I am a Chinese Canadian for over 20 years. I used to send money back home to my mom, but not in the last five years. She has not needed my money anymore. Chinese government has given her money that is enough for her pocket money because she lives with my brother. Whenever she is sick that needs to go to hospital, the medical cost covers 90 percent. I am over 40 years old. I have seen Chinese people's life has improved dramatically. I remember being so poor to the point that my mom didn't have money to buy basic needs such as cooking oil. My father was sick that my mom had to sell all the rice for his medical expense. Then, my family didn't have rice to eat and then had to eat sweat potato flour until new rice was being harvested. Chinese government works for Chinese people and that makes me proud of being Chinese.

President Xi seems humble, sincere and genuinely care for the people, and the people seem genuinely happy to see and greet him. It's President Mao's policy(Up the mountains and down the villages 上山下乡) to send the well to do kids to the poor country side to live with the poor to learn form the poor. Today President Xi has a similar police, but this time, is not compulsory. It's only for the volunteers of the communists followers.

So the wall is there only to block biased western news about China from certain population, who I think are not mature or educated enough to judge the news objectively. There are still a lot of under developed area in China, but we did free 740 million people from poverty in last 40 years through government policies and hard working. There are sinificant progress on food safety and pollution control, both were major chanllenge a few years back. I am a Chinese Canadian for over 20 years. I used to send money back home to my mom, but not in the last five years. She has not needed my money anymore. Chinese government has given her money that is enough for her pocket money because she lives with my brother. Whenever she is sick that needs to go to hospital, the medical cost covers 90 percent. I am over 40 years old. I have seen Chinese people's life has improved dramatically. I remember being so poor to the point that my mom didn't have money to buy basic needs such as cooking oil. My father was sick that my mom had to sell all the rice for his medical expense. Then, my family didn't have rice to eat and then had to eat sweat potato flour until new rice was being harvested. Chinese government works for Chinese people and that makes me proud of being Chinese.

Now there is food to eat, beds to sleep in, beautiful cities etc... I just watched homelessness in California and then jump into this video, what a dramatic absurd world, most richest people live in California and homeless people are dying on streets, while Chinese president visits his people to see if they are doing good or bad and checking on their food supplies, it was very interesting video….

So the wall is there only to block biased western news about China from certain population, who I think are not mature or educated enough to judge the news objectively. Corruption used to be a major issue, which has been one of focus of government, especially since President Xi. There are still a lot of under developed area in China, but we did free 740 million people from poverty in last 40 years through government policies and hard working. House price in major city is stil very high, where govertment is continueing trying to influence through different policies. There are sinificant progress on food safety and pollution control, both were major chanllenge a few years back.
And China is one of safetest country in the world, where it is not scary to go out at night.

Like it how china is attentive to the people's need in every detail. I heard from a friend that every village has a representative from the national government to make sure their welfare is taken care of like a doctor for every family, food and even alternative housing.
