a little slow still got 70 fish between us 3

Great Video. Who do you recommend for their sleeper houses up there?

Big fish Gary :)
What type of spoon is below your dead stick bobber?

Tighten your damn drag up and u can get a hook set lol
Did you guys keep your 6 fish each for home?
No, but we easily could have. Joshua will take home his limit, I go up a couple times and usually just take home three which is enough for a meal, Gary will eat it only if we cook it for him :)
Soon
Winter is coming Mike! I am editing right now. Just watched about three hours worth of Gary wondering why he isn't catching any fish :)
whats with the gloves?
LOL maybe we should have Gary explain it in a video. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
You missed so many fish there if you watch the video you can see your reel is crying
Missing fish is a yearly tradition for us!
