Fantastic, I was in one the supportbands on the ten first days of this tour (End Of The World Tour), brilliant to be able to watch these guys every night, hanging out with them, super cool people, Deicide is one of the most impressive bands live, insane performance every time!
@Andrew Hollingshead Thats not what he meant at all, I agree with you one hundred percent, and I think everyone does, but what he meant is that Steve can keep the tempo stable even without using a click track, which can be quite hard especially when playing fast.
it's not that his blasts are even actually that loud, he has reduced the volume of his regular strokes to that of the blast beats, no rimshots etc.. pretty clever
Really enjoyable and aggressive drum playing style…his drums and the Deicide riffs combine in a way that is uniquely brutal and vicious and mean spirited in a way that is beautiful.
Wow, I could always hear Steve is amazing, but I've never watched him before now. You can rally see how every little thing he does is a precise and needed move that ties the band together. A real talent to have.
Love steve hes definitely a death metal drumming innovator in regards to deicides early material... Not to mention the fact he's written quite a large chunk of deicides entire catalogue of music just makes it even easier to admire and respect this mans talents and skills
his fill-ins and utilisation of the symbols is excellent. that is what attracted me to deicide in the nineties. who cares about speed he takes care of business with the instruments he has and all this new s*** ..they're all the same now anyway.... just like Pantera said the trends are fucking dead....
All the songs seem slower. I love Steve. Huge ingluence on me, along with Dave Lombardo, Lars Ulrich, Pete Sandoval, Mick Harris, Scott Travis, Clive Burr, Les Binks etc
better than pete sandoval because is more musical as drummer he doesn't just play fast all the time etc i saw some clip of him playing the piano and i met him years ago along with glen benton they are both nice guys
Are those the dreaded 32nd notes? of the 90's death metal years... Pretty amazing speed, but is there anyone else who can play faster? Would love to see?
+Carter yup the likes of Roddy, Laureano, Romain etc are in a another league when it comes to all out speed. Steve's a great drummer though, cant take anything away from him
What a stupid comment. Tons of guys way faster, what's your point? Is this a competition? Guys like Steve Asheim, Lee Harrison, Mike Smith, Donald Tardy and many others are school, and deserve the place they have earned, while you shouldn't even be allowed to open your mouth on this matter
Jesus. What an absolute joy to watch. His accents are impeccable, totally lifting the song. A true master.
I feel tired just 'watching' Steve play 4 songs in a row. Well done man
it's very impressive to me too
As a percussionist I can assure you it isn't easy ..
More than 30 years of excellence at music and drumming :-) GO STEVE!!!!

Steve Asheim is an amazing drummer.
Very solid and consistent. Oh yeah. And he's using no click track.
@Andrew Hollingshead Thats not what he meant at all, I agree with you one hundred percent, and I think everyone does, but what he meant is that Steve can keep the tempo stable even without using a click track, which can be quite hard especially when playing fast.
He's also written the vast majority of the music since the Hoffman bros left the band.
He doesn't use triggers either he's an absolute beast
The man is brilliant
Very underrated, excellent drummer and gets no slower with age,i’d be fukin collapsing after playing just 1 song

Steve, You're the best!
Steve is THE drummer from Hell!!!
I love the consistency of his snare . The blast beats are louder almost then regular strokes. Something you don't see often today
The Beast from the 80s
it's not that his blasts are even actually that loud, he has reduced the volume of his regular strokes to that of the blast beats, no rimshots etc.. pretty clever
@@simoatsofuck yeah that’s smart. i hate weak sounding blasts. that’s the way to do it
@@simoatsoVery similar to Mick Harris
I love the fact that the Sound of the bass is just natural. (No triggers)
Really enjoyable and aggressive drum playing style…his drums and the Deicide riffs combine in a way that is uniquely brutal and vicious and mean spirited in a way that is beautiful.

They had to turn the camera off at the 15 minute mark because Steve had to wipe the shit off that was rolling down his legs.
I love his right hand on hi-hat. uh.
his fill-ins and utilisation of the symbols is excellent. that is what attracted me to deicide in the nineties. who cares about speed he takes care of business with the instruments he has and all this new s*** ..they're all the same now anyway.... just like Pantera said the trends are fucking dead....

All the songs seem slower. I love Steve. Huge ingluence on me, along with Dave Lombardo, Lars Ulrich, Pete Sandoval, Mick Harris, Scott Travis, Clive Burr, Les Binks etc
When I saw Gene Hoglan drumming for Death he blew my mind so we can add him to the list

chryste panie na gumowym bananie
This is the result of leaving kids in the kitchen too long pots an pans
Damn he's slow compared to Roddy who drums 50x faster and harder than even during his prime lmao!
+Carter yup the likes of Roddy, Laureano, Romain etc are in a another league when it comes to all out speed. Steve's a great drummer though, cant take anything away from him
