I worked there and let me tell you, Back then that airport location is in the middle of nowhere, flooded during rainy season and alot of forest. (We use boat to get to our work camp during flooded)
But we cambodian and the chinese engineer prevailed. Phase 1 will be finished in 2025.

I would say there are ignorance in both Khmer and Thai communities. The more similar 2 cultures are, the more they fight. Cambodians and Thais should learn more about their history and get to understand the way our countries had impact on each other. To make it simple, we both had our time. The Siamese (Thai) were under Khmer influence during the time of the Khmer empire. Then after the fall of it, the opposite happened. The Khmers were under Thai influence. It’s called INFLUENCE (just like it happened in any other parts of the world) and not stealing or copying like Khmers and Thai likes to blame each other. I am Cambodian and I personally love to learn about my country’s history. And so does many other Cambodians and Thai. But there’s always ignorant ones like you
