@livingwithelephants will jabu ever become a super tusker in his lifetime? I mean super tuskers are huge males with tusks over 100 pounds each the question is will he ever be one?
I have a question. Why do the elephants, especially Jabu, dig their tusks all the way up to their faces into the sand? What's the goal there? I've seen your other elephant excavate the sides of the long trench you all dug a year ago, but most often I see Jabu about to get out of the pool (pond) and then he'll dig his tusks into the sand and seem like he's stretching or maybe scratching himself.
According to the living with elephants foundation jabu is not sexually interested with wild female elephants like his companion morula because of the following reasons. 1. Jabu keeps his musth in control so he does not get much aggressive during the breeding season due to his bad leg injury 2. Morula is a female but is permanently sterile so jabu has no sexual interest in her as morula is much older than jabu and they are from two different elephant populations and because of this, jabu will never sire offspring in the future unfortunately.

At least he has a good life thanks to these fine people, but it still would have been nice for him to have more than video and photos to show that he ever lived.
