My mom used to be a travel agent and we had the opportunity to go to South Africa (I’m an American), and we got to do some pretty cool things due to how rich her boss was. One of them was a private safari, and we actually had elephants come up to our safari car and stick their trunks into the vehicle. They were really pleasant and very evidently just wanted some form of snack. Very gentle creatures!
Depends on the reserve and the state of the elephants. Sounds like you were at Addo elephant park, their elephants are friendlier unless you have citrus (then you risk getting attacked). I would not risk that at the Kruger National Park. There have been cars crushed when people try to get too close to the elephants. The rangers become familiar with the body language and nature of the different herds, so they would know when it is safe. And the elephants are also more familiar with the safari cars as well, so less risk of spooking them.

Wow, what an amazing, powerful experience to have!
Yes i really wanted some serious elephant knowledge here but got only bad jokes.profound really tho.
Guy: Please don’t scratch my car.
Me: Listen mate, he’s a goddamn elephant. He can do whatever he wants.
This made me breathe a little bit more air out of my nose than usual. Congrats
I wondered what the guy was thinking. A 6 ton behemoth feels like scratching my car? Better risk my life and tell it to piss off.
Aerin thanks brother. Cheers 🍻
Mark lol sure mate, tell em how ya really feel aye?
I mean, he said please :)
Wow, that elephant was so calm! I'm impressed.
Meeting a man with such huge balls and actually approaching him deserves respect.
he probably fainted in that sitting position ,
jyothish sudhakaran lol
maybe he shit his pants
jyothish sudhakaran What.
XD i died 😂
jyothish sudhakaran lol .. yeah . he was all unconscious during that situation
Me: *Opened TH-cam*
TH-cam: *Let's recommend him 5 years old "nerves of steel"*
Elephant: O hi der. Any food? Hello? Are you listening? Hellooooo 👋 Sheesh. Weirdo.

I didn't want to scare away the elephant.

I get the feeling at 1:11 the elephant is actually blowing the "smell" of the guy into it's mouth.

What did you do today??
Sat in my chair as Wild Elephant approached me...
Nothing Big...
How about you..?
Sat on the couch and watched this video from the safety of my home..😳

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL RELATIONSHIP OF THE BEAST AND PERSON SITTING ON THE CREATED SEAT. *RESPECT BOTH WAYS & LOVE BOTH WAYS IS THE EXAMPLE*
@Dredgen One The seat and the human on the seat?
You can clearly see by the Elephants behaviour and body language, that it means no harm.
Its just interested.
Its ears are folded down, indicating that it is not angry.
My blood pressure went up and I'm just watching this.
Respect to this dude and the elephant.
they are herbivores
Love elephants and what a moment to be that close to one of God's beautiful creatures. The ears were back for the most part. Good sign.
There is no 'God', you have Mother Nature to thank.
@@shaunpierce4174 Mother nature doesn't exist and it's used by people who can't say the word God fearing offending others. God is alive and well.

Elephants have extraordinary memory. i think he is memorizing the humans smell
Much as a dog will when he first sniffs his master's hand.
Of course, it goes without saying that elephant also have a superb sense of smell.
Let it approach you, let it touch you, let it sniff you.
It touch you to feel your rhythm. If it confortible to your rhythm, it will sniff you to memorize you. Next time it sees you, it will treat you as neighbour
Not only do they have good memory, but they can even recognize themselves in a mirror.
soph galv It must smell bullshit then
damn that was well-described as fuck... thanks
That is called “offering”
If anything goes wrong animal can take that offering and leave other untouched.
Clever method !!
NA NA I’m glad the elephant didn’t take it 🙈
Only the elephant witnessed the horror stricken face of the brave man. None should know was their mutual understanding.
Best comment ever!

Elephant is like, “Wow dude! Such big balls, can I measure them?”
Guy: I think it's gratuitous but whatever😎
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏼
🤣🤣🤣
When man and beast can observe each other without the feel of threat.
Speechless!
"How calm would you be in this situation?" I'm freaking out just watching the video.
Awww look at this beautiful majestic giant Elephant. How wonderful, to see a huge elephant up so close.I love it.🐘🐘
Prehistoric park (2006)
Just don't let tourists think they can also do this.
the reason the Elephant was even gesturing for food is cause humans feed them.
It wasn't gesturing for food.
+Harry Brown Nope he was using his trunk to sniff, informational assessment.
lmao anil
damn! that dude's have iron nuts..
LOL! But I think he hasn't any! Else his nuts could have choked his throat by then!
not really he just knows that nervous moves would make things much worse
Go munch on them.. !
it's about reading the emotions of the elephant.
Of course it needs some experience to do this.
The elephant was just curious at this time
Shahriar Bin Rouf he does indeed. The problem was he had to hire 2 dump trucks to carry his nuts around whenever he needed to walk around, 1 truck for each mountain sized iron ball.
The elephant really had nerves of steel to get close to such dangerous animals.
Sketchy boss :o
Depends on the reserve and the state of the elephants. Sounds like you were at Addo elephant park, their elephants are friendlier unless you have citrus (then you risk getting attacked). I would not risk that at the Kruger National Park. There have been cars crushed when people try to get too close to the elephants. The rangers become familiar with the body language and nature of the different herds, so they would know when it is safe. And the elephants are also more familiar with the safari cars as well, so less risk of spooking them.
@@christinevanzyl3106 my guy, Kruger elephants scare me, my profile pic is actually of a lion from Kruger that was just walking down the road back in 2012. Kruger used to be much nicer back then for seeing this stuff but when I went recently it was hard to spot anything exquisite
Lucky you
@@shaun_M1 what changed in the last 8 years?

Well,.....elephants never forget, right? They've probably met several times before. Elephant's like, "oh hey, Kevin, how's it going?"
Legend said the man wanted to run like a rocket but weight of his cast iron balls didnt let him do it
Gurson Gurson that indeed was savage
Gurson Gurson
I've read that somewhere.
An experience of a lifetime! Incredibly beautiful. I would risk my life for that. Animals in their natural habitat. Could it get any better? Thank you for sharing this video with the world! 1♡
Heather G but the real question is would you lock your doors in the "hood?"
Heather G come visit Africa for the experience
points to human, then to mouth. "you. go in here"
haha
Edwin elephants are herbivores. Like you donkey.
They use the roof of their mouths to help smell stuff. He is sucking air into his trunk then blowing it into his mouth to smell better. He does this several times. Has nothing to do with wanting food.
D. Mullins well, although my comment was a joke, I didn't know that elephants use their mouth to help them smell. Thank you for the info. I will do a little more research on this subject matter
Edwin HAHAHAHAHQ
That final look though... "Don´t move and we´ll be fine..."
I love these guys :)
And that ladt glance before leaving.. Priceless
Elephant: Hm, this is a mysterious human! He just sits there. Guess he's OK!
