Have you paddled the stretch from Redfield into Water Works? A few rapids and strainers but probably less shallow. Last time I was on it, it felt like the herons were pacing us the whole way. A few more signs of civilization with bridges and bike paths. I keep wanting to try these on SUP but worried about catching a rock and pitching over.

I've done most of the raccoon between panora and Des Moines. The redfield stretch is a favorite! Tackling that on a SUP would be epic :)

Hello, my friend just got a kayak and I'm super jealous, any tips on picking a good boat for rivers for a beginner?
I've went down a class 2 before so I'm familiar with how it works it's just been a while, still a noob.
